Dentist Patel was informative and went over flossing and ways to clean teeth with me. I went to Dental Concepts because my regular dentist (over 20 years) did not offer the cosmetic procedure I sought. As a few of us stated, BE VERY CAREFUL. If you need some form of cosmetic dentistry, I would look elsewhere. After three hours and the "tag team" hard sell (almost $7k in procedures), I nope'd out of there. Here's what stood out to me: It was never said I wasn't a good candidate for the cosmetic dentistry as-is. Multiple times I said "no" to any other procedure, but they pressed on. I was told there was periodontal disease, infections, and cavities. I was done with them when they said that only after a tooth extraction and a $2k cleaning would they allow me to have the cosmetic work done. Yeah, right. I may need a regular cleaning, but my teeth are healthy, strong, and intact. I went to another dentist two days later, had the consultation done, molds taken, and paid for what I needed in under 90 minutes. No tag team upselling, telling me my teeth were about to fall out or that I have infections. To Dental Concepts: Don't bother responding to say you're sorry my needs weren't met. You had ample opportunity to meet them, but your need of more money took precedence. Do not call or contact anyone associated with me for further explanation. I've moved on. read more

Before coming here, I used to hate going to the dentist. But this company changed that for me! They are all so gentle when working with your teeth, especially Dr. Patel. The entire staff is so nice and make you feel like family! 10/10 I definitely recommend going here! read more

I would be very careful with this practice and recommend to get a second opinion. Also, read some of the non-recommendations reviews on other experiences.. couldn't be more real. I moved here from Seattle and was in search of a new dentist for Invisalign and cleanings. I had several cavities filled in the last two years.. and needed about 2 more. Welllll, after my exam here I apparently had more cavities and they said they might need to pull a tooth. These people are hard on the sales. I wanted Invisalign for a tooth that shifted after braces and they recommended veneers!!! It was ridiculous. The cleaning SUCKED. The girl rushed through it and it was no longer than 15 min. I went to another dentist in Las Colinas and guess what ... I have NO cavities & am getting Invisalign.. they also asked when my last cleaning was and were shocked it was only a few weeks prior. I'm giving it two stars because the place is clean and nice. But don't trust this book by its cover! Like the other reviews say, they team up on you and try to pressure you into multiple procedures. I went to other dentists and got a second AND third opinion just to be safe (they try to make it sound urgent and scare you into it) and both other dentists said my teeth were fine. If you value your time, go somewhere else, because they will try to keep you there and pressure you to get it done then and there. Please do not contact me in response to my complaint. charged me 80$ to tell me i'm a good fit for braces (which i already knew that) someone on the phone told me a teeth cleaning would be included in the consultation, which was a blatant lie . i paid 80$ for her to tell me "you are a good candidate for braces" not to mention the prices are absolutely ridiculous! over $5000 for braces. that is insane. they wanted $1500 down and a monthly payment of damn near $900. that's a car note payment, that is 1/3 of my rent. absolutely ridiculous and will not be coming back here. I recommend Smiley Dental in Garland! they'll do braces for 2k and they are always so nice and welcoming, i just didn't want to make the drive but i'd rather go there then ever come back here. read more

Patel, DDS. -please be aware of his misleading and unethical practices, his unorganized office staff who have no accountability for how they schedule appointments and how they are providing customer service to patients let alone a new first time patient. Also if you are seeking dental treatment , smile make over or cleaning be prepared to be interrogated and asked multiple times where you work, how long you've been employed and what you do for living because the care more about getting assured they will get paid than actually providing quality services to their patients!!! Schedule appointment at 2pm and didn't get scene until 5pm for the completion of a full new patient exam. When expressed disappointment and frustrated to have taken off work for this appointment time and even sacrificed to come in an hour earlier because at the last minute the dental assistant asked if I could to give the dentist more time to treat a tooth bothering me as well as complete new patient full exam. The behavior and attitude was ONLY Extremely condescending and combative!!! This practice has no ethical standards and is not held accountable for any miscommunication, false and misleading information instead they are always right and never apologized for error and incorrect scheduling on their part!!!! read more

Today I went in to get a cleaning. They were courteous and patient as always. I've always, always had a great experience in the 9 years I've been coming. Dr. Patel Nisha and their assistants are always amazing in every way. They always take great care of me. Would definitely recommend them in the future and especially if you are nervous about the dentist. Because of them, my teeth are actually better and I take better care of my teeth. My wife had to remove wisdom teeth and she was suffering from severe pain. Instead of focusing on that they recommended to have her all teeth treated for the cost of $6000!!.. Anyway we ended up paying $170 from our insurance and around 30 from my pocket for this terrifying news of $6000 treatment Secondly we were told that in-network dentist would cost the same but that was lie. My wife got her wisdom teeth removed for much lower price (75% less) at other very highly reputed dental clinic I wish there is some way to hide your insurance balance from dentist and doctors ! the only good thing about this place is that the staff is friendly! read more

