I came to see Dr. Saif Zaman for my hand. I was very miserable and in pain all the time. He fixed my hand and I am no longer in pain.

I want to take a moment to thank the staff at Northside Hospital Gwinnett, especially the PC Unit…read more1200. First, I want to recognize the Emergency Room staff. They were prompt and immediately saw about my mother, Miss Dennis, and made sure she was admitted and received the attention she needed. In moments like that, quick action means everything to a family. I also want to recognize the attending physician, Dr. Herschel W. Smith, who admitted my mother to the PC Unit. He was amazing. He saw the need for immediate care and made sure my mother was taken care of and placed where she needed to be. His attention and action made a real difference for our family. One nurse stood out the most -- Nurse Charlize. She truly understood her assignment. During a very stressful time while my mother was being cared for, I had many questions and a lot of emotions. Even when there were things she could not answer because she wasn't the doctor, she reassured me and helped calm my spirit. She listened, not just as a nurse but as a compassionate human being. I was even able to share some personal things that were weighing on me, and she took the time to hear me. That kind of care matters more than people realize. I have been a private nurse in the state of Georgia for 26 years and have worked with many families, including some of the wealthiest in Buckhead. I left that work to care for my own mother, and I know firsthand that true caregiving requires passion, patience, and heart. Nurse Charlize showed all of those qualities. To the doctors, I apologize if my frustration showed. I just wished I had understood more about my mother's condition sooner rather than waiting many hours for answers. But I appreciate that the team continued working toward the best care. Moments like these reveal people's character. When someone is frustrated, it takes a special person not to respond with the same energy. Nurse Charlize handled everything with professionalism and grace. Thank you, Northside, for caring not only for my mother but also for the family standing beside the patient. That compassion matters. -- Author M. Clark

11/12/2025: Consultation with Dr. Bruner for accidents that left my entire upper-back in constant…read morepain, bicep & wrist weakness, numb & tingly fingers. MRI showed 4 cervical herniated discs, but he recommended 1-level fusion (since he's performed ~4000 fusions & ~40 ADRs). Being young and otherwise healthy, I'm anti-fusion and advocated for artificial disc replacement. Unsure if Dr. Bruner is biased/had outdated information, but he assured me that fusion DOESN'T limit mobility & that FDA only approves of 1-level ADR [untrue]. To my distaste, Dr. Bruner downplayed the difficulty of performing each surgery & mentioned how surgery makes him money. I don't play about my pain and health issues, so he eventually agreed to do ADR on my C5-6 *emphasis on C5-6* 12/18/2025 Surgery Day: I arrived at Northside 9:30am and was in pre-op for HOURS hooked up to dilaudid IV, then Dr. Bruner walks into my room saying "Ready to replace C6-7? If I cannot access C6-7 to replace, can I do a fusion there instead?" I rejected the fusion and replied "I thought we were only replacing C5-6". He checks his notes then said "Oh, you're right. I usually don't apologize but I'm sorry." Ultimately, Dr. Bruner canceled my surgery b/c my "MRI was too old" (which he should've mentioned AT LAST MONTH'S CONSULTATION), ordered me to get new MRI, and wanted to reschedule surgery to next week. Once again, Dr. Bruner suggested that I be "open-minded to fusion" & mentioned gladly performing my surgery b/c it is easy and will put money into his pockets. I urged the importance of doing my surgery soon since the new year was approaching, meaning I would have different health insurance (Kaiser Permanente) and would have to restart the whole process again. He promised that if I get ADR surgery at Emory (under KP), he would refer me to trusted fellow neurosurgeons. I left the hospital at 4:30pm after SEVEN HOURS of NOTHING. My boyfriend was also there and witnessed this ordeal. 12/24/2025: Scheduler called me to reschedule surgery date and got annoyed that I was hesitant to follow through after my TERRIBLE experience with Dr. Bruner. Her tone was like I should be grateful that Dr. Bruner is willing to take time out of his Christmas vacation to operate on me AS IF IT WASN'T HIS FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE. 1/2026: I chose the Emory route but Dr. Bruner refused to refer me to an Emory surgeon, lol who would've thought! TLDR: RUN !!! I've been in-and-out of doctors' offices for the past 4 years, and this is BY FAR the WORST healthcare experience I've EVER had. Dr. Bruner lives up to the negative neurosurgeon stereotypes (derogatory), Advanced Neurosurgery Associate front-desk lady is rude, surgery scheduler is rude. If helping people makes you miserable, then get another job! Only Toni the PA and the medsurg tech were pleasant.

They provided discharge papers and prescriptions and we were on are way . The room was pretty small and not really clean to be exact , plus the stuff is not locked away in the room i find that kinda dangerous.

