Camp Pendleton's best hidden spot. I can't wait to come back. One benefit of still being in the service. Open to active duty, reserves/guard, veterans/retired. Great service, respectful tenants staying, quiet and peaceful base. You can also bring an RV and camp.

Such a beautiful day at the beach! We feel so grateful to have this on Camp Pendleton. Access to this beach is one of the perks as a retired Air Force veteran. We hadn't been here in years. We were aware that there are cottages that could be rented here but we did not realize there is a Ramones Cantina and rented cabanas. We ordered margaritas from Ramones and then shave ice from a food truck. So refreshing! The cabanas can be rented for $50 per day through Beach Services. Lots of folks boogie boarding & families enjoying the day. There's a nice playground for the kids. I can't wait to bring my grandson here. There is RV parking and ample vehicle parking. We saw a lot of tents throughout We're pleasantly surprised at how nice it truly is here. So glad we got a good dose of Vitamin D and clean air! We're making plans to rent a cabana one of these days!

This place is always a home run. Everyone over the phone and in person are professional, patient, kind and efficient. This time we stayed in the marina. It's remarkable how nice the villas are and we are grateful. Bravo Zulu!

Beautiful campground! Unfortunately, when it rains it does flood a lot, so if rain is in the forecast be prepared to have waterproof shoes. Beyond that we were in spot #33 which was located at the far end of the campground (the last site on the beach) so neighbors only on one side. The WiFi at this spot was pretty spotty so we used our hotspots to stream a movie during the downpour. I think you probably wouldn't have this issue if you were at a site a bit closer to the office/router area. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. The beachfront sites ($90.00 X night) have spectacular views and access to the very large beach area. However, for $80.00 x night sites the walk to the beach is 30 seconds, so no real bad sites. Everyone was very friendly. The grounds also have a walk up cantina you can get alcoholic drinks and bites. There is also a kid friendly cove which is a really cool thing if you have kiddos (really safe since there really aren't any crazy swells). In all, a great experience and looking forward to coming back when the suns out so we can have our buns out! lol. Happy camping!

First time staying at the literal end of the Summer season. My first night was summer prices, and the second night was winter prices. The Good: The cottages are nice and functional. You have two reserved parking spaces in front. The bed was comfortable with 4 pillows. The bathroom provided soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The kitchen had a coffee maker and toaster, plus a full-sized stove and refrigerator. There were two large screen flat TVs. It's pretty much right on the beach. And this beach is well-maintained, as I saw them on early Monday morning with a bulldozer making sure the sand berm was in perfect condition. There wasn't a ton of people on the beach. I remember coming a few weekends earlier and the beach was packed. Each cottage had a patio table, a weber type charcoal grill, and a fire pit. There is a marine mart (for retirees, military, etc) that sold a ton of snacks and firewood. They do check IDs. There is always the commissary on Mainside for meats and more detailed supplies. Or not far in Oceanside, there is a mini Walmart, 99 cent store, etc. On the weekend, there was a Dunkin Donuts food truck in the parking lot in the morning. The Bad: The DirectTV went out on one of the TVs. Covid19 changes meant no daily room cleanings. Covid19 meant that you were given some paper plates, bowls, cups, and plastic flatware. I used the plates as kindling for the fire. There was nothing to cook with: pots, pans, etc. The WiFi was out the entire weekend. Indifferent: Most of the other people staying in the cottages are families and retirees. Some of the marines use the beach for runs and workouts early in the weekday morning. The Del Mar gate closed at 8 PM and reopened at 6 AM Conclusion: If you want a clean beach experience for the cost of the nicer hotel rooms in Oceanside, this is the place. I think I'll be back but on a busier weekend or July 4th if I can score that week.

Great beach here on Camp Pendleton. The crowd isn't bad at all and parking is very easy.

Awesome place, safe and priced right! Beach is clean and safe, atmosphere is amazing. You may even get to see some amazing tactical vehicles.

Hard to beat a single bedroom beach cottage with a kitchen and patio to enjoy an almost private beach! Perfect place to enjoy sunsets and destress as you listen to the waves. Great watching point too in the morning of the surfers. Due to Covid the cottages are providing a few paper plates, bowls, cups and utensils instead of the kitchenware they used to be stocked with. They still have pots and pans for patrons to use in the cottage. Staff at the office were friendly and accommodating.

This is my favorite place to camp ! It's right on the beach. They have cottages you can rent or RV campsites or even tent space to rent. We have an RV so we usually do the RV camping. We have done the cottages it's right on the beach and fun getaway. They have a ice cream truck that drives thru the site. They sometimes have the Dole whip Truck parked there although they weren't there the last time we came. A Volleyball net was set up nearby.