This is my second review for Dental Concepts because I can't tell you enough that this is the best dentist office I've ever been to. I have an irrational fear of having my teeth worked on (I blame my childhood), but everyone at this office puts you at ease and they do everything they can to make you comfortable - even by just having simple, fun conversations! I recently came in to get the standard cleaning, but also to get advice on an oral surgery procedure that I needed. Not only did they give me the low-down of what I should expect, but they also went out of their way to schedule the appointment on my behalf with the oral surgeon (Metroplex - in the same complex) and ensure I was all set for the day of my surgery. After many bad experiences with different dental offices around the DFW area, I have finally found one that I can praise and recommend to others. Dr Patel is very experienced at and dedicated to his craft. My husband and I have seen him many times over the past few months and we felt more than satisfied after every visit. We have become regular patients (hopefully not too regular...) and whether it was our first or third consultation, we always received elevated dental care. I have never been offered to watch a a movie (by other dental offices) during a dental appointment, a smoothie after one of my extensive dental appointments, or been checked up on so much the day after receiving dental work. Dr Patel and his staff genuinely care about their patients. They do their best to accommodate patients' needs and schedules but most importantly, Dr Patel's meticulousness and expertise make you feel like you received an all around great service. read more

I really love Dr. Patel and his staff. I've been going there for about a year now and have no complaints. Going to the dentist has always made me nervous, so finding a group that I'm comfortable with really puts me at ease. The first time I went in, the woman that did my xrays and new patient cleaning really explained to be how to floss and showed me how my teeth needed to be cared for. I haven't seen that person there since, but it was greatly appreciated. I had, sadly, never been shown how to properly floss my teeth :( I feel like most dentist offices are a little excessive with scheduling/reminding. It used to bug me, but with the craziness of daily life I appreciate being reminded. They've also called to confirm and been able to bump me to an earlier appointment. I've been going to Dr. Patel for dental checkups going on 2 years now. He is very thorough, gentle, friendly and gets the job done! The office is beautiful and very clean. There are also Saturday and evening appointment options available. They know how deathly afraid I am of the drill so they always go easy on me. Dr. Patel is extremely nice and the best thing is that he always asks the patient if you are comfortable with the procedure and explains everything. Wow what a place. Went to get a cleaning and they try to work me up for all types of stuff. Told me I periodontal disease and something like ten cavities.... I to the drive out to my old dentist, thinking I'm dying (was looking to change to someone closer to home when I went to Dental Concepts) and turns out I'm doing quite alright. Not ten cavities, but 2 and no gum disease either. This place was trying to do nothing but sell sell sell. Toothbrushes, mouth guards, gum treatments. They attack you all together and it really looks like they are all related to one another, to be honest. Never ever ever am I stepping my foot in that door. read more

First I want to say that I have been a patient for 3 years and still think that it's rare when you walk inside a business and they know you by name and make you feel like you are really part of their family. I love Dr. Patel, Nisha and their staff. They are very professional and courteous. Their office is modern and sharp. SO different than other places that I had gone in the past. They really care about their clean cut image. And the service and customer care is great. I'll probably be a patience for life. The only bad experiences that I've had have been insurance related...but that's out of their hands. The estimate is always fair...but dealing with dental insurances is a pain. I had my new patient appointment here yesterday. Everything was as smooth as possible. Kirsten assisted me in making my appointment and even discussed how the appointment would go. That really eased my anxiety about my visit. The office team is so helpful and happy. They really spend time educating you and thoroughly explain what are doing as well as the treatment plan. My hygienist was SO nice and I received the best cleaning in my life. All of their equipment is state of the art and they show you all of the images of your teeth at every angle and then the X-rays as well. This way Dr. Patel or the staff can explain things by showing you on a monitor in front of you what they are discussing. (All while still comfortably in the dentist chair. April is Cancer Awareness month and they were giving free cancer screenings and this is done by Dr. Patel. Dr. Patel is so friendly, kind, and very patient. He takes the time to explain your X-rays and any treatment that you may need. He also doesn't rush you to ensure you have had plenty of time to ask any questions. Nisha the Office Manager is extremely bubbly and will walk you through the process when you first get called. She could sense my anxiety and I felt she really went above and beyond to make sure that I had a wonderful visit and left feeling great and most importantly confident in my treatment. Dental Concepts is such an awesome office! I came to their office when I moved to the area and I had some very extensive work done. I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of work I needed done but the entire office was extremely kind and helped me get through the entire process. Fast forward to almost 2 years later, they have been nothing but wonderful to me and they make you feel so welcome from the moment you walk in their door. I recently had my teeth whitened there for my birthday and the process was amazing! I had trays made and I went through their bleaching process, all while getting to watch Netflix! I went to Dr Patel in 2011 for a cleaning. Imagine my surprise when I was told I had 8 cavities! Wow! I'd never had a cavity before (in fact, all my other dentists told me I had great teeth!). I let him do fillings on half. They didn't feel right so I went back to have them ground down. They still didn't feel right. So I traveled from Dallas to Austin to my old dentist, who told me I HAD NO CAVITIES. That's right. He looked at Dr Patel's xrays and at the teeth Dr Patel haven't filled and said they were fine. Then he fixed the fillings at Dr Patel did. Now in 2014, the only teeth that hurt are the ones that Dr Patel drilled and filled. I had no cavities but he drilled my teeth anyway. The other teeth? The ones he said had cavities but didn't drill? They're doing just fine. TL;DR: Don't go, he either doesn't know what a cavity looks like or lies about you having them. read more

I scheduled my appointment a MONTH in advance, I GAVE my insurance info and EVERYTHING. Last Thursday, I was called by a receptionist Melissa to confirm my appointment for the following Monday.... I decided to get a second opinion and that's when I went to Dental Concepts. Dr. Patel practices a conservative approach to care. He will not recommend anything he truly doesn't think that you need, and takes the time to help you make an informed decision about treatment. Just as happy now as I was back in 2012.
