Really great staff! Our waitress was so kind and friendly. The food was alright. Escargot were good; the calamari was just below average. it was super oily, and not seasoned. The garlic bread was fantastic. For entrees, we got the fruits de mer fettuccine and the steak frites. The steak frites was fine, but we really disliked the pasta. The parmesan sauce was too cream heavy, so it tasted like just that... hot cream on pasta. And maybe some people enjoy that, but it was not for us. I'm not sure if we would return here, which is such a shame since the staff were amazing! And the building is quite nice. They were so kind and accommodating, there are no bookings, but they let us come in for our daughter's seventh birthday. They served us three courses, and we were very efficient in their treatment of us, the food was amazing, the price more than fair. I haven been trying to call this restaurant to setup a reservation for 8 over the last two weeks without anyone answering the phone. Is this business even open?? There's no option to leave a voicemail, and their reservation states anything over 6 requires a phone call. I contacted google to let them know this number is incorrect. I'm surprised this place doesn't have many good ratings. I came here with a large group under reservation on Friday night. Service was really good! The place seemed pretty busy too. Actually, I was very interested in trying it because the parking lot is always full of cars in the evenings and weekends. We had some appetizers to share, including the escargot, bruschetta, shrimp, calamari. Each of these tasted pretty good. I would just say though, it wasn't really traditional escargot or bruschetta. It wasn't bad, just not what you would get if you were at a French or Italian restaurant. I really loved how they had so many combinations for the sides for their steak. I got the filet mignon with a side of vegetables and roasted potatoes, and crab cakes. The crab cake was delicious! The steak was perfectly done to my liking. This is hands down the best steakhouse in Ottawa that we've tried. They recently redecorated and made the place look more modern. Also, the service is consistently great from our experience. Complimentary garlic bread is given with dinner, which is a nice touch. Their steaks are cooked and seasoned to perfection - any carnivore's dream. All steak entrées come with roasted seasonal veggies and a choice of starch. We usually go for the Loaded Potato (extra $5 but very worth it) or the Garlic Whipped Potato. We did not like this place. Absolutely the worst food I've ever had at a "steak house". Cocktails were terrible, tasted like pre-mix and way too sweet. - "Escargot" was literally 80 percent mushrooms. Like why are there mushrooms in my escargot and why are they the main feature? I spend most of the time digging around the dish trying to find the escargot but kept coming up mushrooms. And the snails tasted like mushrooms. I could barely tell the difference. The service was very odd. He kept coming over about every five minutes to check on us. May have well joined us on our date and sat at the table with us. This isn't good service, this is pure annoyance. Here's the worst part: My husband and I love to get a little of everything and share every meal or plate. We always buy cocktails or wine, and our date night bills are always high, so we aren't looking to cheap out, we just like to explore as much of the menu as possible. At this steak house, we ordered appetizers & cocktails and then told the server we were planning on sharing the 65 dollar Surf & Turf, the most expensive meal on the menu. He said we would be charged 5 dollars to share. We had no problem with that, as we have experienced it before at other restaurants, as we like sharing and would rather have a little of everything than two huge meals. What I did have a problem with is that when our 6oz filet mignon arrived, they had split it onto two plates, and on top of that they actually cut the 6oz filet mignon in half horizontal and then cooked it. So, it was now about 1cm thick and no longer an 6oz filet, but two disgustingly thin 3oz filets. How could you cut my filet in half like this? I was in shock completely that we were not told ahead of time that this is what would happen. I would have refused. I want to enjoy my 65 dollar plate not have everything pre-cut up for me. The lobster was also so rubbery, we had to send it back, and they also cut that in half as you can see in my photo. By the time the lobster came back the meal was basically finished, I mean it was only 3oz of steak. The steak was poorly seasoned, and over cooked, probably because they cut it in half and it's hard not to overcook a 3oz mini steak. I couldn't leave fast enough. I had read so many reviews raving about this place, and I was highly disappointed in every part of my experience and the food. I am saying this is not only the worst steak I've ever had but also the worst steak house I've ever been to. This place is far from Delicious and I would highly recommend going anywhere else for a steak. Chain restaurants can cook a better steak at half the price than this place. Clearly this place caters only to a older crowd. Plus, it closes at like 9pm, so not really for a later dinner or date crowd. Please do yourself a favour, leave Orleans and experience another steak house in the city. Do not take anyone on a date here unless you want to have a server chaperone you. read more

my husband and I went for Valentine's Day. I absolutely love the ambiance and the food is delicious like the name says.