First time at this beach. Have to have a military base access. Super nice beach. You can camp off the beach. They have a small restaurant off the beach. There's a kids play area in the beach. The beach is open to about 8-6 and base rules are that you can't go into the water after those hours. No life guard in duty. If you are able to get on the base and like benefit of having less people on a Cali beach then you can't go wrong here.

The first summer was partial ocean view with a balcony and the second, third, and fourth booking we paid an upgrade for an ocean view with a balcony. After checking in this July at 11:30 am, we got into our room at 2:30 pm. We discovered that we didn't have a balcony like the other 3 visits. Instead, we had a Juliet or faux balcony. We could only step outside, not move around, nor sit. The balcony was essentially a giant window looking at their sister property Mission Pacific and the street. We had no balcony to sit and look at the ocean view we booked and PREPAID for as an upgrade 5 months prior to the stay. I called the front desk. They claimed we booked a room with a Juliet balcony and had no other availability. This is untrue, per the listing image I have included in this review. They offered us a balcony with city view or a room with a king-sized bed. We were a family of 4 traveling with 2 teenagers. They offered no other help or compensation. At Costco's suggestion, I asked about their sister property next door and I asked them to include the reduced valet and our food credits that were part of the February package we already paid for. When I checked in next door at Mission Pacific, I discovered our reservation hadn't been transferred. It had only been re-booked and we needed to pay the market rate for the next 4 nights even though we pre-paid $2300+ for Seabird back in February. I spent at least a half-hour at the front desk trying to negotiate and get a room resembling what we had paid for 5 months ago. MP's management was great and was able to accommodate our requests. After THREE HOURS of stressing and trying to solve this issue, we finally had some type of resolution. We stayed at MP from July 6-10. At about 4pm July 10, Seabird Hyatt emailed me to remind me that they arranged for our move to Mission Pacific, and provided a $300 resort credit along with discounted valet parking as a gesture of goodwill. ABSOLUTELY NOT! They made us a reservation only, and the resort credit and discounted valet parking was part of the package we paid for back in February! Absolutely NOTHING was provided as a gesture of goodwill. Furthermore, our Costco package included a rental car that we had no intention of using, but the price was cheaper. We ended up losing about $36 for the stress of booking at Seabird Hyatt, with an upgraded room with ocean view that was downgraded upon arrival. Seabird had the entire week of our stay to contact us and attempt to make things right. We are quite disappointed in the way this hotel treats their return guests. I do not recommend Seabird Hyatt in Oceanside, California at all.

They have sent my points on to Interval without my permission and then told me they were doing a courtesy by giving me back my points! Then when I said, I want to keep all of my points with you for this time, they ended up suspending 180 /240 points- after paying two thousand dollars for HOA fees. They could have made an exception... Joyce simply did not care....terrible customer service. She told me I could exit and try to sell the property ( and that is very difficult , because people have a wizened up to timeshares scams? ) Joyce from resolutions was very cold and rude.... I look at that as theft. They might seem nice , but they don't take care of their clients and they make a lot of mistakes and they don't remedy them. And who knows why they have that kind of attitude? Maybe they are not paid well or treated well , and that's why they treat their clients as such. We appreciated the complementary breakfast. The towels and bedding were clean, and the hotel staff kept providing fresh, clean towels throughout the day, which was a nice touch. The beach attendants were friendly, the hotel provides sand toys for kids, and we really enjoyed the live music in the evenings. The location is excellent and made it easy to enjoy the beach. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our room upon arrival was disappointing. The toilet seat had what appeared to be blood or feces on it, there was urine around the base of the toilet, which made it seem like the bathroom floor hadn't even been mopped, and there were crumbs and bits of food, along with a few dead bugs, around the beds. Thankfully, I had hand sanitizer with me and cleaned the bathroom before my children used it. A few other things to note: the balcony door was difficult to open, there was no screen door, and the complimentary beach chairs are quite small and may not be comfortable for larger adults. The sheets also seemed too small for the mattresses and kept coming off the corners during the night, which made sleeping less comfortable, no mattress covers. The beach itself is beautiful but fairly small, so it becomes crowded quickly. One suggestion for future guests: please rinse the sand off before you are getting into the pool, I witnessed people rinsing off im the pool after beach then after 2-3 minutes they came out and went upstairs. The pool is not a shower and the sand on the bottom of the pool hurt. Also, once you're finished using the beach loungers, remove your towels instead of leaving them behind. It was difficult to tell which chairs were actually occupied and which were available because many loungers had towels left on them. Overall, this hotel has a fantastic location and several nice amenities, but better attention to room cleanliness and a few small improvements would make a big difference. * also bring water shoes, the rocks at the beach are very painful*
