However, note that they have several hours mid-day where they are not open. We arrived at 10:55 to drop off our dog on the way to the airport for a week long vacation. The two staff were already scurrying out the front doors as we arrived and refused to take our dog. They said they had already locked up the back and if we tried to leave him there they would call the police for animal abandonment! I have never been more stressed out in my life as we frantically tried to find a place to take our dog with no notice and rushed to the airport. It ruined our vacation. We have never been back since. They are rude and do not even keep the hours they post let alone go the extra mile. Be very careful about the time if you choose to risk it here.

Hired her last year in August. Went through an extensive interview/introduction meeting prior to…read moreuse. Took lots of notes, pictures, videos of how to do things. Some things I thought didn't need pictures or videos... But thought she was being thorough. First few visits got lots of text messages about questions, concerns, comments. Again, didn't think too much of it thought she was being thorough. Then started getting phone calls at work that were not emergencies, had to tell her to text my mom, my daughter or myself and one of us would respond. Even though this was all discussed at the interview/introduction meeting and in writing on her form. When I first interviewed her, I told her my old girl might need her bottom washed once in a while if she had an accident and she said she was fine with that. A few months after being with us, she decided she didn't want to do that if the need of arose. I took a pause on using her even though I had prepaid visits due to this. So family was helping take care of the animals and I wasn't using my paid visits. Fast-forward to today I had to hire her because the family that was helping me with my dogs is hospitalized at this point. We went through lots of things last night through text messages and notes on the counter today walking her through everything. I started to get lots of text messages today because she couldn't contain my four month old puppy. She couldn't get her back in the kennel. She couldn't get her into a gates off area in the hallway, catch her and put her back in her kennel. When asked if she could do that, she said she didn't want to that she might be bit. The puppy was barking at her because she was afraid, but the puppy would not have bitten her. She knows that some of the dogs that I have don't get along with each other hence the baby gates and she was making comments about walking them through the family room to go out to go potty even though the one dog who doesn't get along with others is baby gated in the family room. You would have to go through her area to get outside, which wouldn't be a safe alternative. Also with the dogs "being afraid of her" I wouldn't want her to open the door and take them outside with the option of them getting loose, lost or hit by cars. I asked her to get the puppy into the kitchen so that she had one area to be contained in and was safe. I didn't think I would have to educate a dog sitter/dog owner to puppy proof the kitchen before she left. I left work early and rushed home because I couldn't see the puppy on camera. When I got home I walked into a huge mess. The puppy had torn up all kinds of dog diapers, gotten into dog shampoo, destroyed an entire full pack of baby wipes. Plus, there was two things that are electrical plugged in the area. The puppy chewed on one item. It's just shocking that someone that has a dog and has a business that's around animals couldn't think outside the box. Needless to say, I've terminated our contract and will not be using her again. I would not recommend using her to anyone. Per owners response: I appreciate the questions but when I have answered the questions and you repeatedly do not follow the response that is very frustrating. Usually someone hires you because they can not be available such as work. When you can't follow the agreed upon instructions and have to repeatedly text or call the number for emergencies only and not really an emergency it gets very hard to continue to do business with you. You may have received training but you are very much lacking in common sense. You were given multiple ways to contain a puppy. None of which you wanted to follow. So finally because I had to go back to work I said contain in kitchen. Though I never thought I would have to hand hold you and tell you to pick up everything she could get into especially if you have had training! Also she is not fearful nor has she bit anyone. So it may be you! With all the training you state you have had I am surprised you couldn't manage a 4 mo old puppy. You also seemed to struggle with my clear directions of separation of specific dogs for safety. You wanted to walk 2 of them through an area where a dog was that would be a safety issue. To move said dog you would need to take her into the kitchen where the puppy was you couldn't contain. So again compromising safety. I spent a 45 minute commute home one wondering if my dogs were secure in the home, two if my puppy was secure or missing because she could not be seen or heard on camera, three my geriatric dog you were initially hired for was on the ground and not on her bed. Plus when I got home she had an accident which leads me to believe she did not relieve herself even though you said you took her out. Ultimately, I think people need to understand that you don't follow through with what you say you're going to do. And you come across as knowledgeable, but you don't know how to handle specific situations that are not that hard to handle.

