I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Delford West Flowers. To be honest the situation with weddings is complicated, you have a vision of what you want, you talk about it, see a little bit of it when possible, but you won't really know what you're going to get 100% until the day of. By then it could be exactly everything you ever wanted or just all wrong, but it's too late. And then mix in COVID. I would like to report that everything was exactly how I wanted it and then some. We did our wedding at Casa Real and wanted to heavily bring the outdoors inside and Karl and his team did just that. Our wooden arch was the biggest centerpiece in the room and everyone was obsessed with it and all the centerpieces were a hot commodity with people trying to debate on who could take it home. I am so happy that we found Delford West Flowers for our wedding! Karl was so knowledgable and helpful through the whole wedding planning process. We had to postpone our wedding from July 2020 to June 2021 and Karl made the postponement process so easy for us. We went into our first meeting with him not really knowing what we wanted but he had such great advice and ideas. He had been to our venue before (Sunol's Casa Bella) so told us where he would recommend adding floral decor and even which linens looked best with our color scheme. Karl let us borrow his wooden flower boxes for our centerpieces at no extra charge. He did all the setup the day of and even worked with our other vendors to make sure everything was perfect. I really appreciated that he would suggest cost saving strategies as well. For example, he suggested repurposing the ceremony flowers to the reception hall and using the bridesmaids' bouquets as centerpieces for the head table. We had our wedding back in October 2021, but have been so busy that I haven't been able to give Karl a review until now! We met Karl back in 2019 before the pandemic hit for our original wedding date in 2020. We met him at his home studio in Livermore. I had already met a few florists by the time I met Karl, and upon meeting him I knew I wanted to book him. His prices are really reasonable and he is really thoughtful in how he curates all his floral pieces. Instead of pushing extra flowers (aka extra cost) on you, he instead will suggest ways in which you can reuse your flowers. For instance, our ceremony flowers were reused for reception backdrop. My experience with other florists was the opposite where they are pushy and tried to upsell me, so this was extremely refreshing to me and built a lot of trust. We discussed the general look I like (I really like fluffy looking flowers) and he also has all his vases on display for you to choose from. He offers ideas and has print out of looks as well that you can review with him. Karl was really understanding and flexible when we had to move our wedding day (we moved it to 2021 due to the pandemic) and we are really thrilled that we were still able to have him be our florist for our wedding! We met Karl again as our wedding day approached. We reviewed all the items we discussed in our first meeting just to make sure we still wanted everything we had previously discussed. It was at this meeting that I was really specific about wanting anemones with black centers in my bridal bouquet.. Just want to note these flowers are harder to source due to not really knowing if the center is yellow or black until the flowers opened (I did not want yellow). BOY!! did Karl deliver or what!! On our wedding day I was blown away with his floral work and was beyond happy that he was able to get my specific request for anemones with black centers into our bouquets! The flowers were BEAUTIFUL, and even all my guests commented how beautiful they are. I had someone comment "You really splurged on your flowers and went all out, you got all the really expensive flowers!!" which is a HUGE testament to Karl and his team since they worked within my budget.
