I emailed Sean my current homeowners and auto policies and he gave me a call. I gave him all of the information requested and he gave me a quote of $1,092.66 every 6 months for auto and $1,616.62 a year for homeowners, a substantial savings over my current policies. I said that sounds great let's go ahead. On my auto policy my son and I are the only drivers (he was listed on the auto insurance paper I sent Sean), my wife is handicapped and has no license. For the homeowners insurance I told Sean my house is 1,667 (somehow the policy is for over 2,000) square feet. When I got my policies the auto is $1,625.12 every six months and the homeowners is $2,044.40, an increase from my current policies and way over the "final quote" Sean sent me. Seems like a nice guy but after he cancelled my current homeowners and auto insurance for me I got the new prices and was blindsided. I then had to make a lot of calls to get everything back to where it was before I got his postcard.

UPDATE - After a week the head honcho Gary himself called and told me that I was cyberbullying him and that I was a maniac. I told him when people read my review of his unprofessional behaviour more than a few customers looking for an agency might pass on his poor service review. I rarely give 5-star review but I feel Coastal Insurance and their team deserve this recognition…read more Recently I purchased a house and my mortgage broker pushed me to use their insurance company for obvious reason. While the pricing is great, I wanted to compare both the rate and the coverage. I emailed 5 different insurance companies and 4 of them immediately said "we'll get you the same policy for the same money" but only ONE came back to me and said you are not being covered properly and there's conflicting info in the underwriting language. That firm was none other than Coastal Insurance (see attached email). While their policy came back to be $200 more, but their policy also offers substantially more coverage. I would've rather pay the extra money than to leave myself exposed to a potential loss and claim denial b/c I didn't read the fine print. In a society where speed and cheap trumps service and common sense, it's refreshing to see a company that is thorough and didn't "sell me on price and price alone." Just an FYI, they also have an affiliate that provide tax grievance service and have saved me thousands of dollars with my commercial and residential properties.

I stood in there for more then 15 minutes waiting for someone to greet me and got nothing. Not even a hey we will be right with you.
