Our lab used to love Delta Dog Camp, where they actually let the well behaved dogs play and socialize together and there is a kiddy pool to cool off in. He would come home exhausted. However, note that they have several hours mid-day where they are not open. We arrived at 10:55 to drop off our dog on the way to the airport for a week long vacation. The two staff were already scurrying out the front doors as we arrived and refused to take our dog. They said they had already locked up the back and if we tried to leave him there they would call the police for animal abandonment! I have never been more stressed out in my life as we frantically tried to find a place to take our dog with no notice and rushed to the airport. It ruined our vacation. We have never been back since. They are rude and do not even keep the hours they post let alone go the extra mile. Be very careful about the time if you choose to risk it here. read more

By far the best boarding facility in the east bay!! They not only take amazing care of your animals they are fairly priced and don't screw you in the price like the boarding facility in Brentwood. These are very trustworthy staff that are taking good care of your animals and I appreciate them so much! Our dog had to stay here for almost a month bc our home was being worked on and I appreciated them so much for taking such good care of our dog. God bless you guys!! I've taken my goldens here before with no problem. Left them for three days and they came back sick. Double ear and eye infections with green pus in the eye. The next day after a $700 vet visit, the other dog got the same infection. Just total denial from them that they were sick, they didn't seem to be to concerned and got defensive. I'm heartbroken about this. My dogs have never been sick. They said it must have come from "my yard". Nope. They were perfectly healthy prior to boarding. Now they are barely moving around and I have to sedate one every day twice a day, just to get the eye drops in. He's in so much pain he won't let us get close to him. I hate leaving negative reviews because I know it affects business, but they need to be a little more compassionate and a lot less defensive. I hope they have checked all the dogs in their care for this infection. I understand that dogs sometimes get sick at kennels... the careless response I got from them was the kicker. Try some compassion. Our pets are family members around here. UPDATE: the other dog is now sick with the same symptoms. Took him to the vet and he also had ear and eye infections. Vet said it is not contagious, but something they got their faces into while boarding. I'm confused and at a loss. Like I said, they were healthy when dropped off. I was really worried about putting my pitbull in boarding, but after calling, the owner really calmed my nerves. My pup did so well at his elevation and just as well while he was there for the week. We could call anytime we wanted to check in, but I was confident he was in good hands. We kept referring to his stay as "He was away at camp" because it really was like a summer camp for him. Took our dogs here to board them for a couple of weeks and since we'd heard so much about them we went away filled with confidence. When we returned they said our little dog ( not the big one who's only a puppy and can accidentally hurt you just because he is so full of energy and doesn't know his own strength but the little one (weighing all of 15 lbs and has never growled at anyone ever) had not one of the people close to the eye. As upsetting as that was we watched her and over the 2 years hasn't threatened let alone bit anyone. I don't doubt she could attack but what provoked her to that extreme? Ramsey LOVES his daycare and boarding. We have never had any issues with any of the staff there. They are all so sweet when I call and in person. My family and I have been boarding our four dogs at Delta Dog Camp for years. When we travel for work or go on vacation, we know that our puppies will be well cared for by Shelby and team, and that we can sleep soundly at night knowing they will be safe. One of our dogs is on arthritis meds. Delta Dog Camp had been great about making sure she adheres to her medical regimen while at the camp. We have one other dog who has a lot of anxiety around dogs she doesn't know. The camp has been great for her because they have been accommodating of her while gently introducing her to public spaces. My recent post was removed stating it was not within first hand customer content I assure you that I was a former customer bringing two Shepard there. The owners instructed their employees to lockup our dogs whenever we showed up and not allowed to socialize with other dogs. Well some employees allowed it and found no problems and enjoyed our dogs. When the owners found out the employees were split up so they would not work together. We were told that certain employees threw tennis balls at dogs if they didn't listen. The owners of Delta Dog Camp are in the business for the RIGHT reason, for the animals, not to take your money! I went to go check out their facility and LOVEEEEED it. CLEAN, HUGE, and most importantly ORGANIZED! I could write forever about my personal experience but rather tell you that my dog loved it. He normally goes to day care and when I call to check on him they will say, "oh he's just hanging out w/ the person outside..blah blah blah"..nope not at Delta..I called and they told me "he's playing", "he's doing this..doing that"..I was sooo happy! It put my mind at ease! My sister picked him up both days that he went to daycare and sent me pictures of him passed out in the car...so I know he had a good time. Almost as good as going to the beach! (FYI they do have a pool for your dogs on those hot days). I LOVE DELTA DOG CAMP and THEIR OWNERS!!!! Very disappointed in this place. When I initially called to get some information, the girl I talked to was not helpful at all and had to continuously put me on hold in order to get the info I was requesting. No big deal, I just figured she was new or being trained. She did mention that they would not let me tour the facility, but that I could look at the footage from the cameras that they have set up around the facility. This seemed suspicious to me, but we went ahead and took our dog in for the initial assessment. He passed, so we scheduled him to come for daycare the next day. The girl we scheduled with told us that our dog would get to play in playgroup with the other dogs, especially since he had passed the assessment. We took our dog in the next day and again were told that he would be able to play all day with the other dogs. We left him there for most of the day, thinking that he was having a great time playing--more fun than he would be having at home with us. When we went to pick up our dog that afternoon, they informed my husband that our dog had sat in a crate for the ENTIRE day. He did not get to play with the other dogs because "they didn't have time for him". She literally said those words to him. She said that he was let out to go potty and get some water, but then went back into his crate. Our dog is not aggressive and had passed the initial assessment and we were told that he would get to play all day long with other dogs, which is why we took him into daycare in the first place. There was absolutely no reason that he should not have been able to play with the group, and their reason that they didn't have time for him made me sick to my stomach. If they were so quick to tell us that they didn't have time for our dog, how many other dogs did they not have time for? Our dog was dehydrated and sad when we brought him home and for the next few days he would not leave our side. I should have taken the initial red flag more seriously, but will never bring my dog back to this place and feel so bad that I put my guy through such a horrible day. read more

