He even made us a beautiful and unique gate that slides into the peninsula that we will use as a doggie door so that we can keep our dog in the kitchen. Our tween daughter was so impressed that she said she wanted to move into the kitchen (she was only half joking). I could tell she loved her job and cared about her clients. She came prepared for the house visit: brought me a printed notebook with bagua maps laid over my floor plans and took notes for me so I did not have to. We chatted and walked around the house for readings. She also did an energy cleaning at the end of the consultation. The whole session took a little over 3 hours. A few days later, she sent a follow up email with more notes and links for subjects we discussed. Susan was also very mindful of my germaphobic tendencies and offered to bring extra clean clothes and socks to wear inside my house. When I asked her questions, she took her time to double check with her notes before answering. It is a lot of new information to absorb. I appreciated her due diligence. Her method was different from the previous fenshui consultant I tried. It's more natural and less hoaky, which suits my style more. For the price range, it's best to consult with her over the phone and review which package suits you. It's very convenient for me that she takes credit cards!

A quintessential country Christmas tree farm experience! Staff and guests are often roasting chestnuts (on the open fire, of course) and the crew there is eager to help you select the perfect tree for your home. They have a great selection of cut-your-own Christmas trees in the back plot, and plenty of pre-cut trees right up front to choose from. Similar or better prices to everywhere else in the area, but in a class of its own for experience. Bring a camera, pour yourself a cup of hot cider, sit by the fire, chat with the staff and guests, and take in the whole experience. I'm a fan! Even if you already have your own artificial tree, stop by and hang out for some extra Christmas cheer. The barn stocked with antiques (not for sale) and decorated with fresh cut garland, fresh Christmas wreaths and kissing balls (the latter two ARE for sale), is worth the trip alone. Definitely on the list of "things to do when visiting Rhinebeck" this holiday season. Past years, they've had dog sleds to help pull your tree, live music and other fun events at the farm from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas eve. While not as close as everything else in the village, Saltsmans Christmas tree farm is walkable from the shops and restaurants at the center of town. I grew up going here and we used to walk through the woods between our home and the tree farm to cut our own tree at Tremp's.
