I was mad (at the contractor that screwed me) but didn't really have a choice. Custom Blind & Carpet called me the next day and said they'd spoke with the rep and the rep agreed to drive out the box itself. So no freight fee. I was also in a major time crunch to get this box ASAP as we were installing new closet within 2 weeks. Somehow they were able to get the floors in store literally the next day. Idk how they worked that magic but I will be forever grateful for them pulling out the stops for one small order. They saved my very sideways already messy renovation.

When we were finally helped, the guy was polite and like oh well since you're only interested in those and pulled these books out the back (like old crates lol) which were the different colors and material types of vertical blinds they have (limited). There wasn't much conversation /education on the vertical blinds and no options or advice outside the couple books we'd been presented. We asked for a quote from My WIndow Solutions, got one that was quite good. We had explained the rationale for getting a replacement window (the leak). Parry sent over his crew right away to caulk around the existing one so we wouldn't get any incursion while waiting for the new one to arrive and get installed. Nice! For this job, I had also asked to have a custom window casing and deep windowsill built. We agreed that I'd buy the materials (a particular trim profile and hardwood species), prime them, and they'd do the cutting and installation. This collaboration worked perfectly.

We were busy Thursday, so we discussed possibly meeting the following day, but Damon was supposed to confirm by phone. He never called. Ironically, we actually had an opening Thursday and tried to make it work. I called the office, and the receptionist took a message for Damon. He never returned the call. I called him myself on Friday around 12:50 PM. He said, 'Oh, I'm working on your estimate right now, I'll send it to you.' Funny how he knew exactly which brand and product line we had chosen, while still claiming he never received the receptionist's message. Lie and another lie. This guy threw his co-worker under the bus without any hesitation. By the way, when I called the office again on their next business day, the receptionist confirmed she had given Damon the message. What else Damon lied or will lie about??? He came across as a sleazy salesperson. Most disappointing of all, Damon never sent the estimate, so when I called the office again I canceled their service. I let the employee know that I specifically wanted the mid rail of my shutters to line up with the mid rail of my windows (they are the type that slide up to open) so he took extra care to make sure everything matched up. A few weeks later they returned to install the shutters. I've had them for about a year now. I recently called them for a warranty repair (a couple of the frames were rubbing together, likely due to settlement) and they came out within a week and fixed them free of charge. Overall just a very solid experience. They're a responsive, no hassle company and their products are well priced and good quality.

I only had issues with the plastic hardware cracking and needing to be replaced. I called the office and asked about the cost of just the hardware. To my surprise, the person I spoke with didn't ask how many pieces were broken; he asked for my address, and a few days later I received the hardware. The replacement hardware he sent was generous. Now, that's what I call exemplary customer service and satisfaction!! I will call again soon for another quote.
