Don't rely solely on the overly positive reviews. I did--and it gave me a false sense of security…read more My real experience was the exact opposite. I am angry, not just disappointed. From the beginning I repeatedly raised concern about a potentially serious medical issue and asked for appropriate workup. It was dismissed, and I was sent to an inappropriate specialty. Only after seeing another department did I finally receive the correct, more targeted testing--and the results were clearly abnormal, confirming that my concerns were not "just anxiety." What I cannot forgive is what happened next: despite abnormal test results and imaging findings, I repeatedly requested an urgent specialty referral. Instead, referrals were repeatedly incomplete or failed--sent as a generic "joint pain" note with no supporting details--so the receiving specialty clinic could not triage or schedule me. While my symptoms progressed, I was trapped in preventable paperwork and coordination errors. If you need routine care, maybe it's fine. But if you have a serious, time-sensitive concern, think carefully. No one should have to fight this hard just to get an appropriate referral.

Dr. Ling Xu is one the the most attentive doctor we ever met. Others don't like her style because…read moreshe like to order blood test before she gives you diagnosis. For me, I think that is a good idea. She does not like to guess on what is really going on with her patient. What better way is it than not knowing what is going on in your body internally before prescribing drugs for you to take. It is better for her to know the root causes of your illness and blood test can help her to get a starting point with her diagnosis. She can then at least rule out the worst or act upon emergency matters internally if there's any in a timely manner. Dr. Ling Xu's staff are also very friendly and helpful. We love her style. Keep it up Dr. Xu.

Working with her office (as Dana L. says below) can at times be a nightmare, but it is definately a front office issue. Dr. S acknowledged that if I needed to get ahold of her, the best way was her private cell phone... who does that? She does. She is amazing. Great doctor, great person, great advice. She is also my mom's doctor. My mom is a double amputee and has some serious health issues - Dr. S always schedules an hour for her, and comes in early to do so. She has a great sense of humor but isn't afraid to tell you the truth. I wish she was still my doctor (but lucky me we still catch up when I take my mom to her appointments! She tends to run behind, but its worth it if you like good service. She openly dismisses the mandated 15 min appt time allocated by the medical group - she takes as long as she needs - she knows 15 minutes cannot provide for excellent service. When you are on the recieving end of this treatment it's great, but if you are waiting in the lobby and she is 30 min behind it can suck. I give her 5 stars anyway because its worth it. I just learned quickly two things: 1) make the first appt of the day or first appt after lunch so you don't get stuck waiting AND 2) call her directly or use the mysutteronline.org email service to email her if you need refills, quick response/emergency. If you do these two things, you get the attention of an awesome doctor and successfully manage the pitfalls of the office she works in. Well worth it.

Amal cares not only about your psychical health but also your mental/emotional health. Each time she leaves the practice I find her and reach out or switch. Dr. Garriott is always responsive, patient, caring, unassuming and salt of the earth. When hospitalized for 19 days, Dr. Garriott would stop by to check every day personally. After discharge, he called our home personally, answered questions, provided guidance. Afterwards, at the office, he would bring a wheelchair to help. How many doctors care enough to personally wheel chair a patient to the car? Most doctors communicate through their front office. You call the office, the reception calls you back. But not Dr. Garriott. Whenever I have called his office with a question, same evening, Dr. Garriott personally calls back to answer, and any other question that may arise. Dr. Garriott is the most caring, selfless, brilliant, experienced, doctor we have ever had the privilege to know, and our entire family is in debt of his grace. A hearth-felt thank you. Highly recommend Dr. Garriott and his team and staff.
