Great garden center with lots of outdoor plants, lots of pots, and lots of inside plants. What I found odd was the lack of personnel to answer questions such as "how much is this?" since everything wasn't marked with prices. So many items without price tags made shopping an interesting experience. Four stars for inventory minus one star for lack of workers who could answer questions. read more

I'd love to give this place 5 stars, but I'm taking two off for bugs because that's pretty significant when dealing with plants. Almost every time I've come here I've seen spider mites and mealy bugs in store. I've brought home the same on plants and discovered them. This store has a great selection of rarer houseplants and two super cute kitties in the store! Just make sure to spray your plants down with some dead bug brew or similar before bringing them near your other plants. read more

They landscaped an area in front of our house. That area now has tall plants in front of short plants. One area looks over crowded. I called a year later to have them do another part of our yard. I was told by the landscaper he would call back in a week. I waited 2 weeks & called again. I was told same thing. Again I waited. This went on 3 times. I gave up & looked elsewhere. read more

OK I'm going in for the third time tomorrow. The first two times I went in turns out they were closed who knew. I wanted three bulbs I would've paid cash for them who cares if you're open or your closed you're all still here. You closed five minutes ago give me a break. Second time was on a Tuesday where and picked up what I wanted had to look all around for someone and she was working on the books in the back room and said well we're not open really the gates open. This is a wonderful place. They are very nice and friendly and knowledgeable. Maybe a little speedy but sell strong healthy plants.

(In my wife's voice) I want to like this garden center. Their plant selection is lovely, as well as their interior displays. But their customer service falls short. I made the mistake of choosing some new flowering plants which had not been entered into their register system. I waited and watched as the cashier and her manager argued over how to look up prices. I want to thank Becky and the amazing staff great plant inventive at Dennis's 7 Dees garden center in Seaside!! I wanted to create a 50 foot long privacy hedge at our home on the Oregon coast. After talking with a number of nurseries in Hillsboro Portland and the coast Dennis 7 Dees really delivered!! Becky was extremely helpful on plant selection which we ordered & selected 13 Hicks use as well as recommending organic soil at Westwind landscape in Gearhart. After lots of preparation, weeding and putting in the organic soil the project is finished and looks great. Thanks Becky and Dennis 7 Dees team, especially during these challenging times. I love Seven Dee's. I shopped at many in the Portland area. The knowledgeable people there have always been kind and helpful. Directing me to the exact plant I was looking for . I wish I could say this was true of the Seven Dee's located near Seaside Oregon. The unfriendliness and facial expression of the woman at the counter scared me off ! Gorgeous products, but the people working there are extremely rude. Three people were standing around and saw us waiting to ask for help. They acted as though they were doing us a favor to stop watering and answering our questions. The check out clerk was rude as well. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service! I bought 4 hanging plants for Mothers Day gifts...everyone of them died from bugs. In the past I would spend a lot of money there but after this I will not go back. The others that received plants will no longer go there either. I wish we still had Raintree! read more

I live in Astoria, it's a bit of a drive but I always find something I like when I make the trip, so it's usually worth it, they have fun plants like bananas, ferns, carnivorous plants on occasion and fruits etc. read more

Nice selection of plants. Found the artichokes we wanted. Great looking hydrangeas, Rosemary... the store is stocked with gardening tools, not too many indoor plants. When this store was Raintree, we were here frequently.... customer service is now lacking. It will probably be another 15 years til we go back..... read more

the staff are lovely and eager to help. merchandising and plant selection are inspiring. most of the reviews here lack grace and understanding. it's truly challenging to run any business, especially a garden center, on the coast. staff are often transitory or seasonal, coming and going spring and fall. just as a team member is trained, up and running, it's suddenly september and turnover begins anew. and really, is it fair to expect horticultural expertise from a summer hire making minimum wage? i'm just grateful to have 7Ds here on the coast. so much better than the big box orange store up north. read more

Husband convinced me to try this place again and they didn't fail to show how bad they suck. Literally no one had heard of many of the basic plants that we were asking if they had in stock and the older guy they're kept wanting to go ask the buyer for everything because I guess if you work there you can't simply look at what the inventory is... and one of them that they did have was in their back area and hadn't been checked in, but they acted like it would be a major pain in the butt for them to actually get those out there and pop a price tag on it. They finally gave us just one of them and wanted us to wait around even longer and then we saw the prices that were at least twice what other small nurseries charge and decided they would not be getting any business from us. I have to say I don't usually write reviews but I feel like some of these reviews are just cranky people. I have been to this nursery many times, the people have always been cordial they are not my buddies I am just a customer, I don't expect them to fawn over me like I am their best friend, I go in buy what I like and leave, everyone of us has a bad day but do we really need to be so argumentative can crabby just because we believe someone is not a great employee or maybe racist, can't we all just be a bit kinder less judgmental and stop looking for someone to be over nice to us because we are insecure. Im just saying the can be a wonderful place if we make it that way. :) read more

Stopped in for potting soil and a snippy grouchy employee was so rude and unhelpful that we ended up leaving without the soil. Apparently a City of Seaside employee was making a purchase and needed to charge the city. Clearly a transaction so complicated both employees were beside themselves and therefore unable to be civil to the rest of us. It basically shut the place down. Too bad. We were really looking forward to checking out the new shop. We won't be back. read more

The Seaside store is a good source for unusual plants and flowers. They always have something I can't live without.

Great plant selection, helpful staff. Frequently the plant-tag prices are pretty different from what scans into the computer at purchase time, which is disconcerting. Gotta watch carefully. Good sales though. And I'm lovin' the heirloom tomato sale! read more
