That said, there were a few concerns during our visit that I think are important to mention, mainly around pricing and safety. First, admission is $20 per person, including adults. For parents who are there primarily to supervise and occasionally assist a younger child, that adds up quickly. Some of the equipment involves large mats and tubes that can be heavy for smaller kids to carry on their own, and it would be nice for parents to be able to help without needing to purchase a full-price admission for themselves. My biggest concern, however, is safety. The layout is very open, with multiple access points, and there is currently no check-in/check-out system matching children with the adults they arrived with. As it is now, someone could enter or leave with very little attention paid, and there is no wristband or stamp process that verifies that each child is leaving with their actual parent or guardian. A simple matching bracelet or stamp system would make a tremendous difference in peace of mind. While there were staff members present, several of them appeared distracted -- talking with friends or generally not paying close attention to what was happening in the play areas. They also weren't very easy to identify as staff. If parents are expected to stay off certain equipment unless they pay admission, it would really help to have clearly identifiable staff who are actively monitoring and assisting -- especially at the top of larger slides or play structures where younger kids may need help. Overall, my child enjoyed the visit, and the concept of the place is great. With stronger safety procedures at the door and more attentive, easily identifiable staff presence throughout, this could be an outstanding place for families. If you go just really keep an eye out. Hate to see anything bad happen in this place in the future

If you forget to fill out the wavers, as you enter the amusement park parking lot, on poles are QR codes that take you right to the online wavers. Don't be THAT person. Do what you are supposed to do. This place is about the size of the parking lot. It's perfect! To all those folks who can't go on rollercoasters and get made fun of because of some sort of anxiety, this is your place! Only one fast body water slide that I did not go on. That being said, there are 7 slides. 2 of the 7 are inner tube slides. The rest are body slides. There's also a pool, small hot tub, shop and place where you can buy food (don't bring your cooler or any outside food). Drinks are free all day! Male and Female changing and bathrooms are easily accessible. In-between those areas are the small, medium and large lockers if you need them. Find yourself an Adirondack chair and have a great time at this little gem of an amusement park. As we were there, they were putting up their 40th Anniversary signs. Happy Anniversary! I had a blast on their thrill rides such as the OG wooden roller coaster which was built way before we were born in 1958...yup, its age does add an extra rocky and spooky element when you are on this ride. Their mini golf course was cute and with enough challenging designs for family fun. Hole in one at hole 16 and 17 was a thoughtful and encouraging design too. Paid parking available and free street parking is possible if you park further away. Staff is overall quite friendly. Vendor foods' costs are of course usually higher at an amusement park but hot dogs, burgers, pizza, donuts and cotton candy are the standard food options at an amusement park. Tips: Recommend to visit on a less sunny or even cloudy day to avoid the heat while in lineup. Do bring a hat or sunscreen on sunny days and stay hydrated. Look for online promotion when buying admission tickets for better value and please don't compare Playland to Disneyland. I chose to visit Playland when PNE is not open for less crowds and spent about half a day there. Put your hands up on the rides and scream for a good time :)

Went to playland today with the idea in mind that the passes we bought were for admission + rides…read more Nowhere on any sign on the premises, or on the website where you purchase tickets did it say we were paying for GENERAL ADMISSION only. We were unable to go on any rides, and one supervisor told us it was our fault because we didn't read the sign posted on the ticket booth (in person). I went to double check, and there was no signage posted indicating that we were paying for only general admission. It wasn't the staffs fault at all, as it does say no refunds, and all the staff were super pleasant and understanding, but we just wished that it was extremely clear that during certain weeks of the month, entrance was admission only. Was super upsetting to hear that. Again, staff were super pleasant and gave us some coupons to still get on rides, and we really appreciated it. While waiting for one of the roller coasters, a group of 4 young boys (approx 8 y/o) were cutting in line SPECIFICALLY in front of my boyfriend and I, and seemed to find it funny to do so. One of the boys moms saw this and looked at us and shrugged. She did NOTHING to discipline her children. These kids seemed to be targeting my boyfriend and I, and would only cut in front of us. At one point, they were climbing over the metal bars so they could get back in front of this. They didn't stop, so eventually I yelled at them once they started trying to SHOVE past us. We told the ride operator, and thankfully they weren't let on. Leaving the ride, the families of the kids were extremely rude to us and got mad at us, yelled at us and made gestures. Why is it our fault that your kids are extremely rude and have no manners? After yelling at the kid, they were laughing and smacking their butts at my boyfriend and I. I wish there was more security around, and that there were stricter policies on younger children being granted the privilege to ride in adult-majority spaces. Words can't describe how rude and disgusting these children and their families were being towards us. This entire experience made us not ever want to come back. I couldn't imagine if we had paid over $100 for entry + the ride pass and we had the same experience of these kids and their families harassing us. Absolutely disgusting.
