Let me tell you of my experience I had with Dr Gonzalez. I hate the dentist and never look forward to my appointments. However, when I switched to Dr Gonzalez, he treated me like a king. Insurance paperwork was super easy. When I had to get my gums numbed, he used this cheek technique that made it difficult for me to even pay attention to the pain. It was 100% painless and I loved it. Which is weird for anyone to say, but it's true. This guy knows how to take care of you. My dental hygienist was Cheryl and she's just as good as Dr Gonzalez!! Hands down best dentist and hygienist team in all of Dallas, dare I say..all of Texas? He's a top runner if they have those types of competitions. I saw Dr. Gonzalez for a cracked molar and was very impressed by his knowledge, skill, personality and great staff. I was seen one day after calling and Dr. Gonzalez took a lot of time to explain all of the options for dealing with the damage. Once the decisions were made, he gave me the total cost as well as the insurance coverage amount. I really appreciate his knowledge and dedication to making sure that I got all of the information I need. I loved my old dentist here in Dallas but had to move because he was too far from work. My friend recommended Dr. Gonzales and....wow... He's got the most hi-tech office I've ever seen. I got a digital Xray or my teeth, he took digital pictures, and scraped my teeth with a sonic blaster thingy. No more metal tools that poke you! Best of all, he shows you your teeth and your xray on a LCD monitor next to your chair and shows you what he's seeing. He doesn't do any work without taking a before picture and walking you through the process! At the end of the appointment, I got to take all the pictures home to put on my fridge! Friendly office, terrific service, and super close to work. Best dental experience, ever! I was able to come in as a result of a last-minute cancellation and am SO happy it all worked out. The office is clean, inviting, and they have a ton of great magazines to read while you wait. Cheryl was my hygienist and she did a phenomenal job. I was very impressed with Dr. Gonzalez. His professionalism and care. This was my first visit and first impression. He was referred by a very dear friend and also by my Church Priest. My Wife and I were both very satisfied and as We walked out I told my wife that the office service was poor but he was a true professional. Then a month later i Have a Severe toothache and I called to schedule an appointment. My insurance changed and i was now informed that they will out of network and I now had to pay for the services so I said cancel the appointment I wont be coming. My toothache continued and I called back the next day to reschedule an EMERGENCY appointment. They even provided me an emergency number. The office hours posted were changed after i spoke to them this morning but the office hours posted for Friday were 8:30 to 1:30. After I spoke to them this morning they changed them......Office Hours: Mondays 8:30am - 4:00pm Tuesdays 7:30am - 4:00pm Wednesdays 7:30am - 4:00pm Thursdays 8:00am - 5:00pm 1st Friday of the month 8:00 - 12:00 The office personnel is a complete different story. She was supposed since the first visit call me or email me to let me know that that she could squeeze my kids and schedule their visit before the year was over and that did not happen and I understand that the time was too close but she did not call me to let me know she wont be ale to. Then she was supposed to call me to work a work plan for my dental work and that didn't happen. Today I get a call and I am told by the office personnel that they weer closed on Friday and that the Doctor was in class.(which I understand) but since he saw it was me and I had cancelled the appointment the day before, he didn't call me back. They also tell me today that they have no time to schedule me and that if I want to see the doctor after hours it will cost me $275.00 Over all I am very disappointed that such a professional has such a poor customer service oriented office staff. Started going to Dr. Gonzalez over 5 years ago. Picked him because his office is down the street from where I work. I've kept going because he is awesome. Dr. Gonzalez and his entire staff are so nice and professional. He's out of network for my insurance and I keep saying I am going to change, but I just can't. They make going to the dentist not such a bad experience. They have a very nice and clean office with all the newest and high tech equipment. My family and I have been patients of Dr. JR for many many years. He's good at what he does, makes me feel comfortable, no pain and I always leave impressed whether it's with my treatment or my cleaning. The office staff have all been there for over 7 years which really says something. They are all friendly and very respectful of my time. Unlike