Del Sol Market is a great addition to the Foothills area! I love that they have an in store restaurant for those days when you don't feel like cooking. My go to order is the caldo de res. It's so flavorful and comforting. Prices are very reasonable too. I was able to grab eggs and fresh tortillas for under $2. Great food, great value, and super convenient. We like having Del Sol Market in the Foothills area. It's convenient. We haven't tried the deli yet but love the fresh tortillas. They have a great selection of items but prices are a little high for weekly shopping trips but for quick pick up items you forgot/need it's perfect. Every staff member has been courteous & professionals but you can definitely tell the store hasn't been open long or the employees are new as questions are usually answered with "I don't know." The big issue is the parking lot it's a nightmare!! The curbing is terrible especially when the store is busy. More cars/trucks drive over the curbing cause gravel to end up everywhere. You can't really exit on Foothills unless you make a right so getting out is as difficult as getting into it. Will I continue shopping here? While I recommend this location and fully support this new business my review is kinda limited and not what I hoped it would be. I fully expected to be writing a glowing report on the tamales I bought. My heart was over joyed when I dashed in simply to buy a bag of chips and discovered the cart of Fresh Hot and marvelously aromatic Tamales near the Check Out lanes. I decided to get Pork and was filling a styrofoam box as an employee approached to top off the tamales. She was friendly but did not speak English as she offered me steaming hot ones. I asked ..."are they Pork?" She smiled and shrugged.... I asked "Puerco?" She smiled nodding and helped place three into my heavy box. The other options were beef, which there were two trays full of those, and there had been only one tray of pork and at the far right there was a cheese and chili variety . I'm not sure if the Tamales or mixed up in the cart or if the employee didn't understand and gave me cheese and chili. But when I got home, I had both it wasn't a big deal. It was just not what I had expected. Because it's a self service station it's entirely possible that customers may have mixed up the different also. I'm striking it up to be a mystery. Unfortunately, it left a really bad taste in my mouth about this new business. I've eaten at the del Sol on fourth and 16th, but all I had was the lunch and I loved it. The big part of my complaint is the flavor of the pork tamales . Something smelled off to me. Part of it might be that I was expecting the port to be in a red sauce, but it was a green sauce and quite frankly it tasted as though someone had drained a bunch of liquid from a can of Ortega green chilies into the meat mixture.. It was unexpected a bit on the sour side. At first, I thought the meat was bad, and maybe it was maybe that was part of the problem. I'm not sure. Some of the tamales in my package were pork which tasted horrible and a few were cheese and peppers, which tasted good. and quite frankly I've never had a pork tamale that terrible before. I've had chicken tamales now and then which were made with green chili and love them. All I know is these tasted sour! i'm a native Arizona. And I've made pork tamales myself. So I'm not a newcomer and I'm not from a part of the country that doesn't have excellent tamales. Anyway, obviously for a variety of reasons I'm not going to give a great review based on my experience at the store and the product. read more

It's about time Frys in the Foothills got some competition. Honestly my husband and I came to Del Sol because, like every snowbird season, the parking lot at Frys was mayhem. We were exhausted (some people have jobs) and didn't feel like dealing the craziness that goes along with trying to get errands done in a timely manner amongst a bunch of retirees who have no lives nor anywhere to be. To avoid all that, we checked out Del Sol. WHAT A PLEASURE. Their meat department was very impressive and the produce looked fresh. Shelves were stocked. It is a Mexican specialty store but they have all of the basics. Some things are on the pricey side but their produce and meat were decently priced. Same for the hot bar. They also have a little candy section and a back wall with every spice immagineable. It's quiet, peaceful nicely spaced out, and just a pleasurable shopping experience. The staff is super friendly as well. My favorite thing- THEY HAVE COSTCO BATH TISSUE! And a little clothing section with items from Costco. This made me so happy because everyone knows Costco is so much better then Sam's club. It stinks that Yuma has the latter and has to suffer with Members Mark poor quality. Seeing a few Kirkland items in Del Sol made me so happy. My husband loves Mexican food and was happy to see they had a hot bar. I got a couple rolled tacos and they were good but what really stood out was their salsa verde. It was perfect. I wish I could buy it by the jar. My husband got a burrito and we were laughing when they were making it because they whipped out a tortilla that was the size of his torso. I think he got the carne asada, fully loaded with every topping imaginable and the spiciest salsa they had. The burrito was huge and honestly not a bad price, I think $10, and personally would have lasted me lunch and dinner. It was amazing, the meat was super flavorful and he surprisingly finished the entire thing in one sitting. The tortilla we laughed about ended up being on the best tortillas either of my ever had. Excited to go back and try some of the other items on their menu. Theres also a little area to sit down and eat. Overall, so happy with this place. I appreciate the fact that Frys is no longer the only grocery store in the foothills and I can have a shopping experience without all the stress and anxiety that comes along with the influx of snowbirds Yuma gets every year. read more

Solid the first couple of months after they opened. Now they have expired products all over their shelves. Going down hill fast

We we're looking forward to trying out the food services. We ordered Chile rellenos with beans and rice. They came with tortillas that were delicious. The rellenos were terrible, they were not cooked long enough, the skins were not taken off and the cheese was still in block pieces. Very disappointed. read more

Gave them a second chance after buying raw beef tamales a couple weeks ago. Bought 3 more today, even after squeezing them a little to make sure firm and cooked, nope all three raw in middle. That's it for me, no more precooked food for us. Store products more expensive than Wally World, guess we have to keep going there. People in Del Sol store have such a blah attitude, could care less if you are inconvenienced by taking there raw food back to them. Personally, I think store will fail, give it a year. read more

Love the convenience of having additional grocery shopping options in the neighborhood. The staff are very helpful and the store is super clean. IF you like Mexican cuisine definitely check out the food counter, if you don't you probably should dine elsewhere and not be negative. The corn and flour tortillas locally made are really good. Today we tried the tamales from the deli. My favorite tamale is a green chili and cheese, which I tried this morning. I have to say it was the WORST tamale I've ever had! The cheese looks like a honeycomb on the inside, even after I warmed it up at home! Taste is bad and if there is any green chili in there, it must be tiny pieces in the masa itself. Never again. read more
