Recently moved and this place is only a couple miles from us so decided to give it a shot. 1st of all they offer delivery, and here we sit 46 mins after ordering and food has not arrived. So they promise 30-45min delivery time which is untrue. If they simply are honest we can decide not to use that service. The site gives no options to track delivery, so literally we have no idea when it will arrive. This alone gets 2 stars and we anticipate the food will not be at the correct temp since they made it at about 30 mins ago; that doesn't even sound safe. They charge for the delivery, plus ask for a tip so we paid about 10 extra for this and are very unsatisfied. DO NOT order their delivery service. I could have walked and got the food faster.. Updating to 3 stars since the food arrived hot and tasted okay. But still took 1 hour to arrive. read more

My first time to any Asian / Chinese restaurant I usually have Kung Pao Chicken, which I ordered here, along with Spring Rolls. I was disappointed with both. The Kung Pao chicken was mediocre at best, lacking in both anything approaching authentic flavor, and missing adequate spice. The sauce also was too thin and lacking a bit in quantity. The Spring Rolls were filled with something mushy, and that was about it, although they did have a nice crispy exterior. Considering the portion size, and food quality, I felt it was overpriced. I added a star based on the service, as the two ladies on duty were very friendly, and they did check on me during the course of the meal. The interior of the restaurant was bland and unimpressive. I may give Delicious Garden another try, but I will order something different next time. read more

After reading a couple reviews, was hesitant about eating at Delicious Garden. So pleased we went anyway. Charmaine greeted us and was very friendly and helpful in assisting us in deciding what we wanted to order. Found out that there is new ownership, which may be why any concerns we had vanished - that, and the delicious food we were quickly served. I go here all the time I love love their garlic chicken its my favorite and the reason I keep coming back, however the lomein and soup and cream cheese Rangoon and egg roll all also really good. I was stopped by potential customers the last two times I've been and they ask is it good? I tell them I'm a returning customer I love it. I have not had a dish here where im like nope this is not good, everything here is good but some things much better than others, like garlic beef, egg rolls, dumplings and lomein. The rest of the food is good but those items are the winners hands down for me. The owner is very friendly and almost all of his workers are very friendly. I love this place and would recommend to anyone we even drive all the way from seguin to eat here. Try it you won't be disappointed. read more

We moved to New Braunfels about 6 months ago and we've slowly been trying the local restaurants. Today was Delicious Garden's turn and what a disappointment. We ordered through Favor for delivery. I got the chicken with garlic sauce and my husband got the hunan chicken and we got an order of spring rolls. The chicken with garlic sauce was HORRIBLE. It was overwhelmingly sweet and there was not even a hint of garlic flavor. I've had chicken with garlic sauce from at least a dozen places and it's never been sweet. There were 3 thin strips of chicken that were so stringy I couldn't even chew them. The rest was this sickening sweet sauce, a bunch of tough strips of carrots and cabbage and 3 slices of water chestnuts. It was inedible. I opted for the lo mein as a side and it was cold. My husbands hunan chicken was the same. Tough, stringy chicken and very few vegetables and it was cold. The only thing we enjoyed from this meal were the spring rolls but they definetly weren't good enough to make a difference. Super small portions of cold and inedible food. I don't mind smaller lunch portions but for what we paid for this mess, I feel robbed because 90% of our $55 lunch went in the trash. We will not be eating here again. read more

My hot and sour soup and crab wonton were absolutely delicious and fresh tasting. My General Tso's not so much. Flavor was right, but the fried pieces had been sitting in the sauce too long. If it had been fresh too, I would be all in with 5 stars.... The gooey entree not so good. read more

I absolutely love this place. I've eaten here several times. Well I've ordered and taken it home. The food is delicious especially the shrimp toast. The shrimp fried rice is also delicious and a large portion. I'm super happy with this restaurant. I was so hungry one night I accidentally called the new Braunfels store they understood and reordered for me also canceled at the other store. Very helpful. Decided to stop in and give this restaurant a try after noticing it the night before. Big place only a few people in there when I first walked in. Immediately went to the counter to place a Togo and was greeted by a very nice gentleman. I'm always in search of a really really good Chinese food (not Panda Express). I ordered the wonton soup and shrimp in lobster sauce. I was very pleased with the wonton soup. Flavorful but not too salty. Yes, I'm one of those who likes to add a little soy sauce but didn't have too this time. I was also impressed with the wontons. They were delicate not chewy, overstuffed or made with a thick wonton wrapper. The shrimp in lobster sauce was good too. Generous sized shrimp not the tiny ones that fit into a peanut butter spoon. Again flavorful but not too salty. I only added some spice to it. The entree came with your choice of egg roll or spring roll. I liked having the option as I always prefer a spring roll because I love the crunch you get with the smaller roll. I choose the fried rice instead of the plain and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I loved it. It was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Most times when you order fried rice it's brown in color because it's loaded with soy sauce. Give it a try and maybe I'll see you in there! Over all it's pretty good. It will never be as good as the original King's Wok that was at this location In 2011. They don't seem to thicken their sauces enough or very well. The leftovers from the refrigerator are completely watery! The vegetables are not cut up small enough. Hot & Sour Soup is excellent! Their Singapore Mei Fun (may not be on Menu), but is quite good. Quick takeout tonight at Delicious Garden. Ordered Chicken Lo Mein online and the order was ready in 15 minutes as stated during checkout. The Lo Mein was hot, nicely packaged for take out, and the serving size was just right. The Chicken Lo Mein tasted great, but had to much sauce for a noodle dish. The restaurant is conveniently located on hwy 46 and Oak Run Street. The restaurant has a nice seating area if you choose to dine inside. read more