other doc offices I've been to, this place doesn't make you wait out in the waiting room and then wait again back in another room. The appointment time I schedule for is the time I'm actually seen. Impressive! I'm not interested in having cheap work done and then end up paying twice to have it done again somewhere else. Dr JR is a craftsman and is passionate about what he does and knows that his work has his name on it. I really like that waterpick instrument the hygienist uses to clean my teeth. I hate the scraping sound of dental tools but that waterjet is great. I value my teeth and my health and know that this place does too which is why I've sent my family and friends. I wanted to write a review to tell about my experience with Dr. Gonzalez and his team. I have a dental situation that most dentists wouldn't want to deal with. The kind of situation that has them asking if i'm a drug user, when I've never touched one in my life, unless you count sodas and coffee (in fact, me and both my siblings have teeth that just want to fall apart). Because i was in an extreme amount of pain, i had to have a few teeth (with my wisdom teeth) extracted by an oral surgeon, who steered me to Dr. Gonzalez for the post-surgical treatment. When I went to see Dr. Gonzalez, i couldn't have asked for a more compassionate person, which in the dental field is a beautiful quality to have. I felt comfortable in his office, and comfortable discussing the biggest embarrassment of my life: my teeth. Upon my first meeting with him, I stressed to him just how important cost was, that I didn't have insurance (only a discount plan), and that all I wanted was to smile big again. He assured me that he would do his best to match the prices on the dental plan, and I thought I had found a truly compassionate dentist who didn't mind doing a bit of charity for someone who really needs it. The reason for two stars, is that they did "help" with discounting a couple of services, if you want to call two partials at $400 each a discount. But here's my real bitch: I was told my Dr. Gonzalez that a certain tooth needed a root canal, and that I had the option of filling it now and getting to the root canal later. Well, just having shelled out $2000 for the oral surgery, there was no way I was about to be able to afford a root canal on top of everything, so I opted to have it filled, and to get to it later. I was charged $225 for the filling (when I was told by Ezzie that he would try to match the dental plan price), and was told I needed to come back to get a couple more cavities filled. Two months later, while using a toothpick, the filling popped out. When I called Dr. Gonzalez's office, I was immediately rebuffed, their argument being: Well, we told you it might fail. I appealed: Is there any way we can take the cost of the failed filling toward the root canal for that tooth? No, because you opted for the filling, and the work was performed, it's not our fault it failed.... seriously? Well, does Dr. Gonzalez do any charity work? Charity work is only available to those who really need it..... So just because I'm not a crackhead or have a bunch of children means that I don't actually need charitable dental care? Just because she's a young white female with opportunities means she has all the money in the world to fix the teeth that just want to rot out of her head? Needless to say, I felt a little bit short-changed. And now, for the past 2 days, the same tooth has been hurting me unmerciful, and I'm on the search for a cheap dentist to perform a root canal. Compassion and being a 'nice' dentist will only get you so far. And it certainly doesn't make up for taking complete financial advantage of a person in serious need of treatment. read more

Dr Gonzales is the best in town. He is a perfectionist and his work is perfection. He went to the best Dental School and did a fellowship in ascetic dentistry but more importantly he explains things, he's friendly, and actually cares about his patients. I recently received the best teeth cleaning of my life from Dr. Gonzalez's hygienist! Unbelievable! I had questions about my extra sensitive teeth and Dr. Gonzalez took the time to go over my concerns to put me at ease. He really has a way with administering the shots so getting numbed is not that painful and he has so many methods for making the whole process more comfortable. Mostly, I just adore his demeanor. Dr. Gonzalez's dental assistant is so kind and caring each and every time I have an appointment. I have always hated to go to the dentist, but not with her at my side. She is so calming. It's very noticeable from the moment you are greeted when you walk into this dental office you are treated with the utmost respect and feel that Dr. Gonzalez's staff prides themselves on working as a team and dedicating their time to provide excellent dental care.
