I returned several times, but it remained lost; finally, after carefully describing it to a bright young man, he went up to the attic and FOUND my lamp! They'd put someone else's name on it; had it not been for MY perseverance and HIS listening skills, I still would not now have that beautiful 19th century floor lamp in my living room!

We went down to J&H hardware and picked out a grill from the front of the store. We were not sure if it would fit in the car but Jessica was so kind and helped us take the wheels off and gave us tie wraps to hold the hood of the grill in the trunk. Everyone is so friendly in the store and helpful.

They are ALWAYS friendly toward me- know me by name and often make genuine personal conversation and inquire about how my projects are coming. Their products are good and very competitively priced- often beating big box store prices. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to lend a hand finding items, offering materials and method advice, or brainstorming how to accomplish a project. The free and fast delivery is reliable and the delivery drivers and are like heros who regularly brave my dodgy woods road and remote location to help ease my labors, and they do it with a can-do, gung-ho and adventurous attitude. Overall the sort of experience of what I can only imagine a community hardware store might have been like when my grandfathers were my age. Kudos to the whole operation- and BIG thanks to everyone who makes it what it is!

They had 1 paint can on the shelf, but no lid. The price marked on the shelf was $5.99. i picked up a cheap plastic lid hoping she would at least give me a discount or find me a lid so i did not have to buy one, that was supposed to come with the pail. Nope, the empty paint can rang up at 6.99 and she rang up the cover at 2.59 for a total of $9.58 for an empty paint can. I told her to keep it and i would go to Home Depot to get it. IHome Depot price was 6.99 and it came with a cover. I think Hamshaws need to empower their employees, the ability to work with the customer, if there is an issue, like i experienced. I am sure (maybe not)Hamshaws would rather have me leave as a happy customer and not a disgruntled one

I prefer to go to smaller stores than the big box superstores when I can to support local smaller business and to get things more quickly- this size has plenty to offer but it's faster than walking through a mega store to get a few screws or a new tool. 2) selection: hands down, this store has far more in stock than all other Aces and local smaller stores when it comes to power tools/ power tool option models from Dewalt, Makita, craftsman, black and decker and Bosch- among others. Decent selection of most things you could ever need for your projects and household stuff. Any time I've ordered online the order is there and ready. Recommended.
