    Dancing to Deja Vu!

Joaquin and DeJa Vu are AMAZING!! We are from Houston and looked at flying a band to Cabo for the wedding and that would have been so stupid since this band is local and CRAZY TALENTED!! There is not a song they sing that you wont be dancing and singing along. Their energy stayed very high. They didn't take breaks, they dressed incredible and were so polished. The musicians actually played the songs and there is not a back track running the whole wedding. I am now thinking we flying Joaquin to the states to play weddings because he is better than most of the bands Ive seen!

Don't get the Alaskan king crab, it was diced up with apples and drowning in sauce, couldn't taste the flavor of the crab and couldn't tell if it was actual real crab. Service was good. The cariñoso and attentive Alejandro, Miguel, and Juanio treated me like a queen from the moment I set foot, but over the course of several days, they were able to provide even more recommendations for a good time in and around Cabo. Maracyúya margarita is a must-have. Aguachile negro was fantastic. I also tried a bunch of their other food offerings once I established bar Sur as my home away from home. The No-Cesar salad was crispy, flavorful, unique, and fresh. The Sushi was mostly freshly caught local offerings (minus the salmon, which was still good quality) with a bright sunny presentation and freshly made to perfection. The burger and fries hit the spot on day 2 when I was feeling some type of way. The poke bowl hit the spot, once again featuring locallly caught fish and very yummy combo of veggies, rice, and fruits with a ponzu sauce on the side. Oh, did Ii mention the view and the chill party vibe with the live sax player on deck? No, I didn't. Go to bar Sur and see for yourself - it's impossible to have a bad time.

While the food and service makes Tobasco's one of our favorite places, Teamo, a manager, was very rude and discourteous. Several other patrons said that they typically leave when he comes in the afternoon. There was an issue that was resolved by our waiter, Luis, for whom we are grateful. But we are left with a proverbial bad taste in our mouths by the hostile way in which Teamo treated us. It's very unfortunate for such a wonderful place, with delicious food and drinks and a perfect location on the beautiful beach. Hopefully, the owner will recognize the negative effect that Teamo presents to loyal customers like my friends and me, who return yearly almost every day of our trip, and appreciate the rest of the staff and all that Tobasco's offers otherwise.

Hidden gem? Understatement. A real find in a sea of tourist traps. Place was near-empty that night just a few souls scattered around making it feel private, intimate, almost romantic in that unpretentious, dimly lit way. No crowds, no chaos. Just easy vibes, the kind where you can actually talk, lean in, and forget you're in party central. Service was warm and on point: friendly without the hard sell, drinks cold and strong, margaritas that pack a punch without the sugar coma. Food hit the mark fresh, flavorful Mexican plates at prices that didn't feel like robbery. Solid value, no complaints. But the real showstopper? The queso. This guy comes out with the molten cheese dip, pours tequila straight over it, lights the damn thing up flames dancing, aroma hitting like a promise. He flambés it tableside with flair, the crusty bits at the bottom turning golden and addictive. We scooped it with chips like it was the last food on earth. That fiery spectacle? Highlight of the evening. Pure theater, pure joy, pure Mexico. In a town full of flash and overpriced bullshit, Esteban's delivers the goods: great ambiance, killer service, honest food, and one hell of a cheese show. Five stars, no hesitation. Stumble in, order the queso fundido con tequila, and let the night surprise you. Worth every peso. Go.

Cabo Wabo feels similar to a Hard Rock Cafe in both ambiance and menu. That said, it's not exactly what I'd seek out to eat in Cabo San Lucas. Who goes to Mexico for cheese fries and hot dogs? I ended up ordering a glass of wine and a mixed green salad, and honestly, it was better than I expected. The salad included romaine lettuce, tri-colored bell peppers, along with celery, cucumber, and a little avocado, finished with a tangy ginger vinaigrette. I'd love to see more healthy dishes, local cuisine, and gluten-free or vegan options on the menu here. The service was excellent, though there may have been a few too many servers, as they tended to hover a bit. Prices are also on the steep side for junk food. But overall, it was a better experience than I anticipated.
