Scum bag dealership... who threw every excuse they could…read more Scheduled a battery replacement service for $259.95 online that included the battery and labor charges all in one. This ACDelco gold battery cost $175 pretty standard at most dealerships to include the Lafayette GMC. The additional $85 packed into this service is the labor fees and installation costs FOR A BATTERY install. We agreed to pay that knowing $85 is quite a large cost associated with a battery install when most places will install the battery completely for free (would have walked out the door paying $175+tax). We were willing to pay additional money to have a "reputable" dealership.. or so we thought.. install the battery and do any additional simple reset steps that sometimes are needed. This is where it gets bad. After scheduling a service online for $259.95 + a coupon for $10 off a service, my wife went into the easy appointment. It was already booked and selected and agreed on the pricing. However, when they saw a pregnant woman who needed to get to work in a timely manner (it took them 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to our scheduled appointment for a battery to be replaced)... they nickel and dimed the hell out of her. Charging a labor fee on top of the $85 labor already baked into the battery service... not giving her the $10 coupon we selected when we scheduled the appointment... and charging a petty "shop supplies" fee for a battery replacement. When she got home, I immediately called the dealership to inquire why everything was so off and wrong. Adam's reply was "we are eating the cost of the labor and the battery". I immediately called him out on that as I had already looked up the price of the batteries AND called the Lafayette GMC to confirm that battery was $175 without installation. When Adam was called out, he said "there's nothing we can do". By doing so, the Delphi Mann City GMC committed false advertising on the price of the service we scheduled AND then further false advertised the $10 discount we applied and then further degenerately charged labor fees on top of and already high $85 shop charge to install a car battery that is under the hood...

I brought my car there a little over a month ago with an oil leak. I told him i was pretty sure it…read morewas a warped plastic oil pan but the guy assured me it was the oil level sensor. He assured me that lots of cars have plastic oil pans and it's nothing to worry about. So i pay him $700 to fix it. Turns out it didn't fix my leak, was leaking just as badly. So i brought it back to him, and what do you know? Hes explaining to me on the phone that it's because the plastic oil pan was warped. He did seem to feel sorry and give me a good deal on replacing the oil pan, so i spent another 500. He tried to say that fixing one oil leak can cause another, but the oil was clearly leaking from the oil pan the first time i brought it in. I even have obvious photos of it from before I ever brought it to him the first time. I shouldn't have let him convince me it was the sensor. Could he be right? Maybe. But I think the evidence leans towards he made a mistake. Which is fine, mistakes happen. But he could at least admit it.

She said without hesitation that I should go to Lafayette Auto Plus on Farabee Drive. That turned out to be one of the best tips I've ever gotten. As she predicted, they explained several options and gave me estimates (quite reasonable) for the two options I was considering. They did exactly what they said for the price they had said and in the time frame they had given me. In addition, everyone I spoke to answered all my questions clearly and fully, was extremely pleasant, and gave me excellent advice. They did not sell it out from under me (thank you Down The Road Motors!). When the vehicle was on the lot, the buying process was easy and they allowed me to get a private inspection--big plus! The mechanic that inspected my car said that the brakes were brand new, and the belts in great condition. He said it was a great little car and encouraged me heavily to buy it. He said he would've drove it round the country that day with full confidence. My new car did start making a belt noise a few days after purchase, and the mechanics at Down the Road Motors squeezed me right in to get my car fixed up and taken care of, no cost on me. Overall, my vehicle was a good value for what it is, however it does have cosmetic issues, mostly scratches and a leaky seal at the top, but that's what you get with an "as-is" used car. My only recommendation is to make sure you look over a car thoroughly to see if it's missing any seat heads, levers, etc--which should be done with any used car! I wasn't told about the things my car was missing so I had to look it over well, nothing that was missing made it worth not buying!
