For a more formal event, it's not ideal for older people especially. (those over 80 and those with any disability) There is a somewhat steep and uneven slope down to the Yurt area where the ground is flat but again, uneven and covered with hay. This caused shoes and feet to be covered in dust soon after arriving. This would be ok if wearing proper sneakers or others made for walking on that type of surface. Wearing the clothes we did, gave us no protection from ticks which the website indicated are prevalent there. In addition, the only restrooms are porta potties. This is a little rustic for a formal event and not so easy for people in wheel chairs. There is no lighting on this path back up to the parking lot. This is entirely unsafe after the sun has gone down. All of that said, I would recommend this venue for a school field trip where students are dressed appropriately and are visiting during daylight hours. I would not, however, recommend it for a formal event.

We took on Alamere falls and it was a lot of fun. On the way back our car broke down and we stopped in the lovely town of Bolinas. Our first move was to try to find a mechanic. The locals pointed us to someone named Sean. We went to a bar to try to find him only for someone there to tell us he was in Richmond. I love that all the locals there knew this one mechanic. Eventually we called AAA to get the car towed and they came within an hour which was impressive Next on the agenda was to call an Uber to get us out of here. After roughly twelve attempts to call an Uber we found one. Our plan is to first Uber to Mill Valley and then try to catch something to S.F. While waiting we got some food here. The food was quite good. The fish tacos are very flavorful with excellent salsa. They had a robust menu of vegan options a the vegan chicken bowl is really good and ethically sourced to boot! If you are ever in Bolinas I highly recommend this restaurant!

It said it came with beans. Which is something that would typically be in a taco salad at the bottom. Well, this one didn't. It had a few black beans sprinkled on top. Then the corn? Unsure about that but there were sprinkles of that. I had to pay for the guacamole. Okay, typical. Then onto the the protein. Typically, taco salads come with this but not at this place. They charge $5 extra for that and it wasnt very much. The "asada" was the tiny cubed type. You know the type you see in grocery stores? It tasted like meat that had been left in the fridge for a few days and reheated. So, if you like lettuce in a taco shell that has a few sprinkles of other things, then this $25 "taco" salad is for you. My 14 yr old is a better cook. We also ordered a bean a cheese burrito. He did say that was a kids burrito, so I said okay. I didn't know it was $12. The waffle fries were good. Someone we brought with us ordered those and shared. She said her other food item was dreadful. The other person said his food was not worth the $20ish he spent on his burrito either. We were hungry and didn't plan accordingly. Next time, we will. This place is your typical overpriced horrible food tourist trap place. Just come with food if you plan on visiting the beach. I feel bad for the people who actually live in this town and this is one of the veey limited options they have for eating out. Over the years, I haven't had one decent food place ranging from Stinson beach up to bodega bay. I'd gladly pay the prices if any of the food was actually good. This is about the food and not about the service. That's the 1 star because at least the staff was nice.

The rental rates are unbeatable! They have a parking lot on site, all the chairs, tables, serving wear, kitchen items, cooking items, stereo system, industrial dish washer, etc that you need to have a small (under 75 person) wedding. Lynn is great and very helpful (she is the contact person for rentals). You do have to get event insurance but no extra insurance for having alcohol like most places do. You don't need to use a specific caterer or even have one if you don't want. It is quit and peaceful and just perfect! Only down sides are it is a little harder to get to, there aren't a ton of options for hotels, and you have to take the garbage somewhere else to dispose of it (they don't have garbage pick up on site). Over all, AMAZING views, UNBEATABLE prices, EVERYTHING you need, peaceful, and BEAUTIFUL. Even if I had all the money in the world, I would get married here again!

The facility is in a wonderful setting surrounded by redwoods and trails and nature! There is a wonderful large, flat area to set up tables for dinner and a band. We had the retreat for the weekend and hosted a dinner for 40 people inside on one night, dinner outside, one night, and dancing and karaoke inside! The Staff at the retreat center are wonderful and accommodating. I highly recommend the Ralston White Retreat Center!

