My brother recently passed away and I had decided to have him cremated. I looked on line for a full service crematorium which was also a member of NACA and found the Delaware Valley Cremation Center. I called the Center and explained my situation. They said they would be out to pick up the body, place it in storage and someone would call me that afternoon to set up a meeting for the next day. The next afternoon I went to the Delaware Valley Cremation Center and was met by Jade McGee who would guide me through the rest of the process. First she told me that they would notify all the government offices that needed to be notified. I was shown brochures of the different services offered. The prices were clearly marked and there was no attempt to influence me to pick any higher priced items. I decided on the direct cremation which does not include a visitation or ceremony. Jade did arrange for me to see my brother one last time and I as very grateful for that. My brother was cremated and his remains along with all the necessary paperwork including the Death Certificates were returned to me the next week. Included with the paperwork was a personal note from Jade McGee which I very much appreciated. If I were in this same situation again I would not hesitate to once again call on the people at the Delaware Valley Cremation Center. read more

From picking my father up, to making arrangements, having a viewing and simply being so kind, reassuring and understanding during a most sorrowful time. Their warmth and compassion meant everything to all of us, my family cannot say enough positive words to even capture how very thankful we were to have them handle everything. My fathers funeral was beautiful and meaningful, we will never forget. Absolutely excellent professional experience. I chose Delaware Valley Cremation for my husband based on the wonderful references. Upon contacting them they were as empathetic and thoughtful as any owner of the best Funeral Director's I used when my parents died. My husband and I were able to explore the wide assortment of quality cremation remains containers. He selected his Urn. I called in advance as he was discharged to in-home hospice care prior to death. They arrived promptly to transport the body to their facility, conveniently located in NE Phila. The experience with everyone on their team was fabulous. These wonderful people handled both my parents who had died weeks apart. They were so respectful in the manner they picked them up and took them back to their facility. When we came to finalize the arrangements, they were compassionate and listened intently to make sure our needs were met. Their facility is so beautiful. It's been a few weeks since my dad's passing, and I remember his funeral as a day of celebrating his life. People still tell me how wonderful the place was. They had beautiful bistro tables all around with nice linens and tea candles, a piano player, open bar, flat screens all over showing the most joyful moments of our lives. I was very impressed with the services my family and brother (deceased) received via your cremation center. I was so totally touched and moved by the fact that your M.E. was not happy with the doctor's lack of signature of my brother's death with caused his body to lay for six days without being able to put him to rest. I was touched because it meant that much to you and your M.E. This was my first experience with cremation of a family member and you employees did it with the utmost respect. I am my mother's oldest son. Mom lived with me the last six years of her life. My mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer Dementia six years ago. As her primary care giver she was going to stay home with me and go from home to heaven. I thank GOD that is what happened. The facility is immaculate, beautifully decorated and very functional. My husband chose Delaware Valley Cremation Center before his passing. His mother and cousin where both taken care of by Delaware Valley and he was very pleased with the experience. They were extremely kind to me and my sons after my husband passed away. When my husband was placed in hospice I was able to preregister with Delaware Valley, which helped tremendously when he died. We spoke mostly on the phone with Delaware Valley and did not have a lot of physical contact due to the pandemic, but they really where amazing and helpful and walked us through everything. From the moment we walked in to the building we felt at ease and welcomed. This is a true gem in the heart of the city. Family came from all over and were greeted warmly by George and the wonderful staff. The State Room is a gorgeous room, tasteful and yet modern feeling. The food was excellent and abundant,and the chef was extremely gracious to allow us to bring in a few extra cookie trays,etc. Rarely have I ever been compelled to write a review after a memorial service. I can only give 5 stars so this is an update which equals 6 stars. After all the Church services were over and her urn was back home the Children started talking about jewelry. I called the Center and asked them if they could remove some of the ashes and put them into a small container for me. They were so kind they took me right in and handled it within 10 minutes. When I left the assistant told me if I had any left over after the jewelry making bring the urn back and we will put them back in. I was uncomfortable even thinking about opening it up and doing it. You understand. So it's a 6 star review. read more

I was able to do all the arrangements online which made things a lot easier. I did have the option for other services but we opted not to do them.
