I've been coming here for years, and I'm done with this place. There are 2 barbers who've been here forever (Bryan, the owner, and Robert), and a third chair which has seen a continuously changing barber. Bryan only seems to take the customers he wants and likes (whether they have an appt or not, and whether they were "next" or not). Robert is like a speed barber...he is so anxious to get onto the next head that his haircuts are actually rough and hurt. And the quality of his work has plummeted. His cut today was so uneven it's no wonder he did not give me a mirror to look in at the end. And should we talk about all the beer drinking (by customers, not by the barbers) at the end of the day? it's like the local bar has moved here. read more

Very disappointing experience. I went this week for a basic mens trim, and was literally in and out in 5 minutes. Everything felt rushed, and I received a mediocre trim and not what I had asked for (too short!). The barber positioned the chair with my back to the mirror too, so I had no clue what he was doing until he was done. Total price was $30, not $20 advertised on the website. read more

Now that my mom lives out this way, I will now be spending a lot of time out in the Desert. Naturally, I needed to find myself a barber out here. Priorities. After reading all the positive reviews on both the shop and a barber by the name of Jerry, I couldn't wait to get my first haircut and shave here. I decided just to walk in instead of making an appointment and was lucky enough to get Jerry on my first visit. Jerry is a very skilled and kind barber. He takes his time and pays very close attention to detail. Jerry took a minute to analyze my hair and face structure and then went to work. I often find it difficult to articulate what I want in a haircut, so when a barber or stylist is able to give me what I want, I'm very happy. Jerry was able to understand the style I was going for and did a great job. He's also very knowledgable and gave me great advice on the type of hair products I should invest in, and taught me a trick to help me with my dry scalp. on my second visit I was driving by and decided just to stop by since iI was super close. I was scared I wouldn't get Jerry again and luckily I did. Jerry, if you read this, it seems like it was meant to be! lol. The shop itself is very clean and has the feel of an old school barbershop. It's nothing fancy and doesn't pretend to be something it's not. I like that there's a wide range of cliental from all walks of life. Young, old, gay, straight, rich, and broke. Although I always feel like I'm the only broke one lol. They also have a couple televisions and have it set on one of the Fox Sports channels. I'm always there to catch UFC programing, so I'm always a happy camper. I highly recommend this legit barbershop. read more

Have been getting my hair cut here for a while. Recently went in, and during conversation with the barber he said that they were open during Covid, when they should have been closed per the state. Or, as the barber put it, "only closed out front". This upset me quite a bit, to the point I'm not sure if I will return. Being open and defying the law is precisely what causes Covid to spread more. Activities like that are what cause the pandemic to go on and on. It's a matter of principles and morals. read more

I've wanted to find a real barber ever since I moved here in June. When you are used to a decent fade anything else is hard to accept. I tried this place two weeks ago after reding positive reviews on Yelp and they were right on. This is the cleanest shop I have ever entered and I am not a spring chicken. It was on a Friday and there wasn't a long wait which surprised me. Lane was my barber and he stated that Tuesdays and Wednesdays were busier. Even though I am not blessed with a full head of locks there was an attentiveness that was well received. Lane took his time and did a meticulous job with my request of a 11/2 to zero fade. Heck, he even pulled out the massage machine for my shoulders and back. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. WAKE UP!!!!! This is a professional shop and I would recommend you call ahead and book Lane as your barber. No one else will buzz my head as long as Lane is present and available. Actually, Lane was too busy to take care of me so I got my fade on with Jesse. He was just as capable and I left FRESH and satisfied. read more

