The state park itself is beautiful. The trails and lake are great. We stayed at the lodge for a week. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. The restaurant and staff there were very good. Where it fell short for us was mostly the room. The room was very small, crowded, musty and in extreme need of updating. The bathtub has rust stains, the tile is old and grout is filthy. The carpet in the room is also filthy. There were spiders in the corners of the room. The air system was so loud! The door to the room had gaps so spacious that light from the hall poured in all night and everyone walking by sounded as if they were in the room with us. The chair in the room was stained. You get the point. The elevator safety certification in both elevators expired in 2024. Doesn't instill great confidence. My husband had never been here and I was so excited to share a place I had stayed at several times in my childhood. Unfortunately the experience was a bit of a letdown. There were no activities at all. The outdoor paved walking trail behind the lodge had maybe two of the lights working and the lanterns were filthy. I remember that path being lit so well at night that the frogs would be on the path catching insects that were drawn to the lights. There wasn't a frog to be seen or heard. With some TLC and renovations & perhaps an activities director, this could be a beautiful place to stay again. read more

This campground has it all: campsites with water and electric, full hook up and primitive sites. They also have lodging rooms, Yurts, a Marina, picknicking, disc golf, trails, a park store, tennis, basketball, full bar and restaurant. A true Resort! We only stayed for one night, and are now planning our next visit with anticipation. It was very quiet and our fellow campers were respectful. We slept well...no partiers until the wee hours, non-stop screaming children, earlier risers waking you up at the crack of dawn or any of that we've experienced elsewhere. Just pure peace and quiet - the way a campground should be. Well done, Degray, well done! read more

This is a spectacular state park and lodge. It is a real resort! There is excellent trails and so many nice camping sites beside the lake. There is easy boat ramp access and a fine sand beach. read more

Great food. We had the Thanksgiving meal and it was great like everything was great. People were great too. Love this place.

We had so much fun at Degray Lake! We stayed in the lodge for the weekend and had all kinds of stuff to do just at the park. We didn't do anything Friday besides check in and watch TV, but on Saturday we sat on the hotel's dock and looked at the beautiful lake and then had breakfast at the Shoreline Restaurant in the lodge. Then we rented bikes from the lodge. Bike rental is $3/hour. We tried renting kayaks but were too late in the day, so we played basketball and tennis on their courts with racquets and balls provided, and then checked out the beach. There are a few short hiking trails around (all with cute little park ranger videos explaining the trails) and we did the one near the lodge. We got up close and personal with a deer and its baby! On Sunday we swam in the pool before it was time to check out, and then went to go see the dam before leaving Arkansas. Overall, lots to do here for pretty cheap, and it's a great little escape from the hustle and bustle of city life! It's about 4 hours from Dallas. Definitely check it out! read more

We came all the way from Georgia to camp here with friends. If this is a good example of Arkansas state parks then I am impressed! From the easy check in to the great sites that are well designed and maintained. We got an RV site to put our Jeep with roof top tent on. It had a big tent pad also. Big area with a firepit and picnic table. Our friends stayed in the Yurts. They were very well done! Very large and well designed. We liked the Hot Springs area. It was close enough to head there for the day. Great state park. We will be back next spring for sure! read more

This place is WONDERFUL!! Tons of hiking, mountain biking and walking trails. The pool is huge and the restaurant is lovely with reasonable prices. We never had any reason to leave De Gray. We kayaked, swam in the lake and went fishing. Our ages ranged from 6-61 and we all agreed we couldn't have asked for a better experience. He staff was always ON!! They went above and beyond; perfect service. Our room had a spectacular View. We are returning in the fall for another adventure. read more

This is by far the best camping experience ever! We came here with our 5 children to tent camp for 5 nights. The bathrooms are nice and close by, the campgrounds are beautiful, and there's multiple free activities every day. Some free things include swimming at the beachfront swimming area, learning how to make a primitive fire, a lesson on snakes and a chance to pet them, nature hikes, geocaching, disc golf, and guided nature hike. We also went geocaching with a park guide via boat to some of the islands on the gorgeous lake, costing $38 for all 7 of us for about 2 hours. We rented pedal boats for $10/hour and went on a sunset cruise around the lake for $38. There's so many more that we didn't have time to participate in, including kayaking, snorkeling, golfing, tennis, and horseback riding. We will definitely be returning! read more

Loved this park, very clean bathrooms, just a very relaxing place to visit. Once you enter the park you have the visitor and souvenir shop which is nice to visit, staff wasn't as friendly as should be, but oh well not all can be 100%. read more

I probably cannot say enough good things about this place. We stayed for several days/nights at the lodge this summer. After coming from Texas (where the drought has sapped our lakes), the view of clear water was refreshing. The staff are all incredibly helpful and always polite and smiling. We rode horses, played golf, utilized the tennis and basketball courts and laughed at the fat little squirrel they feed at the administration offices (he likes chocolate covered pretzels, we were told). We also rented a boat from the marina and took our teenage daughters out to ski and tube. They had an absolutely brilliant time. We would all happily return to this oasis...with or without a reason. read more

