best place ever! You can find so much at Dennis's. There lamp shades are beautiful. You need lights they have it!

We were vacationing in the area when we just thought of hitting up some thrift stores. This came up as one that was close by and I want to make sure that people who are also looking for thrift stores will know what they're in for before making the trek. This place is cramped and full of stuff - almost from floor to ceiling. It looked like a mish-mash of a craft store, lamp store, tourist store, beach accessories, Longaberger baskets, beanie babies, linens and thrift store in one big warehouse. Trash or treasure would depend on what your taste is or what you're looking for but for me personally, it was an overwhelming, over-priced hot mess. read more

This thrift shop is so random! I was staying near here at my parents' beach resort for two months and was aching for a dose of thrift shopping. If you have a headache, this is not the place to visit. The shop is crammed from walls, to ceilings, to floors with random things. I love thrift shops but alot of the things here are definitely things people throw away for a reason. I have found a few items that are definitely cool, some beachy trinkets, and other odds and ends. But, for the most part, you can find better stuff at your normal thrift store back home. I was looking forward to seeing this place. Upon walking in Margaret seemed friendly. But, I over heard her talking to some customers voicing strong opinions on certain topics. Topics in which, she brought up. As a business owner you would think she would have some class. Nope! Before you voice opinions you should also have facts. Very unprofessional will NOT be back. Margaret and family have always been kind. They keep a steady flow of inventory. It's a super place to shop for home buyers with a budget.

Seriously, I will not return. I wanted to purchase an armless, legless doll and they hD written with a permanent marker the price which was 15.00 but I also wanted to purchase the other two old dolls for decor and she wanted to charge me over 150.00 for 3 damaged dolls baby dolls not porcelain just baby dolls. And she wanted to call them antique, ha. This is why they will remain unsold. read more

I am an avid thrift store shopper for 30 plus years and have been to many a shop. From the Mom and Pop to the more Commercial chains. I have been to their shop three times over a few years period when I go to the beach for vacation. I decided to give them a second and third chance to see if they would get better or possibly find a needle in a haystack. This will be the last time I will go there. I have a feeling they make most of their money in the Furniture Building they have across the street and really don't care if they make any money on the thrift side. Stuff sits there for years. The thrift store side is extremely cluttered and you really have to make it a point to make sure your clothes don't snag something. And of course they have signs everywhere that says "You break it, you buy it!" Set up your store properly and you won't have accidents. The vinyl records(which I will say now to my crate diggers, don't waste your time. Typical old 50's movie/show tune soundtrack and classical garbage you can't give away. Usually scratched to hell and back) are stacked flat. And there are random piles of other items stacked in front of the vinyl table. So you have to almost be a contortionist to reach the records. So my first visit I decided to start digging to see if anything worth while was in the piles. I pulled the stacks of records off the table in the first row so I could check the back row first. The records are in a cubby hole so they are not in peoples way when you put them on the floor. Well, the daughter or wife of someone in the family didn't like the fact that I put them on the floor and proceeded to pull them back. I told her I would have been courteous and put them back after and there was no other way to browse the section. She didn't seem to care like a little kid who has to get their way. I definitely picked up on "You're a city boy and you aren't one of us" being there. If this is not the case, they just have poor attitudes. I did find some items this time(and honestly they weren't that desirable. The boxes were trashed and missing pieces) and they wouldn't come down on the price a dollar! I have never had any problems negotiating at a Mom and Pop shop. Hell even some of the big commercial chains have 25%-50% off days. Thumbs down on this place, spend your money elsewhere. read more
