I've been coming here for three years and am very satisfied with their services. Dr. Jerome Burke retired and I miss him. Now I see Dr. Rosio Sandoval and she's just as wonderful. They adjust frames to fit my face just right. Very happy with the service here. I have gone to other doctors in this area to treat my eyes. However, all the staff here are courteous and patient. I watched how one of the ladies was helping an older gentleman in his late 70's pick out glasses and she was extremely kind and not in a rush. He even told her thank you since she worked with his budget. Dr. Sandoval helped me with my appointment. She went above an beyond by explaining the issues I was having and why. If rude and incompetent is your speed, then this place is for you. The females answering phones and running the front desk and incredibly rude and will overcharge you and/or not charge your insurance allotment correctly without absolutely any remorse. When speaking with the owner regarding issues with my incorrect contact rx from a doctor there as well as the incompetent and ignorant front staff the owner also shows no sympathy or effort to correct yet felt the need to insult me in several ways from knowledge of me being a long term customer. My whole family used to see dr Burke or other new doctors they brought in and we have all since found better options I'd give a zero if I could read more

First time using my new insurance and a first time patient at Burke Optometry - I loved it! Dr. Sandoval was so nice, thorough, and personable. She made me feel very comfortable by asking me questions and sharing her own experiences. She informed me of everything we covered during my appointment and even told me how the process of choosing eyewear will look like. Both her and Gianna explained my insurance coverage extensively and I didn't feel lost at all when it came time to pay for my overages. Gianna was amazing when it came to choosing my glasses, she made sure to find styles I would like based off of what we discussed and what I pre-chose online. It really felt like she was being honest and transparent so that I wouldn't pick glasses I'd later regret. I just want to start off by saying the staff was such a pleasure to work with! However once i saw Dr. Germaine Burke for my annual eye exam, all she kept commenting about throughout my whole exam was my eyelash extensions. She was a bit condescending when talking about them making comments calling them "wonky""crazy" and "wild" which I did not appreciate and I regret not telling her it made me feel uncomfortable in the moment. I have trouble with confrontation head on and I was just taking all of her punches laughing it off. It felt like she was treating me as if I was a circus freak because she has never seen eyelash extensions like mine. I can't count all of the passive comments. I appreciated her educating me the risks associated with eyelash extensions with contact lenses and told her I have never had a problem with infections because I am very clean and wash my lashes 3x a day. She continued to make the condescending comments like "I don't know why people get those done" "your lashes are longer than what is recommended for the average person" "you're going to have a hard time seeing through these with those ginormous lashes" "You'd still look cute if your lashes were shorter" I understand everyone has their preferences and opinions on someone's appearance, but whatever you disagree with shouldn't concern you. That is what makes me feel happy and confident every day. And for a doctor to constantly poke fun at you for something that is supposed to make you feel good about yourself is very unprofessional. I personally felt bullied and I am writing this review in hopes for her to learn to have more empathy with her future patients and to be kind and keep the environment professional. I just came in for an eye prescription, not to be bullied about the length of my lashes. She kept commenting even when I walked out of the office not sure why it bothered her so much but I felt as if she wanted to make me feel insecure and embarrassed about it. If eyelash extensions are an issue for the success of an eye exam I would highly recommend you to put in your policies for patients to remove them before coming in. I won't be coming here anymore for my annual eye exams but I really hope you take this review into consideration for the future to treat patients better with more kindness and professionalism. read more