I went to this restaurant a few days ago with a group of friends. Everyone loved their meal. I had a pasta dish with a cream sauce and tons of mushrooms. It was delicious. And our waitress was friendly but not pushy and we stayed for hours chatting and catching up. I would definitely return to this restaurant. I'm not a huge steak fan, but there were lots of other choices on the menu. read more

When here, recently, to celebrate an event with some friends, and I was honestly disappointed, when arriving, we were told we wouldn't be able to be seated and that they were full looking around. There's absolutely no one there but we understand sometimes you can have a big rush coming in. They told us that the best they could do is half an hour...... that's more than enough time to eat and order dessert and a even a few drinks when it came to time to order I requested for an extra lobster tail only to be told "you should see how expensive that is we charge extra" since we walked in. I felt like we were getting looks by because we were younger group of men, (they probably thought we wouldn't tip good) after requesting my fourth drink when we're partly through the meal I was told that there's a new program in Ontario and we're only allowed to give someone three drinks within an hour. I kinda laugh and said that's fine but thought to myself I've been in places and they've already given me three drinks plus and I was drinking my fourth seemed like they just wanted us gone the whole time the bartender was giving us dirty looks as well not sure what his problem is but they also had four people at the door when we were ready to pay almost made us feel like they thought we were gonna run away. If you don't want to get profiled for being young, I suggest you don't come here ironically, I still tipped her 50 bucks. We had been several times for brunch but what a pleasant surprise to fond the best steaks in town! Husband had Oscar steak I had the Forestière steak = delicious!!! A steakhouse for breakfast?! Gotta be good right?! They must know how to do home fries and eggs! Afraid not. Early Saturday morning walked into this place , seemed to have a true steakhouse look, so expected a lot. On being seated in a nice big circular booth, noticed crumbs all over seats, and floor needed a good vacuum. Ordered a basic breakfast for 5.99$ sounds fabulous. Partner got a TeX Mex poutine like item. Food arrived twenty minutes after ordering, despite being only patrons. The basic came on hot plate, good! Food great temperature. The TeX Mex came in a stainless dish hot as well. The sausages have the weirdest taste I have ever come across... Like plastic??? Not a great aftertaste at all. I was afraid to eat them. The homefries looked great: wedges, with a thin herbed batter. Cooked evenly...... However, they were pretty bland. Very bland. The rye toast was okay, not homemade. The table has a jam rack with six choices, that was nice. Coffee was nothing special. The TeX Mex was same home fries, covered with mushy onion and red sauce mix, then a layer of processed looking chicken sort of hard to imagine real breasts cut up...then, to the dismay of my partner, a " big crown of solid massive rubbery cheese" baked onto top. He is still complaining two hours later. AND for the first time ever, both of us did not clean our plates. The service was friendly enough. Dashed expectations lead to deeper despair!!! Myself and my family frequent Delicious Steakhouse for breakfast and have never ordered something we didn't like. Portion sizes are great and we always have friendly conversations with our waitresses. They've recently had renovations and the curb appeal now matches the interior. Very nice! I would give this restaurant 5 stars if it wasn't for the reservation issue. The food is always delicious, always hot, and the service friendly and attentive. No problem there. The problem is that they don't care about accommodating you with your seating preference. We made a reservation four days ahead of time, asking for a booth on the upper level. We were directed to the least desirable table in the house, by the window when you walk in. We mentioned our request but were told they did not have an upper booth available. We nevertheless asked for another table as it was quite cold by that window. We were given a booth on the lower level. People came in after us and were also being led to a table on the lower level. One man said " no no, up there " and they just walked up there and sat down, with waitress in tow. Had they asked for the upper level and were not getting it? I don't know, but there was obviously a table available as no one else came in claiming they had reserved that table. Now, if I had been the person seating patrons and honestly could not accommodate their wish of an upper booth (which I really doubt as we had probably reserved enough far ahead) I would have offered that upper table which was obviously available, or in the least the lower booth we ended up in and which was also available. This has turned us off as, if we would like a certain table for a special occasion, they can't be trusted. read more

