It's just one of those places where the nostalgia hits you like a wave. Every aisle is filled with treasures from your childhood: toys you had, toys you wanted but couldn't afford, and even some you totally forgot existed until they were right there in front of you. I told a friend recently that if I had a million dollars to spend only on toys, I'd still leave that store with a wishlist. It's that packed with incredible finds. They have toys dating all the way back to the 1920s, through the golden eras of the '50s, '60s, '70s, and into the '80s and '90s--the stuff we now lovingly call "vintage" or "retro." From Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Star Wars to Marvel Comics, classic board games, and massive collectible statues, the selection is wild. I'm doing a couple of photo dumps just to show people how deep the nostalgia runs there. It's more than a store--it's an experience. If you're within driving distance, I highly recommend making a day of it. Explore the beautiful town of Canal Fulton, grab some food, and then spend time walking through this amazing shop. You won't regret it. And if you're not local--good news--they ship nationwide (possibly even worldwide). Right now they've got a spring sale: 20% off most items, and even 10% off statues and busts. Plus, they're gearing up for a huge Free Comic Book Day event, with a block party, vendors, and performers. Definitely worth checking out. The unit was taken back to T & K for follow-up work and still does not work after being checked out two times. We are very dissatisfied with the services. No train under the tree this year.

While their selection is decent, the prices are pretty much all on par with or higher than what you can expect to find online for the same items. This is pretty typical for local game shops so I don't hold that against them. However, what was weird was as soon as we walked in, we were apparently on a livestream they were doing. That's kind of weird to be filmed immediately upon entering a business, particularly with no written warning outside. We still walked around inside (thankfully mostly out of camera range), but the employees seemed very intent on their stream and keeping things "interesting" with their commentary. It was overall a pretty off-putting experience, despite the fact that their business otherwise seemed like a cool addition to the local business environment. I would consider returning here again in the future to give them another try, though I have to state the obvious: first impressions are important, and running a business still remains more about the customers in your store than your following online. Overall: 3.0 stars ---- Pros: - Nicely-laid out store with a good presentation. - Prices are pretty on par with most other small retro gaming stores: same/higher prices than online, though still fun to look through and support if you find something you like. - Available street parking outside. Cons: - Walking into an active stream and being on camera without warning might seem quaint considering how online the world is today, but I wasn't a fan. I would have been somewhat more okay with this if they had put up a sign outside about it. Also, their commentary was pretty typical for the online gaming community but a bit off-color for public consumption in terms of professionalism.

In July of last year, I purchased a brand-new MTH train from Patrick's Trains. When I received it,…read moreit ran poorly, so I sent it back to him. In an email, he told me, "If it cannot be fixed, we will send you a replacement." After receiving the item, he called me to tell me there was nothing wrong with it and that he was sending it back to me. In December of last year, it still ran poorly, so contacted Patrick's Trains again. Instead of agreeing to take it back for repair or replacement, he referred me directly to Rich, a member of MTH Trains senior management. He told me to send the item to him and his in-house technician would repair it. I received it back on January 26. The repair was not successful, and it sustained damage in transit, so I wrote to Rich and told him I will return the item to him for a refund. I returned it to him at a trade show on January 29, and he told me that he cannot issue a refund but would issue a credit to Patrick's Trains and to expect a refund from them. Over 30 days later, I have not received my refund. I called Patrick's Trains on Feb. 24, spoke with Pat, and he refused to help. He told me he issued the refund with his credit card payment processing company on Feb. 8. I explained to him that I haven't yet received my refund and asked him to address this with his processing company and just send me a check. He refused to do that, and then said, "You're an a$$h@@le, and I don't care about your refund," and hung up the phone.

Staff is super friendly, but if you come in asking for maps or puzzles be prepared to be hit on the head. I love how their name badges are nicknames like Boomhauer and Overlord. Address them by those names to give em a smile. Large variety of comics both old and current. There are action figures n games too but I didn't pay much attention to them. Very spacious. Supplies are well priced and in good variety.
