This is a playable and enjoyable course and is the sister course of Dennis Pines. Dennis Highlands is a par 71, 6,500-yard championship golf course situated on 175 acres of pine and oak covered rolling ground on the north side of Dennis, in the village of Dennis. It was renovated in 2018 and first opened in 1984, Dennis Highlands is a Jack Kidwell and Mike Hurdzan design. There is an impressive, expansive practice range before you embark on a few rolling hills, open fairways, and straightforward greens. It's a traditional inland Cape Cod course lined with plenty of trees, offering a fair number of sand traps with straight forward greens, among them a few multi-tier challenges and various undulations, The food at the Highlands Restaurant is outstanding. read more

Went as a single mid afternoon looking to play 9. Staff barely looked up from his computer to curtly say nothing for over two hours and back to computer. I asked "That's it?" expecting alternative. Absolutely my favorite course, down The Cape. Plenty of parking, many times you can get on without a formal tee time. Wonderful staff, and the team that runs the pro shop are very knowledgeable and skilled; plus they have a lot of great stuff on the shelf at reasonable prices. Best hole... # 6. All my years of golfing, I've never walked off a course before. An hour and a half to play four holes is unacceptable on a Tuesday afternoon. No ranger in site, pro shop told me no rain check and no refund... After driving all the way from Boston to enjoy a round of golf.... I won't be back. read more

Played here this past weekend with a group for our annual Golf On The Cape Weekend. The course is a bit challenging, but not overly difficult. The fairways and greens were very well maintained. All holes are tree lined but fear not. If your shot strays into the woods, there is a great chance you will find it as the woods are cleaned out of fallen leaves. Make sure you practice your sand trap shots are there are traps all over the course. But the sand is fine and playable. It's a par 72 course with no water on the front nine. The back nine starts off with a copley of nice par 4s that wrap around a small pond. You will see another hole or two with a little water. They dub it their version of Amen Corner. The one complaint we had happened at the turn as we were is disallowed to stop at the club house for a few minutes after the front nine. The hot dog stand on 10 was not open yet, and with early morning tee times, we were famished. But the starter told us we were behind and could not stop. Yet when we got to the 10th tee, the group in front if us had just hit, and we ended up waiting close to 10 minutes before we could tee off. Other than that, everyone associated with the course were pleasant. All in all, it falls short of being one of my favorite courses on The Cape, but it was enjoyable enough where I would return. Oh, before I forget, as a group and part of a golfers package with our hotel, we paid $71 for 18 holes and a cart. But here's the best part. They will allow you to replay after your round of 18 for just the cart of the cart, if you ride. We did take advantage of this with another 9 holes for just the $13 cart fee. The 19th hole was okay with sandwich offerings and beverages. The hot dogs were under-cooked, taken from a steamer. But the burgers were big and juicy. Unfortunately, I had the hot dog :( read more

Played there on 4/24/21 and the course was in great condition and the weather was as good as it gets up on the Cape in April. The reason for the poor review is that we had scheduled to play there in 2019 and the course was closed and literally some holes were under water so we were issued a rain check. Then came COVID so in 2020 we canceled our trip in its entirety because all courses in Massachusetts were closed due to the pandemic. Fast forward to 2021 and the powers to be would honor our rain check vouchers at Dennis Pines claiming they were now over a year old. In this time of COVID most businesses have bent over backwards to accommodate customers and to keep them as customers in the future. Not Dennis Pines though, they decided to stick it up our backside and for a municipal golf course that actually runs a yearly profit from their golf operation of over 1,000,000.00 it was a low class move on their part. The pandemic was certainly not our fault but Dennis Pines treated us as if it were. Not happy with them at all! read more

Friday dinner was phenomenal. I had the chicken parm special which was crispy and juicey. My wife had the cod special. I washed it down with some cape cod blonde. Overall great meal at a great price. I will be back! read more

id give zero stars if i could! I have never walked off a golf course ever in my life before playing here. Our tee time was 12:37 and we ended up getting out 10 mins early which was a plus. The course was sub par conditions which i didn't mind for the price. At the turn is where the problems began.. We were stoped by the ranger on 10 and told that we could not continue. ( we payed for 18 holes im confused at this point.) we were told we could not proceed any further because the carts would not be in on time. Mind you it was 2:35 so im completely clueless to this because it doesn't get dark till 7...Walked into the clubhouse and talked to the pro shop. The retched old lady told us THEY DO NoT LET 18 HOLE CARTS OUT PAST 12:45! I have been playing golf for 25 years and have never heard of this. Asked for a refund and they told me to pound sand, asked if we could just play a few holes and have the carts in whenever they would like us and again i was told to shove it. They also don't offer a 9 hole rate (wtf?) so no refund was granted either. I will never play this course again and wouldn't care if it turned into a dog park. thanks for a horrible time after a 45 min drive to get there. read more

Called at 10, got a 12pm tee time..,and then pleasantly surprised! Course was in good shape, people in the pro shop very helpful, and the starter was very friendly. Got through 18 pretty quickly, only had to wait on 2 or 3 holes. Not a course for the very skilled golfer, but perfect for me! read more

We played the back 9 in July. Very well keep, greens,traps, fairway and tee boxes. Played at a good pace with rangers on the course played in 2 hrs walking. I know it's the Cape in July, but $43 for 9 holes walking on a municipal course was a bit pricey. That being said I'd play there again. Also played the Highlands, their sister course. I'd say the same about that course. read more

Nice course very well kept. Its pretty wide open but the front nine has a lot of rolling hills. The back nine plays long. Good test for all you can't go wrong here. The town of Dennis does a great job. read more

OK course, nothing special. The staff is a little regimented and stiff, more interested in enforcing rules than anything else. Biggest issue is the no refund/credit policy. We signed up a foursome on a Monday in July. One couldn't make it, so we requested a credit (not a refund). The staff looked befuddled, like it was some unusual request, and said we'd have to talk to "administration" in another location. Really bizarre. Essentially they were just deflecting our request, knowing full well our request for credit would be rejected, and it ultimately was. An absurd policy, given the marginal cost of that credit would be virtually $0. We were playing on a Monday, so highly unlikely our forth spot would have been filled by some random single. I understand they don't want people to cancel and don't want to give money back, but show some flexibility. At least to others, as I'd never go back. read more

Great course; played twice this week ; however the management doesn't move slow players along. No discipline and no visible rangers to help move those slow players along. More than 5 hours for a midday round is ridiculous ( and this was both days we played.) read more