I woke up and suddenly decided that my beard needed a trim. Since I can't really see well enough to do it myself, I decided to go get a professional to do it. I happened to be in Cathedral City, so I looked on yelp and this place was listed highly. I walked in and was impressed, from the beginning. The place was orderly and clean. Someone has taken the time to make sure that the magazines were arranged neatly. The barber stations were all clean. I felt comfortable immediately. There was only one barber, when I entered. He told me that another barber would be along in about 10 minutes. I sat down and waited. I listened to the barber speak to his client. Good small talk; he seemed actually interested. A few minutes later, the other barber enters. Just as I was about to sit down, I got a phone call. I apologized and stepped outside. I came back and he welcomed me into the chair. He immediately recognized that I needed a beard trim. I decided to have my hair cut, too. Jerry (or maybe Jimmy, but I think his name was Jerry) went right to work. He was quick. He engaged me in a little small talk about the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. He asked for clarification about a few things, like how I wanted my hair cut, in the back, etc. I liked his aftershave, too. $17 for a haircut and a beard trim is a super deal. He used a straight edge to edge the hairline. Great experience. I would have given 5 stars, but when I got home, I noticed a few stray long hairs, but I had Jeff help me trim those down. So the barber was not there the owner tried to give me to two other people who have cut my hair before and I do not like so I refused.He then states well there's nothing else I can do horrible horrible customer service. They take their time and make sure you are happy with your haircut. Now the conversations vary. And sometimes the whole shop gets involved. Its fun. I feel very comfortable here and not and outcast. I walked in and the place was packed, but Jerry was available so I was seated in his barber chair right away. He introduced himself, asked my name, and was genuinely friendly. Of course, trying a new barber is always nerve-wracking. We spent some time discussing what I wanted and he went to work. I don't take the time to write reviews typically... busy life and all, but Denny's Barber shop is worth it! what a gem of a find; excellent barbers who know what they're doing, not 'Stylists' who just learned how to cut hair. But what got me were the extras: shave, hot towel, brisk scalp massage, and a quick neck and shoulder rub after every cut??? What a find, and for $15? I always tip handsomely, as this level of quality and service should be rewarded. Some cons: yes, there is a wait, and I've read the bitchy reviewers... really? You're upset that a place that's good is busy??? Well, if you call ahead (at least after your initial visit) you can request a slot. But seriously, if you walk into a place and they're all idle chatting in the back all the time, that tells you something too. I highly recommend Denny's Barber Shop for any man that wants to look his best, and I've been treated royally three times in the last 5-6 months there. This is update to past years reviews: Our visits are now quarterly to Palm Sorings as business travel and aging parents needs grow. We stopped at Denny's Barber shop in May,2016- my husband and boys like the large space of the shop along with all the interesting pictures. Nothing has changed, this is still a great place to come for no nonsense 3 haircuts and 2 shaves. The youngest boy can't wait to get a shave someday. I like coming in here with them. 2014 We were in Palm Springs visiting my parents. My husband needed a haircut but is very picky and will only go to a salon in our home town of Danville Ca. However he missed his appointment prior to our visit to Palm Springs so we went into Denny's Barber Shop, we were so impressed. My husband really liked the real barber shop experience he is originally from small town in Nebraska now living in Danville Ca last 20 years so this was great barber shop experience with an up to date technique. That was a surprise to me because he is very particular. The owner Brian is pleasant, professional & knows his stuff. We visit every few months so Denny's is on the list for our Palm Springs stop. Just bought a 2nd home here. Needed a haircut & goatee/mustache trim. Took a gamble w/Denny's because they were close. Walked in and met Robert, a nice pleasant guy. Told him to take about 1/4" off, and trim up the ears/edges, etc. Nice and interesting small talk seemed to hasten the time, as he was done not so much fast, but efficient. I was surprised by the straight razor trim and hot towel treatment, but what I've not experienced in my home town was the massage treatment at the end. Very nice. Will I go back? Absolutely, I think I've found my new barber at our new home away from home! And I must say the prices are very reasonable too. read more

Best barbershop ever! I came out to Palm Springs for a long weekend, and didn't have time to get my haircut in Los Angeles. Took a look on Yelp and found Denny's Barber Shop. Two miles from my hotel. Drove over and got my hair cut by Bryan. Wow. Got a great hair cut, goatee trim, and razor shave. Warm towel around the face after. Real honest old fashioned barber treatment. Couldn't believe the price either. Tipped 30%. Any time I plan to come Palm Springs I will make it a point to come here for a trim. read more

Had to spend a couple months in the area and had been trying barbers, looking for just the right one. My third try was Denny's. I walked in without an appointment and waited my turn. I got Robert and got one of the best flat tops I had gotten in the desert. I watched the other haircuts the other barbers were giving and they all looked pretty good. This is your typical neighborhood barbershop. Combs in blue water, sports on tv, barbershop banter- the real deal. I have him mow down my beard at the same time, and its included in the price, not an extra charge like one barbershop I tried. I'm 22 and haven't been to a barber since my mom used to take me when I was five years old. Visiting Denny's has made sure I will never go back to super cuts or true cuts or any whatever cuts ever again. My barber did an excellent job and was kind and professional. It was relaxing and was the same price as a mediocre haircut from somewhere else, definitely a steal. The really put the time and effort in and made me look great!