6 Stars The Town of…read moreMuir Beach is a very small, unincorporated village of about 105 residences and 300 people in Marin County, California. It is situated along Highway 1 in between the cities of Mill Valley and Stinson Beach. There is an actual ocean beach named Muir Beach, in the town of Muir Beach . . . just to be clear. This community is comprised almost entirely of residences. The only two non-residence structures are the Muir Beach Community Center and The Pelican Inn and Restaurant. I was extremely fortunate to live at the very top of Seacape Drive just yards away from the world famous, Muir Beach Overlook, at the very top of the hill. The views of Mount Tamalpais, surrounding hills and valleys, and the sounds of ocean breakers outside my cottage seem as if from a dream---experiences I will cherish indefinitely. Some may know I am an author of metaphysical fantasies, and I can safely say that a chapter or two in my next novel will take place in Muir Beach. For me personally, I made meaningful friendships with my two very special housemates, in Muir Beach. This has added to the mystique and adventure of my Muir Beach experience. It's easy enough to find and the parking lot is a decent size, if you're a guest for the Inn park in the spot referenced by your room number. I went in the door and was greeted by the desk host, check in was as easy as they come. She walked me up to our room pointing out the necessary. Our single key worked on our room door but not on the outside door to enter the Inn as we were told it would. Yes we found WiFi once we got down to the pub the one modern convenience we needed but only two electrical sockets in the room, one in the bathroom. No flat screen, no AC, I found a space heater and a fan in the closet...Okay. we'll manage. The bed was quite high and there is a step stool to help climb into bed. Lots of yummy sheets and a quilt. The mattress was good, not great, two sides of the bed are against the wall. (Somebody's crawling over) The bathroom was small of course, only one in the shower, soap and stuff dispensers on the wall. Our window opened to the front yard, a nice ocean breeze kept us cool. Quaint and yet a bit noisy next door until everyone settles down for bed. Dinner downstairs (a separate review) After dinner we walked a half mile to Muir beach and enjoyed the sun set, perfect. No Pub partying for us these days, we woke up early for our Muir Woods adventure today. Included is a freshly cooked English breakfast (other options too) outside was cool, damp, and foggy this morning. Welcome to summer on the california coast. We stopped in for drinks and absolutely loved the atmosphere. They have a great selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, making it a wonderful place to relax after exploring nearby Muir Beach. The inn itself is full of charm and character. There are several cozy rooms and seating areas, each with its own unique feel. I especially loved the dark, old-world ambiance and the fact that they use real candles throughout the building, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere that is hard to find these days. Although we didn't stay overnight, we learned that the property also operates as a small hotel with a handful of guest rooms, which makes it even more special. I can easily imagine spending a weekend here. One thing dog owners should know: dogs are welcome on the outdoor patio if you're ordering food. If you're just stopping by for drinks, there are also a few benches on the lawn where you can sit with your dog and enjoy a beverage while admiring the beautiful cottage-style building and surrounding grounds. We did exactly that and loved it. Whether you're looking for lunch, a drink, a cozy place to unwind, or simply want to wander around and enjoy the unique setting, I highly recommend stopping by. The space was perfect for everything we needed, and although we had our ceremony down the road at Old Mill Park, it would have been a beautiful place to have that too. The space is so gorgeous it needs very little additional decoration, and everything you add is just magnified by the surroundings. As a historic building in a small town they have a number of rules and restrictions, and when we decided to book I did wonder if they might be difficult to plan around. But it wasn't hard at all, and everything from the decor to the music was exactly as I hoped and not held back at all. I would definitely strongly recommend booking vendors who are familiar with OAC though, because with them you never have to worry about a thing, knowing they have it handled! I'll specifically mention music volume, as that was the main thing I worried about - we wanted a dance party, and we got one without any issue! Our DJ (Airsun) was really familiar with OAC and with our coordinator (Stacey Dillon) - who herself works there all the time - and they all knew what they needed to do, so I didn't worry for even a second about it. And I never would have guessed there were any sound restrictions by the experience, it didn't hold back the party at all. The facilities manager Dave did a great job with setup and was so kind and helpful about drop off and pickup of all our stuff. We also worked with Rodney of Marin Event Lighting to hang bistro lights (he is the only one allowed to do it) and they were gorgeous and perfect. They also require you work with one of their approved caterers, and Sage did a phenomenal job! OAC is a stunning hidden gem in Mill Valley and I would highly recommend it for any event!

We had our wedding in September 2023 at the Outdoor Art Club, and I could not be happier with every detail. We had visited many venues, and nothing gave us the right vibe until we stepped foot into the OAC. What's most important to me is always the people, and every single person we got to work with there was beyond helpful and kind. David helped us plan out the most perfect layout for our group. He is so fun and a true delight to be around. He made everything flow and planning with him was a piece of cake because he knows exactly what to do! Mary was welcoming from Day 1, super responsive always, and a pleasure to work with. Kenny was also a great person to meet, and he does a great job with the grounds - always offering a kind word and a smile! Hilary was there the day of our wedding and she kept everything in check. Beyond the people, the venue is so naturally beautiful and has such a storied history. Guests were so happy to be there, and kept commenting on how beautiful the flowers and grounds were kept. You also cannot beat the location to downtown Mill Valley, and yet it still feels very tucked away and private from the hustle and bustle of the town! We are so happy to have had our special day at the Outdoor Art Club with all the wonderful OAC staff and volunteers who made it a happen.
