I'm a disabled Iraq/Afghan combat veteran. So the amount of work prior to this situation was incredibly difficult for me. So I contacted Dennis tree service to have an area that I already cleared. I needed the brush removed and ground graded and ready for seed. While they came 4 weeks after initial start date. Hoa disturbed them and needed approval for clearing. After dealing with hoa for 8 months I got consent to continue. Seth and the main office have treated me like a joke for reaching back out for them to create a new estimate to finish the originally started project. I've made numerous attempts to contact office where I'm informed I'll receive a call back within 10 min. Days go by no calls. I've left voicemails inquiring what would be the cause of this disrespect to receive apology's and reaffirmation that someone will be in touch. After no one is in touch for days this same process repeats, which leads me to believe that my buisness is more or less just a joke to them. I'm not one to write reviews unless some sort of extreme disrespect. What an amazing group of guys, they worked hard the entire time they were here. They were kind and the communication was outstanding. They did the job in the exact time they said. 13 big trees down in 2 days. Left my yard looking amazing. All I can say is this is the company you need to call. The only reason I give one star is because I can't give a 0 star review. I still have a voice mail saved from Seth from 7/29/25 saying "we will be over to remove my tree that they quoted on in 2 weeks and will reach out a day or two prior to give me the heads up on when they are coming". Between some time mid-late August 2025 and Mid December 2025 I spoke with Seth about 6 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME he gave me that exact same line, "you're on our schedule, we will be there in 2 weeks and will call a few days in advance to give you the heads up". After that call in mid-december I stopped calling because it was obvious they weren't coming. I had a few other quotes from different companies and Seth's was the least expensive which is why I called them so many times to come out. However, I had another outfit call me at the beginning of Feb 2026 and offer a discount to do my tree removal that month to keep their crew busy. I accepted it and they showed up a few days later and took it out. One of the times I called Seth, he actually came to my house and said I was mis-quoted and raised my price $1000. I told him i'd accept his new price if they would actually show up and do the job. To my face, he said yes we want to do this job and should be able to get this done in the next month or so. That was after call #3 I believe so I called them 3 more times after that before I gave up. If you want a tree service that will endlessly give you the runaround then Dennis Tree Service is for you. From watching the service that I used take down my tree I see it was a complicated job but if Dennis didn't want to do it I wish they would have just said so. My neighbor just recently used this company to have his tree cut back in December, and they came out a second time to finish the job in February. With that being said, their crane damaged a lot of my grass on the side of my house. I have reached out a total of four times, and each and every time they keep telling me that they are going to fix this, and I'm not getting any results. This tree service came out to a neighbor's property to remove a tree with 3 large trucks parked, one on the servicing neighbor's driveway, one in between the neighbor's house and ours and one initially blocking our driveway until I told them to move. No one from the company or our neighbor asked permission if it was okay to allow the one truck encroaching our property. When the tree company was confronted, they claimed that they received permission from the neighbors which is not the law. The one guy I spoke with was very rude and claimed that by law they have the right of way to encroach on another person's property in emergency situations or utility easement which was not the case (the prior wind advisory had already passed). Tree had not fallen or caused any damage. By Ohio law, approval to enters someone else's property should be received in writing through the servicing company. The rude guy claimed he had 1000 things to do as for the sorry excuse to not have checked with us first. I would not recommend this company due to the lack of professionalism and rudeness presented. Company better hope that no damage is done to our property including the grass as they and our neighbor could be held liable. Take heed, make sure you speak with your neighbors about any service rendered that possibly affect another person's property and vet the service provider. read more

