They make sure you know they are available in the case of an emergency although we did not have one. I felt like I could contact them any time and not be a bother. As compared to our previous orthodontist we went to for another child, this is a whole different experience. The "other guy" made us pay each time before our kid could sit in the chair! We didn't know there was any other way. This business has a flexible payment policy -- not heavy handed with the financial transactions. Of course you *do have to pay, but you knew that. They also worked with our insurance provider to minimize our paperwork load. Bonus: wifi (pretty standard now but still nice) and free coffee. I highly recommend these providers.

There's the…read moreregular appointments, all the appliances, your child not doing what they're supposed to, and of course all the costs associated with braces, etc. I have to say from day one, Dr. DeMaio and his staff went above and beyond in making sure my children's treatment went as smoothly as possible. My first experience with the office was roughly eight years ago. My son had an unusual situation that went beyond straight teeth and required procedures that I wasn't familiar with at all. When I had braces some 40 years ago, they just slapped them on, cranked them up and said see you next month. When I got them off, they said "bye" and gave me a retainer that I promptly lost. Well, Dr. DeMaio explained what was happening with my son and what he needed. He answered all our questions and made sure we understood everything. Now, my son was not the most responsible patient, but Dr. DeMaio was patient and firm with him, explaining that the sooner got on the program, the easier it was going to be. My wife and were very satisfied with the attention my son received, so much so that when my daughter got to the age when she needed braces, we brought her to Dr. D. (if you look at my user pic, that's her in her braces.) We're just about done with her stint. If my youngest daughter needs braces, we're going to Dr. DeMaio. A few words about the staff. They are professional, friendly, attentive and good-humored. They're always smiling. They got to know me, and my absent-mindedness. When I forgot one of my daughter's appointments, they started sending me text messages as an extra reminder, which was helpful. Now, the bill... we didn't have insurance, but Dr. DeMaio painlessly arranged things, we stuck to the program and it was never a problem. It made things very easy. We have never had a bad experience there and would refer my best friends' kids to them, and they live about an hour away.

I only came here because it was the only place that would see me in 2 weeks from making my appt…read more All the others are backed up or something because they're booked up months or even up to 1 year in advance. The first time I went, I did see a dentist but he only checked my X-rays and that was it. The next time I went, I only saw the dental hygienist and she cleaned my teeth. The 3rd and final time I went, the same dental hygienist took my new yearly X-rays and cleaned my teeth. She even went to go get the dentist and he never even came because he was supposedly busy, so again I never saw a dentist. They charge you for Oral ID even if your insurance covers it, mine does cover it and they charged me more than my insurance allows them to. All in all, not a great place in my experience. All the times I went there, I never saw a dentist, only ONE time and he didn't even do much, all he did was look at my X-rays for 2 mins and left. The other dentist I use to go to actually cleaned my teeth and everything so i don't know why it's SO DIFFICULT for the dentists at this dental office to even clean your teeth or to even see a dentist, that's just ridiculous to me. And the woman, who's older and white, at the check out area out is slow. I remember she use to be the front desk receptionist and she scared me when she said that my insurance shows that I'm not active in the bcbs system.. this happened during my 2nd visit. I had to call my insurance and they verified that I am and it was all chaos for a few minutes. The customer service rep for bcbs even told me to ask her "what does it exactly say in the system" and when I asked the receptionist she looked confused and said "what system?" and i got mad inside because what do you mean what system??? The system you're looking at right now like hello??? When you have bcbs ppo out of state insurance, they're suppose to put your bcbs out of state insurance info through bcbs of MA and bill it through bcbs of ma and this woman didn't even know because she doesn't know how to do her job. Her job is to be verifying people's insurances before their appt and she didn't even do that before my appt and all of this chaos happened because of her. It was so irritating. That's why on my last visit, I was glad she wasn't the front desk receptionist anymore because she's slow and unorganized & when I saw that she's the check out receptionist I just sighed and she was still slow and unorganized. Also, this place is hell bent on getting your wisdom teeth taken out, they kept bringing it up at every visit when all of my wisdom teeth are fine. This was my experience, yours could be different than mine.

He was in agony with a toothache. He always paid In full at the time of the appointment . This man never owed them money . He said upfront that he could pay half the money for the visit and would need to be billed for the rest. They flat out refused to take a look at him because he didn't have full payment. He was practically in tears from the pain and they sent him on his way. He begged them to help him. Terrible thing to do to a person in need.
