I stopped in here Friday on the first day of May to pick up my Foo Fighters vinyl album. As I parked, I kept telling myself to get in, get out since I was on somewhat of a tight schedule. But after walking in, I wound up staying an extra 10 minutes marveling at the beauty of the store and it's impressive record selection. There are plenty of vinyl selection available for purchase; plus you can order whatever they don't carry and pick it up at the store (hence the Foo Fighters album). Plus there's cds and cassette tapes adorning the shelves that brings some 80's-90's nostalgia. And they are available for purchase. The store is family-run with owners who are nice and welcoming. We made some small talk and I mentioned I was in San Antonio on business. They appreciated me coming in and picking up a record from them. We mentioned I'll be back the next time I'm in San Antonio to check out their inventory and perhaps come away with some more music material. I definitely intend to make that happen soon! read more

It's rare these days to find a family owned shop who's withstood the test of time... and that should show not only the quality in their products but also a testament to who they are as a business. A shoutout to Javier and his sister for not only making us feel welcomed but playing the best jams. Lots of varieties of cds, vinyls, cassette tapes from all genres. This place was so cool! But I'll start with why not 5 stars: The only reason I docked a star and really if I could have it would only have been half a star was the odor. I don't know if they own cats or what but the litter box smell was pretty overwhelming. It almost drove me away but I was excited to see this place. Now for the good stuff. This place is truly a gem in this city. The outside is so cute and catches the eye. I arrived on a beautiful sunny day and could hear festive tejano music playing. That really set the vibe. Inside was great! This store does specialize in tejano and conjuto etc but also has classic rock, some old country, soul and r&b, and more. They also have brand l new releases. They have multiple formats: vinyl, cd, cassette, 45s etc. In addition to music they have some other fun buys. There were cute stickers, coffee cups, tshirts and hats. Plenty of Selena swag. Taylor Swift swag. This is a woman owned business that has been passed down which I love. I spoke with the owner and she was so nice and helpful. If they didn't have what i was looking for she was ready to look it up and order it for me. I would absolutely recommend that everyone keep this local spot in business. I've known about this record shop for a little bit and finally stopped by today. When me and my girlfriend went in we were greeted by the owner and we're kind of shown around to know where each genre is. Keep in mind that this is a majority tejano and latin music record shop, there is a section for other genres but it's a smaller (but still great) selection. They had just what we were lookin for and even something I personally wasn't expecting to find. The prices were pretty good price ranges and the owner gave us a little tour of her fathers office who passed a few years back but was heavily involved in Tejano music. I went first by myself and the lady was no help. Never asked me if I needed it or even a greeting when I walked in. I asked for Selena and she acted like she never heard of her. I wet in the next day with a neighbor and again no greeting towards me but she greeted him like she knew him lol. Go figure and I saw the display case of Selena items she could have told me the day before. But they have been there since 74 lol. I guess you have to have a certain look for her lol. Cool record store, friendly owner, and nice merch. Sifted through records with my husband. Even tho the signs outside say Tejano/Cojunto, etc... they have a little bit of everything. I was out running around town with my mother all day going from record store to record store looking for some Tejano music and we were unable to find the oldies type she was looking for as a gift for my dad who was coming to town to visit. We asked a girl who worked at FYE in the mall and she directed us to this place as it was close to her home. We were so glad she did. They have all sorts of new and old Tejano and Cumbia music at great prices. Some are 3 CD's for $20 bucks and they even had Cassette tapes. Crazy lol Needless to say, my mom found what she was looking for and at great prices and the owner was there and was very nice helping my mom find what she wanted. I love this place ! Ever since moving to San Antonio, I've become a huge Tejano music fan, and like one of the other posters stated, this is a hidden treasure of Tejano music and culture. First, the outside is photo-worthy...bright, festive colors, Tejano music playing on the loudspeaker outside too. The owner, or who at least I think the owner is, is super-motivated and super-helpful. If they don't have something you're looking for, she has a giant catalogue and will try to find it for you elsewhere and order it. I think the greatest compliment I can give is I have Apple Music and Amazon Music Unlimited, and honestly can get a lot of what I want in those subscriptions, but I come here and pick up CDs, simply because I believe in the value of brick and mortar music stores, especially when it's ran by people who have a genuine love and passion for the product they sell. This is extremely rare in today's retail world dominated by big box places where the employees could really care less. read more
