Joe dropped his crew off to handle a tricky clear out of a large tree that fell over in my yard. His crew did not do the work as Joe laid out. They left several large chunks of trunk (2 1/2 feet by 4' long) and said their saw chain broke but "don't worry they'll be back". They are still there. The biggest. most damaging problem is that instead of removing the fallen tree, they dumped a huge pile of trunk sections down an embankment at the rear of my property, then hid them with leafy branches. Joe took 3 weeks to return my call, and 2 months to come out and look at the problem. When he came out he said he didn't know what to do, but he'd call a guy. He came out with the guy, but they've never been back. He got sick. He got hurt. He was in rehab. Now, Joe does not seem to have a physical address where he can be reached, as my lawyer has tried. His website lists Elkins Park, but that is for a condo, where he has no connection for many years. Executive Branch Tree Service, and they didn't disappoint! The main branch crashed our fence and landed on our neighbor's garage roof, with a lot of other branches. I knew this was dangerous to let sit and it needed to be cleaned up immediately. Joe and Olivia are good people and provide good services. They are prompt, thorough, and honest. The owner is the worst guy I've ever had the opportunity to work for. so he reached out to a friend bc he needed a landscaper to cut his lawn (that wasn't cut in a month) so myself and team headed out within 24 hours and cut the lawn. at the point I told him to hold off on payment bc I was unsure of the amount of time it would take to cut and clean up. After that day he advice me he would have his wife send payment via Venmo, that never happen, after many attempts to collect, I reached out to the mutual friend in hopes he could help. Again after many phone calls Joseph still failed to make good. At this time we are filing in court against him. I had multiple trees down but they broke a section of my fence and have made many promises of they will be there to replace it but yet never have come back. I have many texts with promises of I will be there to doit but All I got were excuses as to why it has not fixed it yet I has been well over two months now. From beginning to end, EBTS was excellent. After needing tree guys a few times since we moved, I know firsthand how seldom they reply to phone calls. This last time though, I was lucky to get a few replies and I ended up going with EBTS. When I spoke to Mike over the phone he was courteous and quick to get his brother/business partner Joe to come out for the estimate. Once I met Joe, I was pretty much sold. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and really made me feel like I could trust him and his company. Even after getting a couple other quotes that were lower than EBTS, I chose them because I appreciated his demeanor & personality and genuinely wanted to give them my business. Once you meet the guys, it's hard not to like them! They worked efficiently and quickly to get the tree down and removed all the branches & debris in a timely fashion. They had to maneuver through our driveway/yard as well as my neighbor's, but were very considerate to both of us and our properties, making sure there were no damages. There are some more trees we eventually want to get removed, so I will be reaching out to them in the future, for sure. Mike and his team were fantastic. We had them out in February for a pretty tough job - a 40+ ft maple tree in the backyard of a west philly rowhome, surrounded by electrical wires, minimal alley space, and totally boxed in by other homes' backyards. To make things more challenging, the tree had grown around a metal fence limiting how low they could cut it. I got quotes from a couple other places, but Mike was able to give me the best quote, and unlike another guy who said he'd do the job but never showed up, Mike was professional, quick to respond, and did exactly what he said he would, when he said he would. His team was able to come out, cut the tree down and take the trash all in one day (no other tree cutter I got quotes from was able to promise any faster than 2 days). Executive Branch came and gave me an estimate for trimming two huge trees. I should mention they rescheduled the estimate once because of rain (understandable) and then tried to reschedule again because apparently they were delayed on a big job. They finally came for the estimate 90 minutes late. I tried for two days to get the tree trimming scheduled and they couldn't do it for various reasons--they told me the approximate time, but when I tried to get an actual appointment I was told "I will let you know as soon as I have the schedule in front of me" one day. The next day it was we only make the schedule Fridays, so tomorrow I can let you know...plus I've been really sick for two days, we can't just do your job alone, and so on. They also told me they would send me their insurance certificate on a certain day and I never got it. These trees are over communication lines so it's kind of important. I understand if they are busy but they should be upfront and not continually give excuses as above. Everyone's business is important. Also, the scheduler kept saying how they were so busy because Joe is the best. Not very professional. I decided to go elsewhere. read more

