    The communication could improve. I called on a Friday mid…read moremorning to say that I had spots, lines ,and that I was losing vision in my eye. I explained that I had spots before due to a cataract, but this was absolutely different. I was directed to the nurse and I left a message. At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, I realize that no one had gotten back to me and that they closed at four . I called again. Spoke to the same receptionist again. Although her customer service was basic, her attention to detail was poor. I was pretty upset so she said that she would speak to the doctor. I have no idea if she did or not. Long story short I was directed to go to the emergency room if it got worse if not, I could see them the following Tuesday or Thursday. I ended up going to the emergency room at 9 PM and they sent me via ambulance to UC Davis. I had a complete detached retina and a few other complications. I was told by the emergency room doctor and also by a doctor that I spoke with at UC Davis that had I waited, I could have completely lost my vision. The next week I called the office and asked to speak to the office manager. I was told first that he was out sick, then I was told that he was at lunch, and then I was told he went home for the day. I actually left two messages for him. To this day I have never received a phone call back from anyone. To add insult to injury, I received a phone call back from the nurse on the following Monday. She stated I should get a hold of the front office and let them know that I needed an appointment. Again, no urgency. It was obvious that they did not communicate with one another. I understand that I am certainly not the only patient but this was a true emergency. In the past, I have had amazing care at this office. I saw Dr. Chen for years and have great respect for him and his son. I am highly disappointed that I have not received a phone call back and that no one actually cared that I was literally going blind. I would recommend UC Davis, Eye Center for any issues that anyone has. In closing, I will not be returning to this office . I am only sharing this in hopes that they may actually listen to the next patient with this or any other issue. Had I not been my own advocate, and gone to the emergency room, I'm not sure what would have happened. Connie Ibarra

    SCAMMERS! went in just under two months ago. I had a floater in my eye and double vision. I also…read moretold them I had previous surgery for eye alignment. I explained all this to them, so they understand my situation. They proceeded with eye exam, which I thought was a real eye exam, IT IS NOT! they're not real doctors. They're eyewear dealers and they don't explain that to you. Then they take you into a room with a person on a screen. I continued to explain my situation to him, and he said please just finish the exam. so, I did. Then they take you outside and you wait for results. Once the results come in and they sell you glasses. The gal that helped me out told me the glasses would fix all my issues. I explained to her my situation as well and she insisted I buy the glasses, so I did. Couple weeks went by and my glasses arrived. I was excited to fix my ongoing issues. Got to the dealer and put the glasses on, immediate blurriness. Jenn, skinny gal, very untrustworthy fyi. says just wear them for a few hours a day until I get used to them. I did just that. headaches, blurriness, and over uncomfortable took over. I couldn't take it so two weeks before my 30day policy to return the glasses I went in and told Jenn that I was unhappy with the product and wanted a refund. she asked for an explanation, so I told her what was going on with my vision and how the glasses were non effective. she said oh, we don't check eye health here!!!!! what!!! you have to go get checked by an eye doctor. so, you're telling me this whole time I've been played to buy these??? I asked for a recommendation to go get checked. she said don't worry we will honor what they prescribe. I said OK that's fine I'll be back after I see a doctor. Made an appointment that day to see the doctor they recommended and it was two weeks out. I knew that would put me outside my 30 days, but Jen didn't seem like she wanted to scam me at the moment, so I just went with the flow. Saw the doctor at my appointment. They did real testing and they said my eye can't be fixed without surgery, and that's not all. They also said that they're not sure why Stanton gave me a prescription for my good eye if it seems I have better than 20 visions on that eye. To say the least I was very upset. I asked for documentation so I could show Stanton. Paid my fees and was on my way. Went to Stanton for my refund and guess who's there, yep! Jenn. I was very cordial and told her I did what I've been asked, and the conclusion is glasses won't work for me here is the paperwork. She refused to read them and said ill refund you. she logged into her computer and said I can't refund the exam but ill refund the glasses. I said fine just do it, even though I explained my situation to everyone. Not but a minute later after her doing whatever she was doing she said, you're going to need to talk to the manager and he's not here right now. he will be here in one hour. I will tell him to call you. I wanted to wait but I said fine I'll wait for his call. she tried to give me the glasses back and I said I don't need them and walked out. I waited one week for the call, and it never happened. I'm about done! I call in and I get rerouted to customer service; I explain the situation and then get rerouted back to Lodi Stanton. Guess who's on the call? Jenn! guess who decides to tell me that they can't process my return because I waited over my 30days. I told her that's bs. I did everything I was told, followed your orders as a professional and now I have to pay for everyone's mistakes. I DONT THINK SO! She also stated she was new there and never talked to me lol REALLY! so, there's two Jens? she ignored the question over and over and finally said you're going to need to talk to the manager. I said that's what you told me last week! she lightly apologized which means its the same Jenn. She promised to call me back no later than Saturday June 20,2026. I didn't receive a call or my money back. I'm now making a case with my bank and potentially seeking legal action. If anyone else has a story like mine, please contact me. I want to hear your story and want to connect with you and take this to another level. These scammers need to be stopped. 209-452-5085
