The first time, I had to leave before they were finished and Justin took a picture to show me they had finished.

Unfortunately, the actual cleaning did not match the polished presentation. I hired this company for a deep clean, and the service did not match what was written in the contract. Several areas, like the laundry room, which were specifically included in the contract, were skipped entirely. When I asked them to come back to complete the work they had already been paid for, they told me it would be a "second phase" and would require additional payment. There was never an agreement about "phases", and it is not reasonable to charge extra for work that was already included in the original contract. They also skipped the copper sink completely. Their explanation was that there was a dish in the sink. We were home the entire time, and they could have simply asked us to move it. That alone demonstrates the level of effort and communication they were willing to put in. Cleaning products were used that were not appropriate for the materials in my home. Clorox wipes were used on surfaces that require specific cleaners, which explains why stains and buildup remained afterward. It felt rushed and not thoughtful. The team was friendly, but the quality of the work and the refusal to honor the original agreement were very disappointing. I paid for a deep clean, not a partial job with surprise "phases" added afterward. If you need a true deep clean or someone who understands how to care for different materials, this is not the company I would recommend. This experience taught me that a professional marketing appearance does not always equal professional results.

College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving - Wilmington

I recently bought a house and needed to have items that were in storage in Wilmington. NC moved to…read moreRolesville, NC. I contracted with College Hunks to do the move on June 25th. The day started out with a call from Jacob, the "Captain" of the crew, that the truck was fueled and they were on their way and would arrive in 30 min. True to his word they were right on time. The guys introduced themselves and got down to business. During the pack out they were extremely respectful, always calling me sir, even though I said they could call me by my first name. They took great care with my belongings and were done emptying a10' x 30' storage unit in 4 hours in brutal 90 degree heat. Abbott even swept out the unit for me, I thanked him and said he needn't have done that, he just said it was no problem and that it was part of their service. They left for Rolesville ahead of me. I caught up with them a while later and asked them if they wanted to stop for lunch, they said they were good. When they got to my new house they quickly unloaded the truck, always asking where I wanted items placed. They even took some extra items, besides a bed I'd arranged to have brought upstairs, that were too bulky for my wife and I to take upstairs, with out a problem. They were soon done and on their way home. All through the move Jacob, Abbott and Jack were courteous and respectful. They were a great team and worked well together. I was warned that College Hunks wouldn't do a good job by a company that wanted to charge me three times the amount that College Hunks quoted me. I went with College Hunks as they are a veteran owned business, I'm a retired Navy veteran, and I heartily recommend College Hunks and this crew to anyone.

I am beyond disappointed with this local branch of this company. On 5/11 my husband and I confirmed…read morea moving and junk haul appointment scheduled for 5/30. Our move-in date was 5/31, so we had already adjusted plans and paid extra to move everything a day earlier. The day before the move, College HUNKS confirmed the appointment with my husband and told us we would receive a call between 12-2 PM when they were 30 minutes out. At 1:40 PM the day of the move, I called to confirm and was reassured the appointment was still in the system and happening, and that the movers would be calling us shortly. At 2:15 PM, my husband received a call from the manager stating they were canceling due to weather and "closing up shop for the day." This was after we had already been waiting through the scheduled window, with no prior notice or attempt to communicate earlier, despite weather conditions being forecast in advance. When my husband explained we could not delay the move until Monday due to lease constraints, we were essentially told there was nothing they could do. At that point, we were left stranded on moving day, having already moved multiple carloads ourselves and with no ability to physically complete the rest of the move without professional help. There was no meaningful effort to problem-solve or provide alternatives that aligned with our situation. The situation escalated further when I attempted to speak with management directly. I called the main number, which went to voicemail, and then called from my husband's phone, which turned out to be the manager Devin's direct work phone. The call began unprofessionally, and while I initially apologized for reaching him directly, I explained the situation in detail. Although there was acknowledgment of weather-related issues, there was no real solution offered beyond "trying Monday," which was not feasible for us. During the conversation, when I was visibly upset due to the stress of being left without movers on a critical moving day, the interaction became increasingly tense. The call ended abruptly after I expressed frustration with the situation as a whole, and I attempted to clarify afterward via text that my frustration was with the circumstances--not a personal attack--but I received no response. To make matters worse, I have also been trying to obtain a refund of my $99 deposit. I was told twice that a refund request would be submitted on my behalf, only to later find out that it had not actually been processed either time. Since then, I have been met with silence, repeated delays, and what feels like avoidance of calls and follow-up communication altogether. There has been no resolution, no confirmation of refund status, and no accountability regarding why the request was never submitted as stated. Overall, this has been an extremely unprofessional and stressful experience during what was already a high-pressure moving situation. Being left without movers on moving day and then having to repeatedly chase a basic refund that was promised but never processed is unacceptable. I would not recommend this company based on our experience.
