Classroom facilities are located on the second floor, allowing the ground floor to be dedicated to their showroom. I seek out quilt stores for my wife any time we make a road trip and this store was the first of five, on a recent trip to southern Minnesota. (We live near Columbia, MO.) To the best of my knowledge, the wife found their prices to be competitive and we left with an armful of "stuff." If we pass through Cedar Rapids again, I have no doubt that "Inspired to Sew" will be on our itinerary.

Overall, I've brought in dozen of items - once they took about a dozen Wicker boxes and bags and some other items - and six months later I got $20. Recently I brought in brand new and greatly taken care of yard tools. Some of the limb and tree trimmers were even in the box. They're probably $50-$100 new. The next week when I stopped in and noticed they were all gone. I asked for my payout. It was $50. Should have done Facebook market. Either they were pricing in these items obscenely low (although when I look to ship the prices or normal and even high) or fill in the blank yourself. The next week, I took in 2 boxes and a suitcase o clothes... the lady wasn't working and the man took the entire thing, including $100 suitcase that I brought only for transportation, but they said he would take it. I stopped in a week later, and the lady is still not there. The man tells me those weren't the type of clothes they were looking for and they donated that them all to Goodwill but could not provide me the receipt of donation. I could've probably sold it overtime on Poshmark for hundreds of dollars. These people are the worst.

We went to one garden center in Cedar Rapids and the employee/owner recommended we check it out because we were looking for specific things. Oh and it was like being in Disneyland! We got such beautiful flowers and then when we went back the following year, think early May or the week before Mother's Day we got some Mock Orange shrubs that were 50% off because they were from last year and boy are they doing beautifully. In that same trip we got some native plants and flowers which is super neat. Their plants are healthy so we definitely get what you pay for. I'm a big flower gardener and since going here no other nursery in our area can compete. Some might find it on the high side, just depends on what you get, but if you think of establishing a long term perennial garden, the value is so there!

I stopped in one downtown district shop crawl and was instantly greeted by the shop owner, Jan. What a wonderful lady! I loved the shop. A couple Iowa-centric items, lots of beautiful decor, paintings, furniture-- all carefully curated. I begrudgingly left that night empty handed. (A lot of the items on my radar were not surprisingly pricey. I unfortunately tend to have expensive taste. And this shop definitely has some higher end items.) Then, last week, I realized they sell items ONLINE with free contactless local delivery. *Happy Dance* I'm not sure if you've perused the Northside? But currently an entire street is closed to outside dining which is amazing, but does the parking situation no favors. ANYWAYS. The online shop was filled with candles, tea towels, furniture, pillows, vases, rugs, artwork... the whole gambit. I found an amazing photo of the pedestrian mall in the rain. I couldn't resist. My treasure was well priced. Jan emailed me personally that night to set up next day delivery. I found my package neatly put between my doors, packed with care. The cherry on top was a handwritten note from the shop owner. The picture is perfection. I haven't used Luxe for interior design purposes. (And due to my frequent HGTV watching and inherent designing expertise, let's face it. I probably won't anytime soon. ;)) But Jan is fabulous, the shop has tons of flair. In August, we received another email with an invoice for $2,100 as she had received items in her warehouse which we paid. The owner failed to keep us posted on timelines and deliveries which we were supposed to have in September (after paying for items in August). Our delivery was scheduled for October 22 when I got a call that the truck had been in an accident and all of our pieces were damaged and she would have to reorder. She did not offer a refund. Months later, she delivers $6,000 worth of the items. That was the end of it. I finally called and demanded a refund which they processed (has not reached my card yet). I come to find out that 1) No one at Luxe Interiors ever heard anything about an accident and 2) the order for one sofa was never placed and the other order was placed then cancelled back in December. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE LYING CRIMINALS!

While my purchase was being totaled there was a younger woman with long brownish hair badmouthing a customer who had called in to request information. I was appalled. Customers like this individual and myself keep your business in business!!! An employee, owner or manager should NEVER be badmouthing a customer in front of other customers!!! I have waited three weeks to post anything because I just don't like posting negative feedback but, I still have a really bad taste from my experience there. The entire time I was there this person was rude to the employees there and it was very offensive. I visit the Amana every so often and I always shop there however I have to say this visit will definitely be my last. I don't know if this woman was the manager or the owner but, she was definitely out-of-line in her behavior. I have worked in the retail business for several years and never ever would I have acted in such a manner. Yes, the shop was nice but, the behavior was terrible!!! Bad on you!!!
