Then they can choose to order the dish lacking a key component or they can select something that can be prepared correctly. Sourdough with smoked salmon, tomatoes, cream cheese, red onion, and CAPERS is not the same dish without the salty briny capers. So, big fail. At almost $13 for a single slice of toast without the other items (and not enough smoked salmon to counteract the missing salty aspect) it's sad. On the upside, there were enough red onion chunks to have me breathing onions for several days. The specialty drink I ordered, which is a cold brew with an amaretto foam, was really good. It's a lot of ice and a medium sized drink, so you can gauge the value for the price. It wasn't cheap. I probably wouldn't do it again. But it did taste good. The environment is nice. Old train station, high ceilings, charming atmosphere. Old wood floors, old wood moldings, old ceiling. It does look like the windows have been replaced, but they kept the frames. The space has been upgraded while maintaining the charm. Kudos to the person who did it. Fun to see the trains speeding through the station. It's a great option for people waiting for trains or being picked up. One cold brew and one sourdough toast dish with a reasonable tip was over $21.

Well, it has been several years since I've taken what used to be the R5 into the city, and Wayne was usually one of the stops I departed from. However, the girls working were very sweet and helpful when I told them how long it's been, and they proceeded to let me know I could buy a ticket on the ride into town. Oh as for the actual cafe, they had a lot of good looking treats (especially a chocolate chip muffin) but I did hold back and went with a smaller hot cocoa with oat milk. This was less than $5 (still getting adjusted to reasonable prices outside of my current city), and it was very good! Seating was throughout the narrow space, from tables and chairs to an old-school station bench which I took advantage of while I savored my beverage. There was also a separate restroom for men and women. From the barren station it was, someone really took this space and gave it new life. I imagine it's packed during the early weekday commute, but when I visited, it was almost peaceful with just a handful of people. Looks as though they haven't been open for very long, so I wish them success and look forward to the next time I can come by again while in town (and waiting for what I still call the R5).

I ordered the Lafayette on a baguette and he ordered the Parisian. The sandwiches were massive and also came with salad, neither of us could finish. They were very very good. The bread was perfect. Service was slow but they were packed when we went. Everyone was very friendly. Would come again.

When we had walked in, we saw a sign on the door asking patrons to please make sure the door closes fully behind them. However, there was no sign on the other side for people leaving. After the door kept getting left open, letting cold air in, I finally went up to the register to speak with the young woman there. I told her that people keep leaving the door open as they are leaving and asked if she could please put a sign for people leaving the cafe, which might help. I also asked if she could please keep an eye on the door, and let her know I had already had to get up 3 times to shut the door. To her credit, she did ask if we wanted to move to a different table, but it seemed like a hassle at that point. She did say again that she would be sure to keep an eye on the door. Guess what? She did not keep an eye on the door as more people were leaving. My mother also tried to catch her as she was going by, and she didn't stop. She basically ignored us the rest of the time. The young man serving us was polite but just kind of smiled and said sorry with a passive attitude when my mother mentioned the issue as we were paying (we told him we didn't want the coffee drinks after all, we just wanted to pay and leave at that point). I would think business owners would instruct their employees to try to please their customers and make them feel welcome. In the case of an issue, I would expect the employee to want to make an effort to make things right. This was a disappointing experience and I wouldn't recommend the place for this reason.

The…read moreinterior of the restaurant is much larger than it looks from the outside--we were seated in a quiet area upstairs, which filled up as the evening progressed. Service was solid. We started with: - Pillow Bread (3 pieces of fried dough, pandan spread, sweet miso butter), which I thought was delicious with either spread or butter; - Crispy Duck (4 bao buns, cucumbers, tamarind hoisin), which had extra-crispy duck, though the tamarind addition to the hoisin slightly dampened the flavor profile; - BBQ Pork Buns (3 steamed pork buns, milk bread), which were great when you got bits of pork, but were generally light on filling. On the recommendation of a diner who had been before, I went with the Drunken Noodles (wide rice noodles, eggs, bell peppers, spicy thai chili basil) + Lump Crab, which was plentiful, but I think I'd have preferred a less overpowering, more traditional protein. I asked for it extra spicy, but it was only slightly spicy.

We were greeted with complimentary mimosas - yum!! The selection was a mix of asian dishes and some more traditional dishes like an omelet. The food was DELICIOUS!! I enjoyed the dumplings, the crude, the short rib, sesame chickens, potatoes, and omelette. We were there for Father's Day so unsure if they had a different menu than usual. The sesame cookie was also delicious. The price was super reasonable compared to brunch buffets I've been too!

stunning and uniquely decorated space, but extremely mediocre food…read more i took my parents out to the burbs for brunch, but this was the worse meal we had together during their 4-day trip to philly. i want to start off by saying that this greenhouse cafe is absolutely gorgeous, and the decor is one-of-a-kind. i also love shopping next door at terrain, the shop. everything is just so cute and aesthetically pleasing! however, the food here is simply not very good. no one in my family particularly liked their dish. my boyfriend and i shared the short rib & egg and the chicken pot pie. the short rib was dry and the potato hash was so flavorless. i took one bite and deferred it to my boyfriend. i suppose i could have finished it, but i really didn't want to. the chicken pot pie was also lackluster. i think it's impossible to mess up a chicken pot pie, but i think the one here is somehow worse than the one served to patients at my hospital. the chicken was somehow so dry despite the wet interior, and the puff pastry was impossible to break apart, not flaky at all. the lobster roll was so underfilled, and the lobster inside was like a sad shredded lobster salad. the truffle fries were also really disappointing, the cheese wasn't even melted over. the best part of the meal was the complementary brioche bread. the food here was more like two stars, and the additional star comes from the beautiful decor and the lovely waiters. in the future, i will most likely choose to dine elsewhere before/after shopping at terrain. you don't have to eat at the cafe to shop!
