I needed a specialty tire "right now". Shit! You know the story, poor planning on my part doesn't create an emergency on theirs. So was obvious at tire shop after tire shop. I called shops all over southern Oregon, no joy. I called Del Norte in Northern Ca and they were able to get the tires in the next morning. Folks, it was late in the afternoon, yet somehow they were able to get the tire in just a few (working) hours when everyone else needed several days to a week. I arrived the next morning and the tires we there as promised. In about 30 minutes I was out the door and back in business at a fair price. I couldn't be more impressed. Give Del Norte Tire a chance to earn your business. I predict that you'll be a repeat customer. I certainly will be. I live in Crescent City, and have always purchased my tires here. I drive a 2001 Prius that has developed some serious mechanical problems over the years, and the mechanics have always been able to correct the issues. The prices seem very reasonable, and the entire crew seems to work well together. It was originally a tire shop. They still sell tires, but also have 5 bays with lifts that seem to always be full when I go there. It's a superb business. I strongly recommend them. read more

we have heard terrible things about the Crecent City Les Schwab so we decided to go to Del Norte Tire, but I would advise anyone that is thinking not to we have had terrible quality control issues with this shop. My wife was on her way to work when they forgot to torque down her lug nuts and her tire ended up coming off the rim and she almost crashed another time we got new tires put on and the didn't even bala the tire properly or at all as a old tire technician myself, I would advise nobody to go to the shop or you might just get yourself killed read more

Absolutely the worse service I have ever had. They told me an alignment would take an hour. It took 3 1/2 hours. When I asked him about it he said it was a scheduling error. Will never go back again. Grumpy people and awful management! read more

What a great tire shop! A few days prior, our car rental light kept turning on and when we'd put air in it, then it'd turn off. The following morning, the light would turn on again and thats when we decided to stop here at Del Norte Tire Service. The gentleman had us wait 30 minutes until he could assist us. He checked on the tire that was giving us trouble and sure enough there was a nail in it. He saved our vacation since we were only half way up on our road trip up PCH. He charged us $20 to get the nail out and get us going on our trip. This was the only tire shop along with maybe another one that was 20 miles away so we didn't have very many options. Friendly service and he didn't make us wait very long! We were back on the road again within the hour. read more

I had a flat tire and wasn't sure if I had damaged my wheel. We were stuck and didn't know where to have the car towed. George's Auto recommended Del Norte Tire and when I called them they couldn't have been nicer. They could tell I was upset and when Dan assured me he would take us home and then drive the car back to his shop, we felt very relieved. I was was on a 6 day road trip in my motorhome and began to have battery issues - like the engine would hardly turn over. Got it started and pulled in Monday morning, friendly crew, clean shop. My battery and starter checked out- so now the process of elimination and electrical troubleshooting began. Bill, the Ace Mechanic and all around smart guy, got his meter and found the problem quickly. Turned out to be a failing battery disconnect switch. We decided to remove that "weak link" from the system and it fired right up and I'm back on the road. If you need help in Crescent City, Ca, these guys will take care of you. These people saved my girlfriend and I's road trip. We had a drive line that needed replacing. Instead of paying for a new one and waiting the week for it to come in, they called around for us and found us a used one they could get by the next day, saving us hundreds of dollars and days of time. We lost only one day of our road trip (which we spent in the nearby Redwoods!) instead of having to find a different way home. Everyone was friendly. Went on a road trip with my fiancé and her sister. Noticed my tire pressure for all 4 tires were low, so I stopped by right when they opened to have my tires checked. Kiang was able to help me by checking the pressure on all four tires and putting in air very quickly. I offered to pay but they told me it was fine, no charge. I was displeased with the way we were dealt with here. We were already in a frustrating situation in which we had to drive an extra two hours to pick up a moving truck and were told a lot of things from the original place that didn't wind up working out when we got there. It all worked out, but we could have been treated more respectfully especially given our frustrations. While the young man helped us, there was this older gentleman who had a problem with his vehicle, once they repaired his tire they said to him not to worry about the cost, how fantastic to see an elder be treated with such respect, it obvious they care for their customers I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone in need of tires while traveling on US Highway 101. read more

I've gone here for years, and have always received a fair deal. The owner is incredibly hard working, and is always happy to give me a ride to work, or whatever's needed while my car, or truck is being worked on. They always get what I ask done in a timely fashion, and have even done work for free! (Flats, nail repair etc.) Very pleased with their service. Dan and his team were absolutely amazing and truly genuine people. We were passing through town on a road trip and needed a new tire, and they went above and beyond for us. We stopped in just after they opened but the tire we needed wasn't arriving until the afternoon, and they insisted on setting us up with a tire they had so we could still get out and enjoy the day. Dan even gave us tips on where to spend our day. When we got back and finished up, I was pleasantly surprised that the price was substantially lower than his initial estimate, and we ended up paying over $300 less than we were quoted elsewhere. This place save my butt. I was passing through. In my home van conversion, and one of the bolts on my upper tire arm broke. These guys got me right in, and gave me a fair price. I never got the impression that they were trying to price gouge me... Or that they were being dishonest. Very upfront. They helped me find a hotel for the night, and even drove me to and from and showed me around places where I could grab some food. Top-notch work, and customer service. Couldn't be more impressed.
