I have enjoyed Del Taco since the late 1970's when they expanded to my home state of Texas and I was in high school. I have always found their locations clean and their crews friendly and efficient. My recent experiences with the Desert Hot Springs location ( where I call home since May 2023) has changed my opinion after 40 good years. On my first visit to dine inside in June 2023, I was appalled at how dirty the interior was. ( this location has since had a remodel, and I have not checked it out). On my second and last inside visit, I was at the counter waiting to order when another customer, an older female, barged in after me screaming that her debit card was not returned to her after using the drive thru. I understand her being upset, but all 5 of the crew stopped what they were doing and became focused on the irate woman. That does not mean they stopped and became involved in helping her, but stopped to listen to her rant. I was ignored and after 2 mins waiting, I walked out and over to Taco Bell. My experiences using the drive-thru is similar to other reviewers': order wrong, no receipt, excessive wait times after 10 PM. Given the consistently bad reviews of this location posted by my fellow reviewers, I am discouraged that DT's corporate office allows these conditions to exist at the Desert Hot Springs location. Especially given the capital expense paid out over the summer to bring the store into the 21st century. Fortunately the Cathedral City DT is not too far a drive, but Taco Bell is just up the street. read more

I just did the drive thru at this Del Taco. There was a giant billboard advertising "Taco Tuesday". 3 tacos for $1.79. When i got up to the window to pay the price the girl quoted me was much higher. I asked why and she said the billboard was the old price and prices have increased. i asked to speak to the manager. Her comment to me was "Yea we don't honor our advertised prices". It's a long overdue review. We had the most kindest & considerate associate at the window. I wish I would have taken her name she was very pretty dark skin & had the most friendliest customer service at 12am during the hurricane. Last month, their Quesadilla Stuffed Tacos caused food poisoning so intense, it almost killed me...but when I went in the following day to inform them of this, their manager, Ana, basically told me to go fornicate with myself. Even before that, at this specific location, they would get my order wrong, almost without fail, every single time I went in to order something. After a few weeks, I decided to give this location another chance last week; spoiler alert: they kept getting the orders wrong (but I mitigated this by walking in for each order, so I could catch their errors before driving home). Yesterday morning, they got the order right (for once), only to tell me that they don't offer a veteran discount (which is funny, considering I've been given that same military discount at every Del Taco I ever visited, including this location, which I've visited regularly, over the past year) anymore, so apparently this location is NOT veteran friendly, at all...and the manager on duty, Ana, was *incredibly* rude about it, on top of everything...needless to say, I will not be giving my business to Del Taco, going forward.
