They Also have a great selection of doc martens... yes I love shoes! They do offer a lot more than shoes. They have everything from swimwear to professional business wear. I don't even know if professional business where is actually a thing but you know clothing for a businessman and businesswoman. They carry their own brand that is name Twik, I really like it. They carry clothing for almost every style. I consider myself to be either very bohemian or very sporty. Two very different style but the offer both of those. Clothing can be pricey but they always have a discount rack in every section.

I'm glad Ottawa has some clothing stores with styles outside the GAP, AE, Old Navy, etc. Not that there's anything wrong with those stores but they're pretty boring. Schad carries a nice balance of North American and European brands. The unfortunate thing about some of the North American brands is that they've been run into the ground since the Jersey Shore phenomenon! Brands like Ed Hardy and Affliction are carried here and unfortunately Dom Rebel (based out of Montreal) has been styling a lot of shirts like them recently. Some of the other brands that I'm glad they have include Diesel, Energie, Sand and J Lindeberg. It's not for everyone but I do get complimented regularly. I believe there is a slight mark up on these brands compared to some of the other stores I've been in that carry these lines in Toronto and Montreal but it's not that much and the store owner and the staff are super friendly and super helpful. To get an idea, Chantel (the store owner) once tried on a dress for me that I was purchasing for a friend to give me an idea of what it would look like while being worn! That's pretty damn awesome!

Many styles are so unique that you won't find anywhere else in Ottawa. Because of their own design (not through whole sale in the supply chain), the price is so sound as well. I, as a man, was warmly welcomed into the store when I was looking for gifts for my wife. Bought quite a few including dresses and accessories, my wife loved them. However, I'm not as stoked about it because most merchandise at Saks OFF 5TH are specifically for Saks OFF 5TH and were never in Saks Fifth Avenue (like how the stuff at the Banana Republic Factory Store was never actually in the Banana Republic retail store). That being said, Saks OFF 5TH does occasionally have some pieces that were in Saks Fifth Avenue for a fraction of the price. However, at the end of the day, 70% off a $2000 dress is still $600, which is still too rich for my blood, lol (this is a real example, although from the Kanata Saks OFF 5TH - it was a beautiful Roland Mouret dress that I still dream about. Luckily it was 4 sizes too big for me, so I didn't have to do any soul searching, haha). Ok, let's talk about this specific location downtown. It's brand spanking new and they are still not completely finished renovating at the time of the writing of this review. Everything is really neatly organized. I was there a little bit before lunch time on a weekday and staff outnumbered customers. Maybe people just don't know about it yet. The change rooms are big and clean. They don't have doors but curtains. However, the curtains have little metal hooks on them and there are little metal rings on the wall, so you can "lock" your curtain. I thought that that was kind of cool. There is a large women's clothes section, a smaller men's clothes section and a smaller still children's clothes section. The women's shoe section is large, and the handbags section is decent. I think there's a men's shoe section as well, but I'm not entirely sure, as I did not check it out. It's a fun place to poke around. I'm glad that Ottawa is getting some new stores.

Frou Frou used to be on William St., but it is now on York St. It's now in a converted row home…read more They carry some cool and unusual items, like scarves that look like flower garlands (fair trade from Nepal) and funky jewelry from local artisans. Their clothes are hit or miss. In my opinion some pieces are really neat but some pieces are tacky or matronly. They have a clearance section upstairs which is a little messy but you can find some good deals. They had shoes made in Spain, Italy and Brazil (i.e. good quality leather) for like 70% off. The owner is super nice and she may sell you stuff for lower than the tagged price. Frou Frou is a cute little shop. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.