Food was just ok, but for order at counter and no service once food is placed on table it is too expensive. Ordered spicy and it was far from spicy, cashier had no clue what he was doing. Placed an order for pickup and after giving my name twice, still received the wrong order. I was the only person in the restaurant. Called the restaurant (that has delivery service) and they asked me to please come back to exchange orders. I feel they should have sent their delivery driver for the exchange. It's over ten miles each way but I didn't want the wrong food. Once I returned the food I asked for some type of credit but was told since there's no manager on duty all I could get were some free egg rolls. They also asked if I'd opened up any of the order that I originally picked up 35 minutes prior. They were actually going to give someone food I took all the way home and opened up. Our dining experience was less than excellent the last time we were here. Still excellent food, this time it was obvious more personnel had been hired and the service was much better. All tables were bussed and sparkling. Wait staff was friendly and prompt, bringing our dishes out quickly and checking back with us to make sure we were happy. We love the variety of dishes they offer and order several to taste and take home after our dine in experience. Our favorites are chicken wings, cashew shrimp, all of their soups and happy family. We are still eating our way through their menu and everything we have tried is delish! read more

This place is really good. Tried it four times and got something different every time. Orange beef and crispy beef are our favorites. The only thing we wouldn't get was the teriyaki beef appetizer, didn't taste like much and was dry. Everything else has been awesome and the delivery guys is really nice. read more

i spent 50$ on take out the spring rolls were tiny the entrees were supposed to to have vegetables mixed in with meat there was one carrot . the large won ton soup had 3 tiny wontons and the rest broth no vegetables again. the chicken lomein was very greasy . my sesame shrimp the shrimp were the size of a dime . we love chinese food and eat it often at different restaurants but this place i'll never eat here again . they have a sign on front door that says prices have gone up due to the rise in egg prices ! are you kidding me ! so because of this you skimp on flavor , and presentation of everything else . close these doors , regroup hire new cooks and management . it's the only way . just saying . read more

This, by far, was the most disgusting Chinese restaurant I have been to in 50 years. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. Apparently their idea of sweet and sour chicken comes with carrots, pineapple and onions...never has that happened to me! The chicken was so hard, it was obviously at least a day old, probably older, and just thrown in the pan to semi heat it. Their idea of fried rice which came with it was horrible. The hubs was out of town and I didn't want a bologna sammich or leftovers so I ordered some stuff on Delicious Garden's website and someone from the restaurant delivered my lunch. He was a very nice man. The lunch I ordered was okay. The hot and sour soup lacked taste. While the shrimp toast tasted pretty good, when I bit it, oil came oozing out. With what I wrote up above, you're probably saying to yourself why did she give this place so many stars? I gave this restaurant three stars (and not fewer) because Delicious Garden has pretty good food, the meals are fairly inexpensive and the people who work there are nice. I could have given this restaurant fewer stars but I don't think it's necessary to be vicious because why, my soup was lacking spice? Okay I've said enough. read more

This is a wonderful place. Ben their twice once with just 2 persons and again with 9 in the party. Both times we received wonderful service, outstanding food and a super clean dining room. The prices are very reasonable and both lunch and dinner experiences were 5 star for sure. Sadly the dining room both times had plenty of available seats and I hope they remain open. I really wanted to like this restaurant. Things started well, as the very friendly owner greeted me when I came in to place a to-go order (first visit since the change in ownership from China King). He spent time explaining several different dishes to me and was very helpful. I placed orders for the dinner specials of Chicken Vegetable and Sesame Chicken, both with fried rice, egg roll and hot & sour soup. After paying, I sat down to wait...didn't have to wait long; less than 8 minutes. Everything was very well packaged so no spills on the way home. See photos. Unfortunately, even though the food was nice and hot, the flavor profiles were not very good. The H&S soup was bland and had a weird flavor. The rice and entrees were also bland...just not good. The sides of ribs (large and tender) were unbearably sweet. Bottom line...we did not eat very much and threw it all away. Live and learn. A shame as I wanted it to work...it is on my way home from work and would be very convenient on those "too tired to cook" days. I hope they can correct the food. Hate to see them fail. read more

The food was excellent, from the soup to the rainbow chicken. We had egg foo young, lemon chicken, rainbow chicken, and combo lo main. It was all very tasty, and certainly plenty. Come ready to take home the rest. The staff was very friendly and speedy. The ambiance is open and clean. Not you typical Chinese restaurant, but enjoyable.
