Oh my gosh, I grew up around this area and I guess it's been here 20 years but I haven't tried it. Until yesterday lol. Man was I missing it. I've got a five egg chorizo and strak omelette, which was fantastic with a side of fruit and crispy, hashbrowns and rye bread. I had to take half of it home and I was absolutely starving. I had a great experience at the pancake house. I have been there twice and the food was great, the service was friendly, and the place was very clean. The portion size was huge. I eat out alot for work and it's rare for me to ask for a box. I left with a loaded box and a full belly. If you are in the area definitely stop in the food is great. read more

Someone needs to give this place a fresh coat of paint and a makeover. Why? Because the appearance doesn't reflect how amazing the food is - the walls look like pickle loaf. The Pancake House has a wide variety of meals to choose from, not to mention decent prices. You can tell the food is made from quality ingredients and the cooks know what they're doing. It's the best breakfast place by far in Defiance. We've ordered dinner as well and been just as pleased. Good food, but please get a different building, feels like a house turned into a restaurant.

It may look like a brothel from the outside, and a slice of pickle-loaf on the inside, but goodness is the food good! I've been there twice and have always been impressed with the amount of food I get for such a low price. The meals are very filling and I especially recommend the omelettes as they're large and fluffy. As I said, the inside of the restaurant looks like it has seen better days - the lace curtains were stained as though someone used them for napkins, the ugly pink colored walls are an eyesore (and again, looks like pickle-loaf) and the tables are a gross green marble color. But the restaurant is worth a try for it's food. Someone, please give this place a makeover but don't change the quality of the food. If anything, narrow the menu down because it has a bit too many options. read more

This is the second time we have been here and unfortunately the second time we were disappointed. We went this morning for breakfast. We both ordered the house special. Waiter dropped off plates ignored the empty drink cup and walked away before we could get a word out. House special today was a spinach, onion and mushroom scramble. Eggs were runny,not fully cooked. There was so much cheddar cheese you could barely taste anything else, not to mention the potatoes still hard and not cooked all the way through. Based off of our first experience this is the normal for this place it was about the same experience just with lunch on our previous visit. So everyone knows with the previous experience we had went in at lunch I ordered a cheeseburger patty was still partially frozen in the middle. I was already disappointed that a small hometown place wasn't using fresh local beef but to not fully cook the frozen patty just made it worse. Needless to say will will not be returning to this place again and also recommend others stay away as well. read more
