On October 6th, I called to make an appointment for my dog to see if they had availability that day or maybe sometime that week. The person who answered the call then said "Let put you on hold and see". While being placed "on hold" I then heard "WHAT THE HECK, SHE HASN'T BEEN IN FOR 5 MONTHS". I then replied with "excuse me?" and was hung up. I was shocked and my husband heard the interaction. I assumed she probably didn't place me on hold and I was not meant to hear that. I then got a phone call back 2 minutes later and was asked if I would like proceed with making an appointment. Without hesitation I asked why would I make an appointment after what you just said, I repeated what she said and she stated she didn't mean it that way and that it's been several months since I've taken my dog for grooming. For the record, I groom my dog at home and have all the necessary tools and products. I occasionally take her to the groomers because they obviously do a way better job than I do, considering I'm spending $150+ tip each visit. This was an odd experience and an unnecessary one. The judging isn't going to help retain new clients. A reminder to those considering to take their dog here to be groomed- there are other groomers in the area. read more

They did i fine job of clipping the nails of both of my cats. Price was reasonable at only $21 per cat compared to the $32 we paid elsewhere. They handle the cats with care. read more

The ladies here are absolutely AMAZING! I usually bring Taco for his pawtycure, and we finally decided to do full bath and hair trim! I told them exactly what I wanted done and they exceeded my expectations! Taco is not like this at every place. He knows where he's loved. Just like how he loves 1 vet, and doesn't like the other vet we tried recently. I happened to read some of these more recent reviews and feel compelled to leave my own review - to start, I have a small dog, no more than 25 lbs, with fine white hair (Coton de Tulear). We used to take him to another groomer a couple of miles away, and it was always hard to get him out of the car because he was terrified of being there. So, we tried Doggie Depot and he's been happy and never afraid to leave the car and go on in, ever since. They wash and trim him just the way I want, no problem. They've also been very flexible with appointment changes, to the extent they can be, and I really appreciate that. My 5 star review remains the same from January 2023 until January 2025. I just thought ya'll could use a new updated review. My dog Coco, and myself, have been treated like royalty. We are on a scheduled calendar for the entire year but sometimes things pop up and we need to change the time or even day. Doggie Depot goes out of their way to accommodate us. They do not have a huge turn over that I know of because we have had the same groomer for the entire time. Coco loves her. We had a schedule change I was talking about this past month. It was our fault and this would be the first time Coco would ever have to have a new groomer. I was concerned as Coco is a bit anxious but Randae, the owner promised us the change of groomers would be an easy and good fit for Coco and for us not to worry. When it was time to pick Coco up she was happy as a lark. She was as beautiful as if her regular girl did it. . Well, almost. Haha. Course we'd never trade, never never, but it's so good to know they've got such a great crew. Thank you girls all of you down there for being so good to us...From the owner, to the front desk to the groomers. We have been going here for many years! They do a great job! My dog is very happy when she goes there and comes out like she had a spa day!

This is an update as promised .. It's been over 1 year now that my little doggie has been going to Doggie Depot now! Not one time have we had an issue with ANYTHING! These groomers are aware of my dogs sensitivity in the sani area & unlike the last groomer who also knew but ignored the situation at least 4 times have never once accidently made the mistake and groomed too closely... My little dog always seems so happy when she comes home. The girls always call me & give me a 15 minute heads up when my dog will be ready to be picked up. I love this as I know my baby hates kennel time. Anytime, the groomer had to change schedules due to a sickness or anything as such which is next to rare, it's never a problem. These people are just too nice to make it a problem. I hope our relationship can continue this way. Thank you Doggie Depot! read more

The location is a little difficult to find at first. Google Maps probably made it difficult lol The space is in an industrial type complex, you walk in and it feels that way despite the add ons they have. I called to get my 12 week old Yorkie-Pomeranian pup who had not had its rabies shots yet to come in for a feet, face, fanny and nail trim. I got in a couple days after I called in. Total was about $35 dollars, thought it was reasonable. The person who was helping me was very dry, no personality. I showed them pics of the types of haircut I wanted to get him when he was older and had it's shots and the person I was talking with told me that she would not cut his hair because he was a Pomeranian. I looked a her perplexed and she stated yeah, because of his type of hair they she wouldn't recommend cutting it. I know many of Pomeranians that get a cut, that's part of taking care of their beautiful hair, so it's a no for us moving forward. Being that our dog is a toy breed I don't think this is the best place for him to go. If you have big dogs this seems like a good place to try out. No frills - just wash and go, standard basic cuts at best. read more