I called multiple times (1:30 PM and 3:30 PM) and was told the same thing each time: "they're almost done" and "up next." No call ever came. When we finally showed up at closing, only one dog was ready. The other hadn't even had their finishing cut or brush-out completed. This turned into a 9-hour ordeal with no updates, and my dinner plans were completely ruined. My dogs were also there all day without food. To make matters worse, the owner didn't apologize, did. It even approached my husband and one of the workers asked for a tip. Really? This is unacceptable--poor communication, poor time management, and unprofessional service. I will not be returning. Schedule if you want a daycare without communication.

As it's her first grooming, I needed it to be a positive experience for Summer so that she can enjoy future grooming experiences. I called and spoke with all the mobile and brick-and-mortar grooming shops in the Bay Area and settled with Yabadabadoo for the following reasons: (1) Alex has the most years of experience in dog grooming compared to any other groomer in the area; (2) They send two groomers to do the job, which goes to show dedication to each grooming experience rather than maximizing # of jobs; (3) I looked in detail in every review, and Yabadabadoo, while admittedly having a lesser quantity of reviews, had no reports of negligence or negative experiences at all. I found that with other groomers, there were bad experiences reported in between the good ones. I found that this is the case because typically a business or owner will employ groomers rather than do the job themselves. Here with Yabadabadoo, the co-owners Alex and Jose do all the work themselves. After settling and scheduling the appointment, Alex and Jose arrived and took extreme care of Summer. When checking in here and there, Summer looked extremely relaxed and they took amazing care for her. Their mobile station was very clean with all needed equipment as well. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience for Summer. Our Summer doesn't even like toys but plays well with the Christmas Tree squishy toy they gave her! Our family truly appreciates the love, care, and dedication shown to Summer from Yabadabadoo. And trust me we are especially picky with these types of things.

Josh is a genuinely kind person with a heart of gold, but based on our experience, I would not…read morerecommend him as a dog trainer. We paid over $6,000 for a one-month board-and-train program for our German Shepherd. One of the first things that concerned us was that he told us he had "his dogs" teaching our dog how to be a dog. We expected that, for the price, our dog would receive consistent, hands-on training from the trainer himself. Because the training took place over the Christmas holidays, it felt like our dog did not receive the level of attention and daily training we had anticipated. We also expected that, at the end of the program, we as the owners would receive several training sessions to learn how to maintain and reinforce the work at home. That never happened. When our dog came home, she was still reactive, continued chewing things as she had before, and overall showed little to no improvement. Josh gave us a spray collar (citronella or a similar scent) and instructed us to use it whenever she barked. I wasn't comfortable using it because it felt like it addressed the symptoms rather than the underlying behavior, so I chose not to use it. He also suggested that she was simply too active and that we should consider rehoming her if we couldn't handle her. That advice turned out to be completely wrong for our dog. Afterward, we worked with a local trainer for three months who focused on daily, balanced, hands-on training for both our dog and us--without spray collars or gimmicks. The transformation was remarkable. Her reactivity is gone, she learned how to behave appropriately, and we realized she wasn't "too active" at all. She was simply a family dog who needed consistent guidance and proper training. Looking back, I feel that the board-and-train program was not worth the money we paid. While Josh was always pleasant and well-intentioned, our experience was that the program did not deliver the training or results we were promised. Don't waste your money. Josh may be a great guy to rescue dogs, but in our experience he does not know how to do reactivity training or work alongside owners to change challenging behaviors.

He tries to physically fight anyone who asks him to put his dog on a leash. Josh was minding his own business and simply picked up his small dog...who cares?! That does not warrant a bad review.
