Pretty much unobjectionable if you're willing to pay the high prices for the quality. (They aren't marked up, the store just doesn't seem to sell shoes below ~$100 unless you're looking at the sales rack). It's a small selection to go with the small store, but they carry a variety of shoes and have a lot of nice brands, including some Canadian-made, ethically manufactured, and/or eco-friendly ones if you tell them that's what you're looking for. This is my favorite shoe store in Ottawa. They have a pretty quick turn on product, so if I find something I like, I don't do my usual think-about-it cooling off period, I just get it. First off, I love their name. They are in The Glebe, so I love the play on words, lol. So Glebe Trotters is a shoe store that sells higher end shoes. All their shoes are casual, so no stilettos here, haha. They sell some easy to find brands like Clarks, Blundstone, and ECCO, but they also carry some harder to find brands (by that I mean in brick and mortar stores, as online you can essentially find anything easily these days, but I am old school and I like to touch and feel and try on my shoes) like El Naturalista, Naot and Taos. Prices are high, consistent with the retail price of these brands. You won't get deals like at Winners or Marshalls, where I once scored a pair of Naot sandals for $15. Naots at Glebe Trotters are at least 10 times that price. However, they carry all sizes and many styles and are not just one-offs like they are at the aforementioned stores. Glebe Trotters is a great place to find casual comfortable shoes if you don't mind paying higher prices. read more

The service here is absolutely stellar! We have been here, maybe about a dozen times, but each time we visit, the staff are helpful, engaging and very intuitive! They only carry better quality brands such as Red Wing, Clarks, Ecco, Blundstone and many more. Also noteworthy is a handsome and bulletproof line of handbags from an artisan in Chelsea, QC. Glebe Trotters is awesome. The service here is totally A++, the staff is friendly and helpful, doesn't pressure you, lets you browse. The store is small yet there is always someone to help you even when the store gets busy. They stock a good selection of quality brands. And while some small businesses with amazing service don't have such amazing prices, Glebe Trotters is competitive with big stores and has a great sales section too. Glebe Trotters is nice little store with a lot of selection. Today was the first time I stepped foot in this store - I was searching for a particular brand - El Naturalista. I was pleasantly surprised to see a good selection these shoes. There was also a sale on these shoes! Yay me! Of course, they did have my size and preferred color, too. Then I noticed there were lots of other good brands like Naot and Keen. The prices in this store are just fine for the quality of the shoes. I'd say they are the manufacturer's suggested retail price, but I do see good mark downs, too. I'm going to be a repeat customer, I'm sure. The customer service was excellent. read more
