Dr. Alsahlani helped support my clinic from almost 4,000 miles away during the peak of COVID. She…read morewas able to secure N-95 masks when I was still unable to get them to my clinic in Alaska. She was quick to offer to help and shipped them to me. I was forever grateful. While not a clinic patient of hers myself, if I lived in the area, I would definitely trust her to care for my children.

I would not recommend this office because of the billing department and poor communication…read more We scheduled our daughter's 4-year wellness visit months in advance as a preventive wellness check. After the visit and follow-up, we were billed $602.49, and I still have not received a clear explanation for why a scheduled wellness visit was billed/processed in a way that left us with significant deductible charges instead of being covered by insurance. They do not let you call the billing department, so I first emailed billing about the issue on April 22. After no response, I followed up on May 1. After still not receiving an answer, I emailed again on May 12 just asking them to acknowledge they were receiving my emails. They finally responded on May 13, saying the issue had been sent to upper management and resubmitted to insurance. I had to follow up again on June 2 before receiving another brief response. At no point did I receive a clear itemized explanation or a direct answer to my main question: why was a pre-scheduled 4-year wellness visit not billed as a preventive wellness visit? At this point, I am out this money unless I pursue formal legal options to recover it. And now I need to find a new pediatrician as I would be stupid to work with this people again.

The doctor who did our tour let us know that the practice manager was very good about having sick apts open every day as well as new born apts. The only thing missing was a separate waiting area for sick kids. The doctor who did our tour let us know that when a sick child does comes in they are taken to an exam room quickly to reduce exposure to the healthy kids in the waiting room. We feel lucky to have such a nice practice within 15 mins of our home!

We had been going to OP since the birth of our son about 18 months ago when we had Blue Cross/Blue…read moreShield insurance. We both lost our jobs due to COVID in March and switched to Meridian (medicaid). I was happily surprised to see OP accepted our new insurance. We received an email saying that the flu vaccines are in, and to make an appointment right away. I called, stated my name, and the receptionist said "You have Meridian Insurance? We do not have any flu vaccines in right now, we will email you when we get some in." I was confused and said "Oh, I just received an email saying to make an appointment?" Receptionist #1 said "Oh... hold on." and gives me to receptionist #2 who tells me "Hi, I am sorry about the email. We do not have any flu shots available for medicaid patients, and we do not know when we will have any in. The flu shots are only available for our other patients." WOW I get it, businesses have to make money. That isn't my issue. My issue is that they have different treatment plans - UNKNOWN to their patients - based on your insurance. When they said they didn't have any, I didn't question it at all, like many of their trusting parents, I am sure. They could have simply said they were low on flu shots and recommended going to a Rite-Aid so that you were following the same treatment they were recommending for their other patients - BABIES - during a PANDEMIC. Flu shots aren't hard to come by, they really don't need to deceive people because they want to prioritize people with insurance. The receptionists are following the direction of the doctors and owners of the practice. It is a shame that this is the country that we live in, and it makes me so sad that not everyone child is given the same advice and access to care. And don't accept medicaid patients if you are secretly going to have different treatment plans to maximize a buck. These are babies and children here. So sad.

He was misdiagnosed because the doctor did not ask the right questions and did not listen to the symptoms I listed. I am the one who figured out what the problem was. When I told the nurse what I thought was wrong with my son, she laughed at me. Turns out, I was correct. Now that we go to a new pediatrician, I learned that this office also missed another medical issue with my son. I hesitated posting anything at all, but I sincerely hope others can avoid the experience we had.

We are working on getting a diagnosis of ADHD, working with his school social worker and a therapist, so the missing piece was a local pediatrician (we moved recently from Ann Arbor and the drive wasn't feasible). I chose a place that accepted my insurance, and was recommended by a lady at Beaumont. I had an appointment yesterday with Dr. Eastman, and was pleasantly surprised! He was telling corny jokes, and was super personable to my son, who is exceptionally anxious about doctor's appointments. He answered all of my questions, and the the support staff was amazing as well. I feel like we have made a solid choice in choosing this facility, and I know better than to read Yelp! reviews and take them too much to heart. My fiance is a chef and runs a restaurant...these things are not always the most honest ways to find out information. I say, make your own decisions and base your opinions off from those.
