Been here more times than I care to admit. They are always respectful towards the family and loved ones who are paying their last respects.

I have made funeral arrangements for a couple of relatives in my lifetime. Dougherty's was by far the best experience so far. My brother was a service man and he was given an amazing funeral. The level of professionalism and sympathy shown to the family and his widow were above anything expected. The room was large and the setup was perfect. Thank you for making this as easy as possible. I did not plan a funeral here. I attended a viewing. The space is large. Hence if you were expecting a crowd, it looks like it can accommodate you . Things seemed well organized and smooth. That's not always the case. They also have a pretty large parking lot. In this context those things matter! read more

Memorial service scheduled for 10AM. They waited until we arrived for private family time at 9:30 AM to tell us my all of my wife's remains did not fit in the urn and asked us what we wanted to do with the rest. Told the urn we ordered was too small. They offered no alternatives/suggestions. We proceeded with the service, as mourners had flown in from out of state, and unfortunately, we did internment. Next day asked why urn was too small. That's when they called urn company and found size was a misprint in catalog. Gave me approximately 30ci of remains to take with me. Later used a different funeral home, got proper sized urn, had cemetery niche opened, combined the remains, and re-interred urn. As bad as the incompetence was the indifferent attitude and the lack of empathy was shocking. read more

I cannot express how absolutely outstanding the staff of Dougherty funeral home was, as we laid our mother to rest. From the minute my mother was picked up and transported from her memory care facility, to the moment she was laid to rest in her final resting place, the staff was beyond superb! Dan was with me from moments after my mother's passing (by phone call) to the very, very end at the cemetery. Fortunately for my siblings and I, our other granted us one last gift in having all of her funeral arrangements made 13 years prior to her passing. As one would imagine, over 13 years since she made her arrangements, we needed to make some minor adjustments. Dan was very accommodating and and kind during the entire process. He shoots straight from the hip and I LOVE that!!! Completely honest and forthcoming with any and all information, while relaying it in a timely manner. The entire staff was wonderful and if I could I would have them as my own personal friends. They were professional and caring at the same time. I was not impressed with the service they provided at a funeral I attended. The funeral home was decent, but when we got to the cemetery, they invited people to throw flowers or dirt on the casket after it was lowered. First of all, I'm not a fan of lowering the casket while the family is there because it seems too tacky, but it was lowered. Instead of people taking small handfuls of dirt, someone in workers clothes wheeled over this old wheelbarrow with old shovels, and when people literally dumped shovelfuls of dirt on the casket, the metallic thumping noise was cringeworthy, and I felt bad for the wife and family having to hear that. I was sure that someone would have gotten clobbered by the shovels, but thankfully that did not happen. I've been to many funerals over the years, and this seemed like a second-class operation. I would not recommend them, and hope to never have to visit them again. read more

We decided to support a local business only to find out that they were the highest price for a simple cremation. After discovering the high price we asked them why and were told that their customer service was worth it. How much customer service does it take to hand over an urn? Only use them if you have a hefty savings account. read more

the funeral was nice (actually very sad but im rating the funeral home here) and the setting was nice. but the funeral director who spoke up to usher us out the door at the end actually said "sorry folks, if i could bring her back i would" in a very nonchalant way. not cool. read more

Provide outstanding compassionate and personalized service. Have attended funerals here many times over the years as both family and friends use and recommend and have never been disappointed. Cannot imagine why other reviews ranged from bad to mediocre. I have never heard anything but glowing reviews about the staff and services. read more