I love Delta Dog Camp! I've brought my dog here quite a few times now and she always comes happy and tired. I love the tired part :) I love to support family owned businesses and every time I come I get a warm welcome, regardless of who is behind the desk. The location is very clean and a great place for doggie play time. I also love that the dogs are kept on a good schedule for feeding and naps and are able to play with each other (providing they all get along). It's good to know that my dog still gets to socialize because at home she's the only one. It's super easy to make reservations too, in part because the website is user friendly. I have used several dog camps and Delta Dog is far and beyond the best! My 2 girls love to go and if someone mentions "puppy camp" at my house they get all excited and ready to go. The care and attention to detail is amazing plus you can tell they truly love the dogs. I have used both the day camp and boarding so you can't go wrong with Delta Dog. I recently had gotten a much larger dog and credit them and camp with creating a space where my small dog learned to play well with much larger dogs. I bring my little guy for day camp/ overnight care and have been very very happy with EVERYTHING and everyone at this boarding place. They are so nice and they really have the best interest of your k9 friend at hand. My dog always know as soon as we exit the freeway that we are going to have a good time at camp. He always has a great time and comes home ready for a nap. Very Awesome place , great staff, clean ect ect. They are very open to checking out what they have to offer and pricing is great. My dog has attended Delta Dog Camp a handful of times. Not only are they flexible with Drop-off and pick-up times, but they keep dogs on a tight schedule while they are there. My dog, Hazel LOVES it here. She gets to play with dogs the majority of the day, but also gets a much needed mid-day nap. Hazel always comes home exhausted but happy :-) the staff is friendly, personable and clearly made of dog lovers! I even received pictures of my dog playing and having a blast last time I sent her there! I would recommend Delta Dog Camp to anyone inquiring. If I could give this place zero stars i would. I reserved a space for my dog almost 3 weeks in advance for a 6 week stay. When it came time for my dog's evaluation, 5 days before my family is set to leave, I go into the business and the tall, blond, male employee tells me there isn't a space for my dog. Mind you I called weeks in advance and reserved a space with this same employee over the phone, I know because he has a very distinct voice. He then suggests I take my dog down the street to Derty dogs. I mean thanks for the suggestion because you supposedly can't find space for my dog that had a reservation, but you could have also told me when I called weeks ago for the reservation initially so I could find boarding. My hope is that the owners that care so much about customers, especially ones were going to pay several hundreds of dollars to House their family members, will read this post. read more

Since we are in the middle of moving, I asked if we could board out Dog for the night if her evaluation was good and was told that that would not be a problem.