Similar experience to another customers experience on Google review 10/2021. I hired them for tree removal and everything was fine until the removal of the large tree trunks that couldn't be chipped in the chipper. Promised to remove all tree logs the next day but never did. I had to follow up with multiple communication and they would only text back providing false promises. After two weeks, I had to pay someone else to remove it as they stopped responding. The most bang for your buck. I had a large branch come down on my room during a storm, and sought out estimates from 6 different companies to take down 7 trees (3 of which over 50 feet tall and starting to die with large dead branches hanging down). They came and provided an estimate the day after I called. Executive was the most competitive pricing, and were the most open and honest about every aspect of what needed to be done. They promised a lot and followed through on everything. Brought a team of 6 workers who were all beyond professional, very nice, and did the entire job in one day. In addition to the trees, they even helped take down an overgrown shrub that was close to my foundation at no extra charge. At the end of the workday, they took extra care to clean up everything and leave my yard in presentable condition. Executive Branch cut down a huge Limb for me that had split off the main trunk on 8/27/20. Their price was reasonable and they worked quickly and efficiently, because they didn't bother to remove the large limb or the smaller cuts they had made and just left it in the woods. I called Mike Hughes the owner twice and he did not call back. Then I emailed him on his web site. After a few missed calls back and forth with his brother Joe the foreman, I emailed him a second time, again stating what needed to be done. Joe called me and assured me he would take care of it within a week. When he didn't show I called him. He asked me to text him my address and said he would come the next day to take care of it. I sent the text but he never showed. I had to email a third time and his brother Mike finally responded. Mike admitted make a mistake by trusting his brother Joe and that he would put me on the schedule. It's now over a month since the work was not completed. I would never use this company again. After moving to our new home 3 months ago, I've been seeking a reliable and reasonable tree removal service, since the new home had 2 badly rotted trees. I went on HomeAdvisor and checked a few places out, and even had a few quotes, but none of the services convinced me that they where good/passionate about doing a great job. Each day, in the past 2 weeks, I check out various crews/companies working tree services in my area as I take my young kids to school. Today I saw, what I believe to be the hardest working crew with passion and professional execution. I stopped my car to ask them about heir service, and with 10 minutes I got a call back for an immediate review/estimate. I found them to be 3 brothers (Joe, Billy and Mike) from around the area. I gave them the job right away, for cutting down/removing 2 trees. They did this in 3 hours, for a good price, and had the best clean up ever. Mike, Your customer relations stink. You came and gave me a favorable competitive estimate ("proposal" I learned later) a while after the huge storm and I agreed to the job. I understood that others' work requiring immediate attention needed to be done first. Your crew arrived on Friday as promised but things went downhill from there. The foreman and the unmasked crew walked around the property to observe the trees to be removed and confer with me but noticed there was no way for the bucket truck to enter my back yard. He needed climbers. He couldn't reach you by phone. They hung around after having placed my concrete bird bath in front of my garage door and disappeared without clarifying when they might return. I heard nothing from you. On Sunday I phoned your office, left a message: Would you be here Monday? You didn't call me to admit your estimate error; you sent me the phone # of the guy who'd been here so he might give me your excuse and bow out of what I thought was a commitment. Had I not phoned I'd probably still not have heard from you. So another tree company has been hired for work further delayed by weeks. Meanwhile the concrete bird bath still blocks access my garage door and my phone request (Monday) for someone to re-place it on my lawn has gone unheeded. I, at 84, shouldn't be expected to move it. From the quick time getting an estimate to the thorough and clean execution of the actual job. Their estimate was the best of the three that I got and the owners are brothers and clearly have excellent work ethics and really value what they learned from their family. Their work was completed in a very timely and neat fashion and when I questioned one of the parts of the job, Joe was quick to want to correct what I thought was part of the original estimate, but Joe didn't think so. Last Friday night, a tornado-like storm hit our area, causing our 90-foot, 200-year-old beech tree to fall across our lawn and block our front door access. I worried that it would take a while to find a reputable company to clean up the huge branches covering our lawn. Within an hour after calling Executive Branch, I received a call from Joe, one of the owners, all brothers, who immediately came to our home. Unlike a competitor, Executive Branch gave me a reasonable, fixed price and did not try to take advantage of us because of the storm. Joe promised to be there by 8am Saturday with his crew and true to his word, Executive Branch came through as miracle workers.
