From a wedding guest point of view : Dear Park Villa will make you feel like your miles deep in a magically lit forest , when in reality you're just a few of minutes away from cute coffee shops, restaurants , busy Bay Area life. The outside ceremony and reception site is very esthetic without much need for florals or decorations. The grand redwood trees and candle lights is ambience enough in my opinion. The outdoors also had some space with fire pits for s'mores making ,and some lounge chair . The interior space was a bit compartmentalized and smaller. There was a dance floor with space for photo booth in one section , a back bar and large patio for cocktail hour, and bathrooms. The venue is easy to get to , plenty of parking, with few hotels within 5 miles range . I couldn't tell you anything about price or restrictions on vendors , but whatever was spent , I would say it was worth it . Guests will be impressed and happy that it wasn't a struggle to travel to the venue.

We were stunned when the contract said we would be required to indemnify them if they get sued for their own reckless or wilfull behavior. When asked, they confirmed that if one someone in our group was hurt by their bad behavior, and sued them, we would have to pay the damages awarded against them. We asked them if they really wanted to extract such concessions from their business relations, and whether they would agree instead that we would both be responsible to each other if we act unreasonably. They said they'd talk to their lawyers, but we shouldn't expect to hear anything soon, and suggested we look elsewhere. Never got a revised contract as of the date of the retreat, and had to go elsewhere. Was looking forward to this place. Really disappointed. Be careful what you sign. Read it first.

We had an amazing experience planning with Miss Susan and having the party with the rest of the American Legion Post 179 Crew. Susan was responsive and fun, and made us feel completely at ease through our party planning process. We would work with her again in a heartbeat. The venue is SO COOL. It feels like going back in time, like a sock hop in the 1950s or something. It was the perfect size for our party of 60, including a dancefloor area, but I think their total capacity is around 115 people. They had tables and chairs available, as well as alcohol and bartenders onsite. Awesome! Less vendors to hire, which made the party more streamlined. NOTE FOR FUTURE PARTY PEOPLE: The upstairs room runs SUPER DUPER hot in the summertime. We were all sweatin' up a storm. If you have an event at this venue, be mindful of the weather and prepare for it. Basically, bring a BUNCH of big ole electric fans and maybe even offer paper fans as party favors. Nick and I also love the bar downstairs. We've visited a handful of times before our party and it's always good vibes. Drinks are affordable, and you'll be in good company. We're excited to come back and visit the venue of our best party ever real soon.
