Yesterday she bought a long flowing light weight dress that looks like it came via time machine from 1971. It made her happy. I like happy. In addition to clothing the store also carries some home goods, costume jewlery, etc... This location at the fountain is super cute ! I love hats so that is what caught my eye I had to come inside the store and check out all the goodies they have . They have cute clothes , hats and jewelry and so much other little cute things to look at . I got a necklace that says " MAMA" it's my current favorite necklace I love it . There was a lady working that day. She was super attentive, and friendly we actually had a long conversation about hats and clothes. I definitely have to go back when I have more time to get more stuff .. This store is definitely my style and with friendly staff it's a win win! read more

The store itself is nice, but the shopping experience was really overwhelming. I had multiple sales associates approach me repeatedly in just a short visit, which made it hard to simply browse. I understand wanting to be helpful, but it came across as pushy instead. A little more space to shop in peace would make the experience so much better. I went in on the 20th to purchase as a secret Santa gift and ended up finding a cute necklace. I quickly discovered the person I intended to gift it to has quite serious metal allergies so jewelry wasn't going to work. I came back on the 22nd or 23rd trying to exchange for a different item and was told the do not accept jewelry returns. It was not mentioned at the time of purchase nor did I get a receipt. I'm now stuck with a necklace after Christmas that I can't do anything with. Be wary before purchasing certain items. I didn't even want a refund I requested an exchange. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would. Online buyers BEWARE!! This seller has a HORRIBLE return policy and does not ship home goods and breakable items properly. I ordered over $100 from them and they packaged my items with little care for what would happen during transit. They use recycled flimsy boxes (and even label their boxes as recycled) and provide the tiniest amount of bubble wrap. All my items were stacked on top of one another with nothing used to fill in between so they wouldn't move and get damaged. When I contacted the shop immediately with photos they basically told me it isn't their responsibility to deal with damaged items and to file a claim with the shipping company to get my money back from them. UPS should not be responsible for damages when Terra Cottage poorly package their items. Extremely bad policies and bad customer service. Spend your money elsewhere people! read more

I went to the shop today to run in and grab an outfit for a wedding this weekend. I got there at 10:50 but they open at 11.. however the door was open so I went in, happy to get a jump on looking since I had to get my daughter from school at 11:30... the girl working was so rude and literally told me to leave and come back in 10 mins because she "needed to do her social media posts".... like what!?! In a time of covid and wanting to try and shop small & local, to be told to come back because she needed to post to social media, is truly the worst customer service ever. The client in front of you, wanting to give you money always should be given the attention. Not to mention her 10 mins of social media time could've easily been done once I left, but 10 mins to me eases my mind of getting across town in time. read more

Sad to say, let down by my experience. Husband purchased a sweater for the holidays, I attempted to return with the original bag, wrapping, and gift receipt. Store associate was polite and admitted their staff made a mistake and my gift receipt number and details were not in their system and the merchandise was missing the tag they needed. Despite the full proof that it was purchased recently and admitting it was their mistake regarding how the original transaction was tracked, they did not accept my return. To shop small means to build relationships. They ended an option for a return customer and earned a 1 star review by not accepting a simple $45 dollar sweater they knew was new and not tampered with. The clothing and jewelry are fabulous. I have only visited the Folsom store. I decided to submit an order online to treat myself to some post baby clothes after finally getting out of maternity wear. My package is extremely late and no updates on shipping. I've contacted customer service, but that hasn't helped much either. I was hoping for some reconciliation to make the situation right. Worst customer service I've ever received. I received a gift for Christmas along with the gift receipt with order number. I live in Southern CA so dropping by to return is out of the question. I contacted them to see if I could get a refund rather than a store credit. I was told the only thing they could do was to refund to the original form of payment. I informed them that this was a gift and asked them how they thought this action would solve the issue? In fact, this could easily cause a strain to the relationship between the giver and the receiver! After going back and forth for literally hours via text, they indicated that they had no way to send a check or electronic transfer and complained about being out the fees for the credit card transaction. I sure wonder how they pay their bills if they don't have any way to distribute money? I told them to feel free to subtract the credit card fees from the refund. The original total was $60, most credit card companies charge 3-5% per transaction, so they were worried about $3??? Whatever! Even if I liked their merchandise, I would absolutely NEVER shop here. Rather than spend the money to ship the gift back for my store credit, I will probably just donate it to a homeless shelter. At least they will be appreciative. read more
