The staff mainly stayed at the back desk which I found not bad because it gave me space to find what I was looking for and more. The prices differed and one thing could cost 7.99, another, $22. As with the other CD Exchanges, you're almost guaranteed to find whatever it is you're looking for and so much more. As a fan of martial arts movies, I really enjoy this location as their selection has consistently been better and varied than some of the other locations'. The trade off is that their game selection isn't as impressive. That's not to say that it isn't good, there is in fact a lot to look through, I've just found more hidden gems at other locations. Though I typically skip over the front part if the store during my visits, it is worth mentioning that there is a TON of music to go through and an impressive amount of memorabilia such as action figures and Funko Pop!s, posters, bags and shirts, and a lot more. Everything is fairly priced and there have been instances where I've paid less than what I would have elsewhere or online. If you're a movie buff looking for a quiet place to pass the time, you absolutely have to visit the Movie Exchange.

It is located in a strip mall off Fredericksburg, and it won't be found unless ones looking for it, which I was. It is not a very big place, but it does have a lot of knickknacks, including an impressive collection of stickers, bookmarks, and vinyl records, to name a few. It actually is a pretty neat place. The books are used and for the most part they're very reasonably priced. They do not have an inventory of the books, so you do have to look through shelves, if looking for a particular title. And their staff is only one person at the cashier. Which is to say that you can browse to your heart's content, and discover some major reads. They also had quite a few boxes of books that were under one dollar or $.50. This is one of those places that I intend to return to, because of pricing and to support small businesses. I truly recommend visiting this place. It makes for a fun visit.

But after walking in, I wound up staying an extra 10 minutes marveling at the beauty of the store and it's impressive record selection. There are plenty of vinyl selection available for purchase; plus you can order whatever they don't carry and pick it up at the store (hence the Foo Fighters album). Plus there's cds and cassette tapes adorning the shelves that brings some 80's-90's nostalgia. And they are available for purchase. The store is family-run with owners who are nice and welcoming. We made some small talk and I mentioned I was in San Antonio on business. They appreciated me coming in and picking up a record from them. We mentioned I'll be back the next time I'm in San Antonio to check out their inventory and perhaps come away with some more music material. I definitely intend to make that happen soon!

A shoutout to Javier and his sister for not only making us feel welcomed but playing the best jams. Lots of varieties of cds, vinyls, cassette tapes from all genres. They even have a section dedicated to Numero Group releases, which I thought was super rad. If you want to try your hand at the bargain bin, there's a room with 50-cent records, too. I always end up walking out with more than 2 records each visit as their pricing and selection is worth visiting each time. The layout of the shop is great. I recommend starting left side of the shop and work your way around to the right side. You will find all genres sorted out and organized in a very simple and easy to navigate way. Most of the newest arrivals (from folks who are selling or trading their records in) to the back left side. I like starting here just in case I end up finding something cool that just came in. It's a nice way to be able to see what came through to the shop in the last day or two and these records are always diverse in genre. I really enjoy the vintage collection the shop has as decor here. I have seen 8-track players, lunch boxes, older posters from classic albums, cassette players, and even some cool nostalgic childhood toys. I kept smiling at each vintage or throwback items I saw that often tells you "not for sale" or "NFS" stickers on it. As a record collector I take the condition of records seriously before purchasing. I am the annoying record collector who will slide the record out of the sleeve and bend it up to the light to check for scratches, dirt, dust, etc. The last few visits at Crazy Rhythms I have been purchasing and not checking the condition or quality because I trust what I am getting is going to be playable and no bumps/hiccups when I do play them. You will get very good to high-quality records here no doubt. Just heads up - every record collector should know that the cheaper the price (aka clearance or discounted items) usually the quality will suffer but THAT IS NOT THE CASE HERE. You will get better than great quality records and anything that is priced low is probably overstock, common record/selection, and is always priced fairly. You can trust in this record store. Trust. Parking is super easy - just pull right up to the front of the store or park in the private lot. Even when the tourist attractions are busy around the store you will most definitely be able to stop in without having to worry about parking. Parking is never a thing for me even when Fiesta is happening. Check out the selections I have picked up in the few times I have come thru in my photos.
