I had a semi-urgent issue with branches over power lines. They came out the same day and did not try to scare or price lean on me. The guy I interacted with was the owner. They have been in business for 30 years and it is evident in their professionalism. After agreeing on price and terms they arrived on time with all the right equipment. The fellas that did the job were courteous and focused on the right things to get the job done right with little disturbance to my lawn. They also cleaned and checked back with me regarding lawn issues which were minimal. I recommend these fellas to friends and family and will use them again. I was supposed to have 3 green giant trees installed a year ago and instead they planted 3 other type of pine trees. Over $600 @ and I got the ugliest trees ever! I was after him for over a year to replace them. Finally a week ago they brought 3 trees that are supposed to be green giants but they all had the tops cut off. Ugliest shape to them! Uglier than the other trees they planted a year ago. Now 2 of them are already turning brown and we've had plenty of rain so it's not because they weren't watered. And, they don't know how to plant trees. They were supposed to bring amended soil and they used the existing clay soil. Please don't use them or ask to pick out your own trees! read more

Steve and I discussed many times the work I needed done for about a 3 week period which was to clean up my entire yard to the fence lines. The sole purpose of hiring someone (and this was explained to Steve MANY times) was to give me the ability to mow everything within my property to the fence line. He called me 6/26 and said he had time to do the job that day, we agreed on price and again I stated (clean out everything to the fence line) and mentioned YET AGAIN I need to mow to the fence. Upon me arriving home from work I find what "he meant he was doing" was cutting everything down to 1-2" from the ground. Maybe I misunderstood him or maybe he didn't understand the purpose of me hiring someone but I was VERY clear in what I needed done and stated it MULTIPLE times. When I met his crew they were very nice and even said Steve was going to have someone come back out and finish the nubs with a rototiller. I called Steve to see what the plan was to which he said "I never said I was doing that, I have thousands of other much bigger jobs and if I wanted that done I can arrange it with him". Again I don't know what led me to think he and I were on the same page, but he knew what my intended outcome was and had I knew we weren't I wouldn't have hired him to do it. I don't know how many times he could've said "I'm not doing this so you can mow, or taking stuff down to the ground level".... again, he wouldn't have gotten my business. Now I know why he only takes cash, so when he rips you off you have no way to get your money back. Sad business ethics, I won't be using them again and highly recommend not even considering Forever Young. read more

Hired Steve Young to remove 2 trees to prepare our property to be sold. Paid half the money prior to job beginning. Received email stating he completed the job. Unfortunately I sent the final payment before checking the work. He only cut the top off a tree and removed another but left weeds and brush. Promised to come back but NEVER did. So sad he ripped off customers in their 80's!! read more

After doing a good job trimming my trees I hired Steve again to install an arborvitae and paid him a $200 deposit. This was almost 2 years ago and still no tree. Many false promises to get it done and still nothing. I recently asked him a few months ago to simply return my deposit which he promised to do. Yet no refund. Look elsewhere for your landscaping needs. There is honest contractors out there, just not here. read more

Steve was awesome to work with. Quick to respond and quick to meet my needs. Needed firewood for the winter and he had my truck bed filled up by the end of the day. To top it off, I was unable to walk due to a recent surgery, Steve and his guys loaded the truck up for me. It was a ton of high quality firewood for a really great price. Don't do business with this man. He has held my Father in Laws money (he's 88) since April 20th, and refuses to pay it back. He gave him $2,000.00 as a deposit for a tree job and changed his mind, the landscaper said no problem as they never started work and we never heard from him again. Numerous calls and letters were sent and complaint registered to the BBB. He did finally refund 500 after 1 bounced check and again, we have never heard from him, except for false promises of payments which never come to fruition. The BBB said to sue him, and others to pursue other means. I would steer clear of this man. I think its disgraceful that he would do this to 88 year old retired Veteran on a Pension. read more

Steve is extremely unreliable and dishonest person. Think of a used car salesmen. He was contracted to plant some trees and grass seed in my backyard. He took a deposit and ignored me for months finally. Put trees in and told me the soil and grass seed was extra when it was agreed upon the contract. He promised a 1 yr guaranteed on the trees and in about 2 months they died. I contacted him several times still no response i am over$450 on two trees. DO NOT EVER TRUST THIS LIAR. read more

Needed several trees removed on our property ranging from 30'-70' tall, as well as several "shrubs" that were a nuisance (and ugly) - Steve came and gave us by far the best quote of all the local places we contacted, advised us on how to address some of the other issues we raised about our landscaping and had a crew out to our house in about a week. EVERYTHING was done and cleared from the property in less than 4 days! They did outstanding work - especially avoiding any damage to the trees we were keeping that were right next to the trees being removed - and we couldn't be happier with the end results! Not recommended. I was given a quote of several thousand dollars to remove one small tree and grind the stump, as well as prune and trim four other trees, and trim several shrubs. It took several weeks for the service to be scheduled, citing bad weather (I know that happens). When the crew finally showed up and began working, they piled all the tree limbs in front of my garage - a HUGE pile - and then inexplicably left! I had to pick my kids up from school so I had to get a neighbor to help me move all the tree limbs so I could pull my car out of the garage. The job wasn't done, but it took several more weeks for the crew to come back out and restart the work (weather again!). They did a terrible job pruning my trees, and never ground out the stump, saying the stump grinder broke. They charged me $500 to bring in a huge machine to prune the big river birches, but then the machine wouldn't fit in the yard so they didn't use it and did a crappy job pruning by hand. No refund for the $500 for the machine they didn't use, no refund for the $200 for the stump that is still in my yard. Thousands of dollars later I have to hire another tree service to do the job correctly. read more

Wow. I love no nonsense professionals that are great at their jobs. Steve Young and Forever Young came highly recommended to me from a trustworthy source and he delivered! Just going through the process of getting the quote done you can tell he cares about his work and his clients. I could sense him trying to get me the best number he could without losing his own shirt. Great Tree work, and some great maintenance landscaping done. Looking to add some driveway expansion and or patio landscaping next. Great place to get firewood to, plus he's turning my downward trees into firewood for next season. Steve's crew did a great job taking down four trees. One tree was huge with a large crack and being held up by two other trees near a brand new fence. His crew was extremely careful and meticulous in how they removed piece by piece. I was so impressed with their precision. I was shocked they were able to preserve a beautiful dogwood tree that was beneath all of the cutting being done. Thanks to Steve for such a prompt response too! read more