After the 3rd time they told me they would be coming for the job, they finally showed up. Took the tree down but failed to mention in his quote which was for tree take down, stump grinding and cleanup, that Dennis Tree would not be doing each step. Another person came and did the stump grinding a few days later (this was back in November!) and I am still awaiting the cleanup even after texting them at least 15 times!!! In October 2024 Seth said he would deliver firewood to my home within 2 weeks. Long story short, he strung me along, promising to deliver but never did and now it's January and I'm out of firewood as are other suppliers. If he would have told me in October that he couldn't deliver, I could have found someone else to do so. We rely on firewood for our most of our heat and we're cold. I am originally from the area; however, I left years ago, right out of HS to serve in the US Navy. I retired from service and also retired again from the civilian sector. I recently returned to the area and purchased a home in Lagrange which had 13 dead Ash trees on the property-line due to Emerald Ash Bettle infestation. I made sure I signed a contract with the Dennis Tree Company Estimator depicting the entire scope of work expected, and I am so very happy I did. I paid 50% down (with a check) and agreed to pay the remainder upon completion. A team of men arrived as agreed and went to work. As the day continued the weather deteriorated and a storm threatened the area. Of course, they stopped work and put away their equipment. Two of the men returned to the house in the pouring down rain and wanted the remainder of the money. There were three trees' remaining as well as all of the stumps. They claimed they needed to pay the workers for helping them today. I informed the men that I would follow the contract and would gladly pay the remainder when all the work was complete, and not before. Five or six weeks past, but, right when I began to wonder if they were just going to forget about me, I began receiving phone calls from the company wanting their money. I said, "sure, come on over and remove the last three tree's and all of the stumps and I will pay you the rest as agreed". I was then told, "We contract another man that does the stumps, and You must pay him yourself". Oh NO, NO WAY, I said. Longer story shorter, after several more calls from a few different people from the company and several weeks later, Dennis Tree Service sent their men back out to remove the remaining Tree's, and a week or so later, the Tree-Stump man came out and removed all of the stumps. I then paid the Bill in full. WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A SIGNED CONTRACT WITH ANYONE YOU HIRE TO PERFORM WORK FOR YOU. IF THEY WALK AWAY WITHOUT FINISHING THE JOB AS AGREED, DO NOT JUST HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY TO FINISH THE JOB. AFTER A REASONALBE PERIOD OF TIME, YOU WILL WANT TO FIRST SEND THE INITIAL COMPANY A (SIGNATURE REQUIRED) LETTER OF INTENT THAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO COMPLETE THE JOB AFTER SUCH AND SUCH DATE IF THEY DO NOT COME BACK AND COMPLETE THE JOB AS AGREED AND YOU WILL OWE THEM NOTHING MORE DUE TO A BREACH OF CONTRACT. AT LEAST YOU WILL HAVE THIS WELL DOCUMENTED IN CASE THEY PURSUE LEGAL ACTION OR WANT TO PLACE A LIEN ON YOUR PROPERTY. My elderly grandmother hired Dennis Tree service to cut down a 12 foot tree in her front yard. They charged her $400 and it was agreed upon that they were to grind the stump for an additional $100 and remove the shavings. After they cut down the tree, it was advised they would contact her via phone call to grind the tree stump in next couple days. She never received a phone call and tried to reach out several times without any answer. After 3 weeks, she finally received a call back to grind the tree stump. When they finished grinding the stump, it was than advised that the man will have his kids come remove the shavings from her front lawn. Again, after 3 weeks, the shavings were still in her front lawn and no answer from Dennis Tree Service. The only reason my grandma agreed to the outrageous price for cutting down a 12 foot tree is because they agreed to do the complete job from cutting it down, grinding the stump and removing the shavings. I wonder if this job would have taken 6 weeks for any other customer who wasn't elderly. *Please note this tree was the only tree in the front yard and was not surrounded by others. read more

After patiently waiting for 2 months we are finally put on the schedule. The day arrives only for them to be a no show without any notification. Worst part was the tree service was working right across the street . These guys take on more then they can handle. I call that BAD BUSINESS. Would not recommend them!! read more

They do not do what they say. If you use them, get a signed contract detailing exactly what will be done. Beware, better yet avoid!

We contacted this company after reading good google reviews and seeing their advertising post in a neighbors yard. We contacted them and after 2 weeks have given up. They say they are going the next day to get you an estimate and then days go by you call and check and they say were so busy, that we have not been out. So 2 weeks of my time wasted. I do not know if they have quality service but I will say that getting them to even get started was like pulling teeth. Too bad for us I guess. read more

Contacted Dennis tree service Tuesday June 25th for an estimate and Seth answered the phone "yeah." (He was always very short and unprofessional) Gave him my address and name and he said he would come the next day at 11:00am. He arrived at 9:00am waking up everyone in my house as we weren't supposed to expect him until 11:00. He gave my husband an estimate for some stumps and one tree in our yard. The estimate sheet he gave us had a different person's information on it (phone number, address, and name.) But prices were reasonable and we had a family member who just recently used him so we called him back later that day and he said he was 2 weeks out so I told him we would be fine with booking the weekend of July 13th and 14th. (Over 2 weeks out because we are only available on weekends.) He said he'd call when the day got closer to set up an exact time and day with me. Well Saturday the 13th approached and I still hadn't heard from him. I called and left him a voicemail asking when he'd be coming and he never answered. Sunday the 14th then came and I called him again around 11:00am from my phone and he did not answer. So I called him from my husbands number (a number he did not know) and he called it back within an hour saying "this is Seth with Dennis Tree Service how can I help you." He could answer a new person calling him but not me and my number after 2 voicemails. My husband told him who it was and we were wondering where he was and if he was still coming today. He told my husband he was not sure where his crew was at in their day but that they would be here at some point throughout the day and that someone would be coming to grind the stumps tomorrow (Monday). Sunday came and went and he never showed up or called. I am not sure if because our job was a smaller job of $500 or if it is just the fact that Seth is simply unorganized and unprofessional but he lost my business and I will certainly tell everyone I know to not use them. The worst part of all of this is we live right down the street, on the same street of where his business/house is located. This is the same place where he keeps all of his equipment, so it's not like he would have to travel far to get here. If he was behind and wasn't able to come till another weekend a simple phone call back would have been nice to reschedule. But instead he chose to ignore multiple voicemails I left and then never called to say he wasnt coming.