I am so disappointed with Doggie Depot and the customer service. I had a grooming appointment at 9am and needed to be at work at 8:30am. They advertise they are open at 8am and I had to wait until 8:30am for the front desk girl to arrive (Nikisha). Then she refused my dog (after being a loyal customer for 6 years of grooming and boarding) because she couldn't understand how to read my poodles updated vaccination records from Contra Costa County. On top of that when I vented my frustration to both the front desk girl and owner (Randae) they both defensively argued with me. I literally had to remind them that "I am the customer!". Terribly disappointing as my husband and I are busy commuting professionals who just want their poodle healthy. read more

We took our tiny shih tzu to Doggie Depot yesterday and we are stoked that we made that decision. We heard on the Next Door website/ap that this is a good groomer if you want your shih tzu's face to stay round and not look poodle-esk. Here are my thoughts: PROS: -While I filled out the paperwork, the woman held my pup and talked to him and pet him. It was sweet and comforting. -The woman I explained what I wanted to wasn't who groomed him (I don't think?), but she clearly had grooming experience because she made some suggestions which I really needed and it also made me feel super comfortable. The suggestions she made also ended up looking SUPER good. The last groomer I went to, I spoke to a receptionist and it was the COMPLETE opposite. -They had him finished relatively quickly. -He looked amazing after! Super round face. His little beard was cuter than ever and his legs looked like he had cute little boots on. His ears weren't all squared off and awkward. He was super soft and smelled great. -They gave me post grooming suggestions. IE- gave good feedback on what I've been doing grooming/brushing him at home and what I can do from now on (in between grooming appointments, etc). -They are right by a vet. This just makes me feel comfortable because if something were to happen, they could just quickly run a pup over to the vet. -They also do doggie day care and boarding I believe. It's just nice because you can clearly tell they're super into dogs and well rounded. CONS: None! Thanks Doggie Depot! We are stoked and will be back FOR SURE! read more

