Horrendous. Less than one star. Six plus weeks and counting--called because of a death and wanted…read moreto pay off card balance. Was immediately locked out of the account and told to submit death/probate papers (which I did). TD Bank reverted the autopay to an old account rather than taking funds from estate account. Folks at the "old" bank let me know that TD was trying to withdraw funds from a closed account. I called TD, gave them correct account info (AGAIN), they got their money and charged me a late fee. Called to remove late fee and arrange for a second/final card payment. TD staff couldn't talk to me because I wasn't authorized and they couldn't find death paperwork or probate papers which were mailed to them a month earlier. TD suggested I drive to a branch in a neighboring state and submit papers in person if I wanted to resolve the issue. I went. Branch said they couldn't access the info or fix the issue. Branch faxed the paperwork to their "credit" unit. A phone call confirmed receipt and I was told they would straighten everything out in 24-48 hours. Six days later, the credit unit says they don't have the paperwork and can't help. That the final card payment is now in collections and a second month's late fee is owed. Over the weekend, TD did send me an email--addressed to the decedent. The first sentence read "We're always looking for ways to better serve you." Really? Here are just a few suggestions: (1) don't lock out accounts until the paperwork arrives, (2) reduce caller hold times to 5 minutes or less, (3) don't tell me to call back when you can't resolve a problem--get the answer and you call me back, (4) put managers on the line when requested, (5) don't say you cannot provide a copy of a credit card statement (because you don't have the necessary paperwork....which was submitted twice) and then ask for the balance to be paid over the phone, (6) provide email addresses--I have no problem submitting requests in writing, (7) LISTEN to what a caller is saying, (8) stop passing calls off to others who cannot answer questions either, (9) get info, call customer back, even if it is just to say you are still working on it. I have accounts at a credit union and other banks and in 50 years have never experienced anything as screwed up as TD Bank.

You get a call bank and put back on hold and when you finally explain the problem you get told that you need to be transferred to Recovery Dept. After explaining again the person puts you on hold and then you get the recording again on entering checking or savings info, etc. She never came back. Personally I give it a "0". I am sending all this info to both the BBB and to the federal government who is waiting for my response. Thanks for nothing TD Bank, so glad I don't bank with you........you are useless

I chose travel as my cash back rewards category on my BOA credit card. Two years ago we took a 16…read moreday cruise. I set up my BOA card as the form of payment on the ship. Two days into the cruise I got paid so I transferred enough money to completely pay the $3000 card in full so we didn't have to worry about payment issues while on vacation. Next thing I know, I being told to talk to guest services on the ship because my payment can't be processed. The payment that I sent to BOA was withdrawn from my bank account but never posted to the BOA card until the day after we returned from the cruise, 15 days after I did the online payment! The BOA representative could not give me a valid reason why this happened but could only speculate on possible causes. Fast forward to now, My wife and I are leaving on another cruise in 2 weeks and for the last year my BOA credit card has been paid in full ($3000) and I have never had a late payment ever. I have just discovered that last week BOA has decided to reduce my credit line to $500! The ship will put a hold of $500 just to have it on file on the ship so I can't even use it. I have inquired as to why my credit line has been reduced even though I have good credit and have never been late on payments. Again the BOA operator could only speculate reasons why this might have happened and not give me an actual reason. She didn't seem to be too concerned and I felt like she was saying what ever it took to complete the phone call and be done with me. She advised me to go online and request a credit line increase which I did and BOA immediately declined it. I thought BOA was a good credit card to have but after this, I am going to cancel my card. It will put a small ding on my credit report but so will lowering my credit line by $2500! Never use them again!!!

Having visited this branch four times in the past four days I don't know what irritates me the most. The fact that the offices are always occupied by people with no customers but the teller line is full and they only have two tellers working it or the fact that their solution to this is to have the folks from the offices come to the teller line to ask what your business is. I hate that with a passion. Today I am in the long teller line for a specific reason. This man comes to me and asks if I need to make a withdrawal. Yes I do. He informs me that I can do that at the ATM. I said to him I know that and as you can see I walked right past it. WTF???? How was that helpful??? Why would I choose to stand here if I didn't think it necessary. I need to pay my rent, I don't use checks I pay in cash. I need large bills so it's easy to count and I need an envelope sir if you really must know.

It's unfortunate to see some bad reviews on here already (kind of sounds like a people problem, not…read morea bank problem and you're going to get that sometimes at any bank); but it's unfortunate nonetheless! Anyhow, I want to chime in as a happy customer. I've been a member since the early 2000's and my mom has been one since 1990. I jumped ship back in 02 or so after having an issue with Dexsta (I don't recall whose fault it was) and I ended up going with Commerce Bank at the time (RIP Commerce, you guys were awesome). When Commerce Bank got bought out by TD North, everything went to hell and there were new fees, hidden fees, crappy service, etc. I decided to close my accounts and go running back to Dexsta as I was lured by the low APR credit card and the free checking. I haven't regretted that choice since. The treat me like family when I call and the tellers are friendly. However, when I lived in DE, I only dealt with the Prices Corner branch---your results may vary at other locations. I know my mom deals with the Foulk Rd branch. My mom is a complainer and I've never heard about a serious incident with Dexsta, she has a house, car loan and CC with them. I've moved to the Dallas region earlier this year and was perturbed that I was going to have to open a new account at a local bank and possibly not be able to keep my Dexsta as my main bank. If you think CUs in Delaware are bad then Texas has even crappier ones to choose from! Some of them don't even have free checking and have fees! Dexsta just recently started doing mobile-remote deposits on their mobile app and that was pretty much what made me decide to stay. The All Point network they're on means no ATM fees in the whole country (and All Point ATMs are all over the place). They have the best loan rates and CC rates around. My only negative is that they're not on the shared branching network of CUs, so I can't deposit cash at a shared-branch CU if I wanted. So if you're looking for a shared-branching CU that also has great customer service and are professional, check out Louviers CU in Newark, DE. They're smaller but just as competitive. So now you know I wasn't paid to write this :P

I was a victim of…read moreidentity theft early 2026 when the thief accessed my 2 credit cards & spent many 1000's of $$ on them using my Amazon account & even mailing a few pkgs to me (probably to make me look complicit?) Amazon was zero help when I tried to find out how to handle it but did find a link that allowed me to return a large box to the designer for free via FEDEX. I closed my 2 credit cards even tho CapitalOne wrote to say thank you for the information & said they'd mail me a new card but I decided that the thief had 2 of my former card numbers so they could probably find the number of any new card from the same bank easily. My credit cards paid the $$ for items the identity thief stole after I sent details Amazon requested. DEXSTA Fed'l Credit Union on Foulk Rd issued a VISA Platinum card but after I purchased 3 movie tickets, the card stopped being accepted (was closed). A woman at the branch said it was because recurring contributions made to ActBlue (for Democrat candidates) were fraudulent. She's clearly p someone who's ignorant of what's going on in IS politics. I had no reason or even the skills to commit identity theft but currently my card is again closed (no explanation) with $700 cash of my $$ still posted on it (I transferred it to the card from one of my accounts). So basically they have stolen from me? They need to hire someone who is MUCH more knowledgeable about what's going on in the USA, including politics. My savings, money market, checking acct&savings bonds have A LOT more $ in them than what I've spent on credit cards. Will go in tomorrow & demand my $700 and ask how to go about removing all the $$ I have in DEXSTA Credit Union. I've never been treated that terribly at a bank. And I wasted a lot of time pausing a freeze @ Experian (I no longer had the password since the freeze dated back to Equifax's problems ages ago.Maybe I'll get a debit card but @ this point I'm fed up w/DEXSTA.
