The first time I saw Jeff was at his office in Punta Gorda. A day when my only working hearing aid came apart from the ear piece. A time when I was budgeting in between jobs. Seems those are the times most of our machinery have issues. That day Michelle the office manager greeted me, listened to my issue, then dashed off down the hallway. She returned with a box full of ear pieces ranging from all sizes. Each one uniquely different in the slightest variation as far as the eye could see. After several attempts, we managed a temporary solution. Jeff came to the desk to introduce himself. His tall structure and his neatly pressed white coat made his entrance seem like a guest appearance from General Hospital. He listened to my situation and insisted I follow up with him. Our agreement needed no exchange of information. Only a handshake. I returned to his office for my annual hearing test. He remains my primary hearing provider. Unlike the doctors on soap operas. Jeff was someone who believed in old fashioned integrity. His work ethics shows he genuinely wishes to better peoples lives. I suppose it takes a special kind of listening to be a great hearing provider. And sometimes it takes a hearing impaired person to clearly see those qualities.

Stopped here out of curiosity and convenience and was immediately impressed with Dr. George Hurwitz's professionalism and concern for my sight conditions. Updated prescription and quick turnaround with new lenses with no pressure to update my somewhat expensive frames that had already served me well for a few years. A couple years later Dr. Hurwitz referred to their LASIK surgeon in Sarasota to correct an ongoing problem which has also been beneficial.
