I had a clutch of accidental mystery snails hatch. There was about 30 snails. The owner said oh we don't take mystery snails. The conversation could have ended there but she felt the need to belittle me and then told me just toss the clutch in the trash! This is completely incorrect information. You have to freeze the clutch completely before tossing. Otherwise you could have snails hatching in the wild over taking ponds and other waterways. But don't worry she told me I could pay her $3 a snail for her to take in free inventory.

I have yet to see any sick fish in there store and if the really helpful employees think your aquarium is not suitable to keep the fish happy they will let you know and help you find a different fish. They get weekly deliveries of new fish and are more than happy to order any fish they don't usually stock, they will even hold onto your new fish and make sure it is eating and healthy. Buying tickets was pretty easy at the counter, and they asked if there was intent on exiting and re-entering - of course not, one go! Compared to other science museums that I've been to, Science World feels smaller, probably because it is mainly one large floor with a ground level. However, it's very spacious and has many interactive and interesting pieces. My favorites were the flipbooks to learn about the human body, the tactile demonstrations of hinges in the body, and the amount of many integrations of physics and music / sound. One critique is that it felt more biology and physics heavy than chemistry, but the variety of stations that they did have were very impressive. Some outstanding ones on the chemistry side include their geology exhibit, including crystal structures. The ecology and earth science stations were also fun to explore. By the window, there's also a nice view of the bay / pier. It looks like there are a few things downstairs, although there aren't too many signs for it. My friend and I actually got lost and had to ask for re-entry - oops! Coming with children? They have some neat children exhibits, too, including a little treehouse!

It's so neat to be able to touch animals that few people see, let alone pet. I have a picture of her as a small child, almost lying on top of a wallaby in the sun. So, when a friend from Seattle asked that I meet her halfway from my north end location, this was the outing I chose for the day. The tour wasn't as long as I remembered it being, and the marsupials weren't quite as snuggly. However, the variety was amazing. There were tiny baby lemurs on display, a mama wallaby with a baby in her pouch, burros, kissing alpacas, emus you could pet... it's a pretty unique experience. I only removed one star because I felt rushed through. In the past I don't recall feeling like I was being held to a tight time limit, and that was a little disappointing. Overall, it's a cool experience, and I highly recommend it-- especially for those with children.