Fun in the sun at DeGray! We rented a deck boat one day and party barge the next from the state park marina. Barry and team in the marina office were great; very nice and wonderful service! Big thanks to them for an excellent couple of days on the water. The boats were clean and in great shape. The kids had a blast tubing on both boats. The deck boat was able to pull a 3 person tube, but only 2 from behind the party barge. The lake is one of the nicest lakes we've been too; 86 degrees, clear, clean and beautiful surroundings. The camp sites are right on lake edge, kept clean and well maintained. All in all we had a 5-star vacation at DeGray and we'll definitely be back. read more

Awesome park. Arkansas is beautiful. The camp grounds are very nice. I was impressed by the bathrooms. Really nice for a camping area. We rented flat bottom boat for several hours and did some fishing. OMG! There are some big fish in that lake. Bring sturdy fishing gear. J and B had 3 fish hooked and those suckers fought hard. They didn't get any of them in the boat. One of them broke the rod. I really enjoyed the water. I swam all round the boat for hours and watched the fishing adventure. The water temp was perfect and can see about 6 feet down. The designated swimming area has much to be desired (wide but not deep - not enough room to swim out). Overall, it was a really nice place. Definitely one to return to. read more

We're staying here on spring break. I feel like t would be better to stay here in the summer because everything is closed around here. It doesn't help that the lake is flooded so the trails are closed too. Other than that, the campground is nice and the bathrooms are clean. read more

The lodge and one campground area are under some construction at this time due to flooding earlier in the year, however, the employees and management strive to meet the expectations of all travelers. The restaurant is a quaint space and the menu offers a wide array of options for all palates, while not sacrificing taste to do so. The Interpretive program at this park is fantastic. The interpreters have a great understanding of the parks' natural resources and how this place can enhance our lives. They have fun activities to keep every child and "kid at heart" entertained and also have fact finding activities for the budding scientist, and sunset boat tours for the romantics. We came here just for a few hours for the beach. It was perfect. There were tons of picnic tables, plenty of shade, and the beach wasn't too busy. The water was clean and warm. We will definitely come back and stay at the resort. Its very nice for a state park and prices are good. The beach/park is free. read more

We came in from WV on our way to TX and ate here for dinner. It was delicious! My husband had the pork cutlet, bake potato salad and green beans. He loved it! I ate their wonderful burger on sour dough bun. My kids had grilled cheese and nuggets. They devoured it! Highly recommend you stop in for Fat Boy's fine dining! read more

Quiet well maintained camp ground shaded by woods. Ample activities from golf to boating to cycling. Watch out for the poison ivy...it is everywhere! We will likely return to this great campground. read more

Beautiful lake with clear water. My husband's family has their family reunion there every year and everyone enjoys it. There's a pavilion you can rent out (which seats 100+) right on the water next to the boat ramp and restaurants. There's plenty of parking and lots of fun to be had here! read more

This is more a review of the Island Trail than of the lodge. We stopped in the lodge for coffee before hiking the Island Trail. Staff at the lodge was very friendly and helpful. The Island Trail is great. It provides great views of the lake and islands. The hike is easy and very enjoyable. It is good for getting some exercise and enjoying views of the lake!! read more

We loved our stay. Just a heads up, the webpage is very misleading. The lodge rooms are comfortable and clean but very tiny and TV's have no reception whatsoever. The food pictures for the restaurant are not even ON the menu. That said, it is a great place for families, we will surely go back, maybe in the fall to see the colors and the eagles. There's something for everyone here. The water was great, the beaches well-maintained, prices are reasonable and our "kids" aged 14, 22, and 24 were not bored for even a minute! read more

My family stayed in two rooms in the lodge from June 30th to July 2nd. We asked for lake view. Our view was out the window in the corner overlooking the pool and the lake. The children's view was just to the lake, nicer. It was OK, but you had to sit in the chairs by the window to see out. The beds were comfortable and even though the AC went on and off, a bit noisy, it did not seem to bother us. The room had a terrible smell which hit us as soon as we opened the door. It was worse in the bathroom. It smelled like the way water smells if it is left standing in a glass for over a week. There was no breakfast as part of the deal, but there was the Shoreline Restaurant. We ate there every morning. Morning staff was very pleasant, especially Jacob. Had dinner there and it was OK, but not outstanding. The pool was nice and clean, warmish, but nice for a dip. The trails were nice, but had lots of poison ivy beside them. The cemented walkway around the lodge had lots of geese poop. There were benches to sit on so you could look at the lake; very serene. We drove down to a beach and it looked nice, but we did not go there. We decided to check out a day early and the front desk staff were very accommodating by letting us do so without an extra charge. All in all, nice place, but was disappointed with the smell in the room. read more