The curb appeal of this place is sketchy at best. When you walk in it's a pleasant surprise though, it looks like a mid end steakhouse. I went with a group of six. Out of the four steaks that we're ordered, two were cooked as requested, two were WAY over cooked. They took them back and cooked new ones. Also, someone in our party has Celiac's (actually can't eat gluten not just a dietary choice) She was assured that her dish was gluten free, yet the next day she felt as though she had definitely eaten gluten. This is not the first time I've heard of a celiac person come back from this steakhouse with a bad experience of "gluten free dining". Conclusions: IF YOU'RE GLUTEN FREE DO NOT COME HERE. Me and my man started going there recently because the food is indeed delicious, in an old fashioned way, just like the way the restaurant looks. Vintage with a retro feel, if that makes any sense. We usually go for breakfast or for club sandwiches."Mme Louise" is usually the one that serves us. She is sweet as pie, courteous and efficient. Unfortunately, we went there at around 3 yesterday, and were served by this old sour face looking woman, who basically made us feel like we were bothering her, and also made us feel like she had been doing this job for way too long and hated every minute of it. Where was Mme Louise? This server is lucky my boyfriend left the bill on the table because I would recommend to NOT be served by her if you go there, and mention her name. She would have gotten a much, much bigger tip, If she had been nicer. You have to be careful how to serve people nowadays. Its too easy to come online and complain or vent. I ordered a glass of Rose wine, a bruschetta appetizer and two club sandwiches. Everything was good except for the service. I would give this place five stars if Mme Louise would have served us. Don't make a reservation. ....I did. Twice in person! Once on Monday June 4th and then again the next day on Tuesday June 5th to double check because this reservation was an important date for my wife. They promised me, and then assured me the next day when I went to double-check, that I would get table 12 in the corner. I arrived Friday at 5:30 to an empty restaurant except 3 people at table 12 just starting their meals! And they were a "walk-in"!! The waitress who took my reservation simply said "I made a mistake". We had to stay and eat there anyway to make it to a movie in good time. Then I ordered a steak "Chicago rare" but it came "medium well". $150 could have easily brought us a much better experience at lots of other options close by; within blocks even. my friends and I go all the time to this restaurant for breakfast. The food is good and the price is right. The only thing is the service is never friendly. We have gone there enough times and still we never get good service. Today was the last straw. I ordered breakfast and when I was half through my breakfast I found a long black hair on my plate..where my egg was. I told the waitress I would not pay for my breakfast and she said..."well you ate all the eggs". She grabbed the bill, scrunched it up and threw it on the floor. Not the reaction I expected. We've been going to Delicious for steak dinners for the past 10 years now. Used to be a great place. We were never disappointed. However, we went for our usual on New Year's and I was greatly disappointed with my meal. I had the filet mignon and it was overcooked (asked for medium) and not tender at all like a filet mignon should be. I let it pass. We just went again for Easter and I was hesitant to ask for the filet mignon again due to my last experience. I should have listened to myself. My husband had the New Yorker which was perfectly cooked and a lot more tender than my filet mignon. Again I asked for medium and this time I got a rare steak. On top of being rare, it was like rubber. I could not chew through it. My husband ended up giving me a piece of his steak. I advised the waiter that my filet migon was under cooked and tough - not even edible this time. He went to the kitchen and came back wanting to recook my steak - recooking a steak after it has cooled is not a good idea so I told him not to bother. He then came back offering a free dessert to compensate for my $30 piece of meat. Again, I told him no since I do not eat dessert. We then proceeded in paying our full bill which was handed to us and left. We will not be returning. We do not mind paying a high cost for a proper meal but this was totally overpriced for what we received. No longer recommended for steak. Never tried it for breakfast or lunch and never will. read more