I absolutely LOVE Doggie Depot!! Randae is an angel walking amongst men..she has such a way with her 4 footed clients!! They take the utmost care and are always sure to keep in touch with me if anything comes up or they have any questions. I take my purebred Cocker Spaniel, Carressa Grace, there and she absolutely adores Randae and her staff! I have never...not ONCE..had a problem or bad grooming experience..you just can't do any better than Doggie Depot. Yes, they do get booked up quickly...sometimes over a month or more in advance but, trust me, it is MORE than worth it..and knowing how far they can book out I always make about 3 appointments ahead just to be safe. I can even bring my Chiweenie down to get her nails trimmed down whenever and they take care of a job that she won't even let the Vet do!! Our family of pets has been cared for by Randae and her team for over five years now. There was a time when I got off schedule and took my loves to another groomer in Brentwood. After 3 times I could not bring myself to have them groomed there due to how my dogs pulled against the leash when we would approach the door. What does this have to do with Doggie Depot? My doggies LOVE coming to Doggie Depot, they jump in the car when I say Spaw Day!!! They are equally as excited to go through the door into the building. Today, I'm leaving a new review to share because of the Shelter-In-Place. As we have been bathing the poocheroos, this is what we've discovered: Bo Peep & Albert are calm, patient, and totally at peace while getting bathed and given a gentle blow-out!! (my dad does gently blow dry them) Their comfort level with this process is a direct result of the kind, patient, and loving service they receive from Doggie Depot's caring (and professional) staff. I brought Dixie (Pekingese/Bichon mix) to Doggie Depot for the second time and was as satisfied at the first time. The first time I provided a photo of what I wanted Dixie to look like and they exceeded my expectations. I'm so happy to finally find a groomer out here in brentwood that is capable of grooming Dixie the way I wanted her. I had taken her to a couple different places and cried after picking her up due to the "hack job" they had given her. The staff is so pleasant and I had great communication through email with them. I have been taking my baby Aiden for grooming at Doggie Depot for so many years now. Sadly, we are moving out of the area and will have to seek new groomers. Brandae, the professional and pet lover that she is immediately requested our new address and said she would take it upon herself to research groomers in that area and inform them of my Aiden's needs and requirements while grooming. For example, he does not like to go in the kennel, he will scratch until he hurts himself. We have so enjoyed Doggie Depot's services and my baby never stressed during his visits there. So grateful to have found Doggie Depot! My parents have been taking their dog here for years, so when I got a lab puppy (after she was fully vaccinated) we started boarding and grooming her here. They are awesome with scheduling and always fit us in for a grooming while we are boarding. Leaving the dog is stressful so I am so grateful that they send me pictures and keep me updated. Took our shih tzu Casey here for his first grooming based on the good reviews from Yelpers :) When we first got Casey he was a head full of hair mess. Didn't want to do the "pony tail on top of head" thing - that's for girls :P We did our best to trim him, but the fam was a little worried about cutting around his face. So we made an appointment. Apparently they get pretty booked. First available was during the first week in May but there was a cancellation and we swooped in on it. Dropped off Casey around 10am and picked up at 2:15pm. Service included haircut, bath, and nail trim for $50. There were plenty of dogs waiting for their service. Staff was friendly and helpful, especially as new owners we didn't know what to expect. Casey looks like a totally different dog! He came home super clean and his hair was so soft! Best part is we can now see his cute face :) Like with any haircut, it'll take a little getting used to, but overall, the fam is pleased with the results (see pic). read more

At first, I'm very disappointed the waiting time, it took so long, more than 4 hours to get done. However, when we picked up our 2 dogs, it is hardly to recognize them. A Doggie Must Do! We don't generally take our mutts in for grooming. Partially because we think, oh we got this, and partially because we're cheap! Well, sometimes you just have to accept the fact that you're NOT keeping up on it and everyone is suffering. Not to mention one of them got a quarantine cut that is downright embarrassing. After 2 months on lockdown mani-pedi's were a must do! And other services just as important. You know you've been neglectful if they have to ask to trim up they're feet. Today was our first time at Doggie Depot. We normally get our Shih Tzu, Lola, groomed at Pampered Pet & Spa in Brentwood, however, to make an appointment is always at least 3 weeks out, which doesn't always work for us and is an inconvenience. I called this pet spa last minute with hopes of them being able to squeeze us in. The lady I spoke with didn't think they had an opening, but double checked their schedule and was able to fit us in the SAME DAY! Great service, friendly staff and reasonable/affordable price! Lola was looking quite scruffy and slightly matted and a few hours later, we picked up our perfectly groomed, fresh smelling Lola in perfect condition. They did a great job. We take my 4 year old golden, Lucy, and our 1 year old shih tzu \ bichon poo mix Buster here for their spa days! Lucy doesnt take that much detail, we just get her cleaned up/ears done/nails trimmed. But Buster on the other hand takes some work. They spend a little extra time on him getting through his matts caused by rough play with Lucy. She always tries to get the cut we're hoping for with Buster, howver she comunicates very well about our expectations and whats realistic. Both dogs come home prancing off their new haircuts, perfectly done, and fluffy smelling good furs. She's been very helpful as it is our first time ever owning a toy sized dog with alot of grooming maintenance. my favorite thing about taking my animals there is how excited they get when they look out the car window and recognize where they are going. I have been going to Doggie Depot for 4 years with my loves, Cockers Dory and Deuce. While they are always groomed wonderfully I can no longer continue on here. My Boxer passed suddenly at almost 10 and I missed my appointment while we ran Bruiser to the ER Vet in Concord. Unfortunately and I'm just devastated to say we lost our baby. I called to reschedule the Cockers and I can't get in until after the New Year after explaining my situation they were non-plussed. That is a totally unacceptable way to treat loyal paying customers.