This was my first and last experience with this hospital's Emergency Department…read more I arrived around 8:30 p.m. on a Sunday evening, and the ER was not particularly crowded. During the initial triage, the nurse practitioner, Deveane Atkinson, made what I felt were dismissive and judgmental comments about my daughter's condition, including saying, "Job security." That immediately set an unprofessional tone. Two hours later, my daughter was still in severe pain and had only received about half a bag of IV fluids, despite presenting with dehydration and persistent vomiting. She was then given oral medication, which she immediately vomited back up. I informed the nurse that she was unable to keep the medication down. Approximately 45 minutes later, the nurse practitioner returned and told us that my daughter's lab results were normal and that there was nothing more they could do. At that point, my daughter was still writhing in pain, actively vomiting, her IV fluids were barely infusing, and the oral medication had been ineffective because she couldn't keep it down. We had already been in the ER for nearly four hours with no meaningful improvement. I informed the nurse practitioner that a different medication had successfully treated these symptoms during a previous episode. I was simply told, "No, she's not getting that." When I expressed concern that discharging her in this condition would likely result in us returning to the emergency room because the issue had not been resolved, the response I received was, "That's fine." The nurse later returned with discharge paperwork, administered two medications through the IV, and discharged my daughter while she was still in significant pain and actively vomiting. This is not the level of care, compassion, or professionalism I expect from an emergency department. Unfortunately, my concerns proved to be valid. As I predicted, we returned to the emergency room the following day--this time at the main Piedmont Atlanta facility. There, my daughter received compassionate, appropriate treatment and is finally on the road to recovery. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend Piedmont Rockdale's Emergency Department. I sincerely hope this review leads to improvements in both patient care and communication so that other families do not have a similar experience.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!…read more Piedmont Fayette is a great hospital. My husband and I were in a terrible car accident last night. We chose this hospital because we've been here before and have always had great experiences. The nurses and Dr that took care of us were excellent. I have a fractured arm and etc, and my husband is banged up pretty bad. But, God is good. We will be ok.

I apologize for the length of this post. I have had to have a few procedures since 2022. All,…read moreexcept one, have been preformed at Piedmont Henry. I would like to break my review into sections. DOCTORS and theirs PAs: I have been treated by Dr. Choi, Dr. Orcutt, Dr. Schmidt, Dr Nourbakhsh and Dr. Wimbush. I received excellent care and attention from each one. I have to address Daniel Brown. by himself. He is a PA but he has been invaluable in my care throughout. Dr. Wimbush literally saved my life by recognizing I had blood clots and sending me out for evaluation. She also recognized the pain I was having in my neck needed immediate attention and sent me to Dr. Choi. She and Jessica (her PA) have left Piedmont and I consider that a great loss for this hospital. I can't begin to tell you all the things she did for me. It would make this post longer than it will be. Dr. Choi performed my Cervical surgery. He did a wonderful job. He wasn't the best when it comes to communication but that's why you have to do your research. He has left the hospital too. Dr. Nourbakhsh performed my spinal surgery and he did an excellent job. I have suffered from serious back pain for years and just recently could barely walk. I am 100% better now and any pain I have is nothing compared to where I was. I am very happy. Dr Orcutt performed my scope on my knee and will be performing my total knee replacement in about 24 hours. I have complete confidence in his abilities. That's where your research comes into play. I'm not looking forward to the surgery and pain but I'm confident I am in good hands. Unfortunately he is leaving next year. Dr. Schmidt was the first Dr. I encounter here. He evaluated me after I came here from another practice after they were ready to do hip surgery without doing their own evaluation. I ran. He let me know I have a few miles left on these worn hips. I was grateful. Daniel Brown has been the person giving me shots, discussing my options and keeping me out of pain as much as possible. He has a way of putting you at ease and working with you to keep you moving until you get up the nerve to have surgery. He is leaving with Dr Orcutt and will be a great loss to this hospital. Thanks to all of you for the care I have received in your hands. THE STAFF: The clinical staff is great!!! THE EMERGENCY ROOM: A total NO GO!!! I pray I never have to go there again. I can address these in a different post of you are interested.

When I walked in the RN(A black woman with her hair in a bun) I didn't catch her name she was so…read moresweet and helped me right away, even had someone from medical records to update and merge my charts. She had to tell the rude lady Jewel(white) to assist the other lady that was sitting in the waiting room and her response was she didn't know anyone was back there she saw someone came in through ambulance. The sweet lady was like no it's literally someone sitting in the waiting room. Jewel responds with I can't keep sitting here with this light flickering I knew then she was going to be a problem. So when it came time for me to have vitals done Jewel called me I sat in the chair it's 6am I'm sick and had been sick for days with flu like symptoms and my temperature would not drop. So she says she's going to do a Strep flu and Covid I said I had a flu and Covid test done yesterday because I was at another Urgent care yesterday and it was negative and the Dr informed me if my Temperature didn't drop to go to the Emergency room so that's what I did she tells I'm going to call him Nurse Nick I think that's his name (he has a nose ring) she tells him I refused testing I said no I never refused it I just told her that I was tested yesterday and it was negative. He said our test checks for everything and sometimes the rapid test doesn't pick up everything so he tested me and swabbed my throat. Simple and after I got my clinical notes I see that she also fabricated that I wouldn't take off my jacket and that she advised me too such a liar they need to put her somewhere else because dealing with people is not it. She's such a liar and maybe just maybe she was having a bad day but to think the amount of people that have to deal with that while being sick is crazy. I did have the sweetest nurse Josie so kind and compassionate and cared about me feeling better I truly appreciate her and the nose ring nurse and the RN that checked me in wish I could've gotten her name.
